Jim's been gone a while. Of all characters I don't think so.
And seriously, between this post and the Ouendan posts I'm very tempted to remove you from Mario's Warp Room. Shape the fuck up. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
Quit threatening people Acer. Sheesh. Nobody likes ruling through fear.
EWJ appeared in Clayfighter 63 1/3 an Scupltor's Cut, so why not Melee? Still, Acer makes a good point about his lack of showing. EWJ3D was awful and his appearance is CF631/3 was pretty atrocious too. He's one of my favorite game characters, but I just don't see it happening. Poor guy. I wish someone would do a decent game for him, but he's just been passed from developer to developer and put out to pasture with a series of awful showings. ![]() Most amazing jew boots |
Earthworm Jim is probably best described as the "whipping boy" for developers. Seriously, I haven't seen him an a good game since his origins. Developers just put him in a game without thinking anything through, and his games turn out usually pretty badly.
Whatever, back on topic, I'd really like to see some more third party characters, particularly some from Square-Enix, despite how unlikely it seems to have a Moogle or a Chocobo running around, even if it's just from an item.....though I'd can't imagine one popping out of a pokeball. But there's an idea if they ever include some square-enix characters in the fray. Seriously, namely the Final Fantasy license has a plethora of new interesting possibilties. I wanna see Bahamut blast everything on the field just once, or Odin come out of nowhere and cleaves shit up, I dunno. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

even if they could, I would not want Final Fanasy characters in Smash Bros. Sony should just make their own smash game and include Cloud, Sephiroth, Dante and whatever else belongs to Sony
FELIPE NO |
I think if Sony were to make a Super smash Bros. type game using various characters from its roster, it might be a bit more costly as thy rely much more heavily on third parties. As a result, they'd have to purchase the licenses to throw them all into a single game. That and it wouldn't have the Smash Bros. feel....probably more bloody and "mature", like that game that was to be released a while ago, but got canceled. I believe it was called Thrill Kill.
Final Fantasy does have Nintendo history, although not extensively and recently. But way back before Final Fantasy VI, Nintendo had some Final Fantasy History. Most amazing jew boots |
And about Jim, I don't know if you guys heard, but he's making a comeback (albeit only for PSP thus far), and it seems the crew that worked on the original first two games are behind this. At least, that's what I heard. Sigh, speculation's not as fun knowing the next update on the game won't be for quite some time, and we're left basically just repeating ourselves now. I wonder if Nintendo is going to include any of the Japan-only characters like Starfy and Lip. I mean, wasn't it like that for Marth and Roy? I honestly had no idea what Fire Emblem even was before SSBM. Jam it back in, in the dark.

If there is a Square-Enix character the most likely canidate is Geno. It's been said that there aren't going to be many 3rd party characters so he's about the only character that would fill that possible hole the best. Most amazing jew boots |
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Final Fantasy plus Fighting equals another Ehrgeiz game. If Square were to make another Ehrgeiz game it should be TOTALLY different from the first.
Smash Bros NEEDS Some Guest appeararances. Snake was great and everything but I wanna see somebody TOTALLY Unexpected. Characters that have been forgotten and will bring tears to the eyes of our gaming Bretheren. (Tick would be funny. ((Just saw Josh's avatar))) I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body?

I'm sure when the Tokyo Game Show comes around, we'll get loads of new information on new characters, items, stages and whatnot, and hopefully even a new trailer complete with gameplay video!

I'm hoping for some super moves too. Recently I was looking at some SSBM videos and it looked really boring. Then I saw some Marvel Vs. Capcom vids and i said... " That would look really cool on SSBB" Mario's special move could be... Throwing a rapid series of fireballs, And Link's could be..... Wait! Link WAS doing some kinda Freaky Omnislash move. Kirby DID have that Pot. WILL THERE BE SPECIAL MOVES?!?!?! How ya doing, buddy? |
Regardless of what you think of me or what I think of you, I think we should both do these people a favor and stop shitting up this thread with our petty arguing. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

I should have never introduced that shitty emoticon to these boards. I'd remove it if I could. =/
Well whatever, next time try to add a bit more content when you bump a thread. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
As for Special Moves, it would be cool to see it implemented into this game. But how exactly will it be implemented? If one character uses the Special Move, would all the opponents on-screen be frozen? Or would that only affect oppenents that are closest to the person doing the Special Move? Hmm... :sneaky: There's nowhere I can't reach. ![]() |
I picture some happen in real time, like Mario's fireball thing. The others will still be moving and be able to dodge, but if they get hit by it, they'll get wiped out.
To tell the truth, I picture that the super moves should be wide-ranged and capable of hitting many opponents, otherwise there's no point to them. Link's Triforce Omnislash thing probably provides an instant KO for a single target, but what's the point if you can just dispatch them the regular way? Also, why "Chef" ability for Kirby? Why not "Crash" or "Paint"? Those seem to have much more potential for immense damage than Chef. Of course, in his games, Chef turned people into food items, so I don't know if this is a fatality or just something that causes big damage. Here's a theory I have for SSBB's Super Move system: they're selectable, like Super Arts in Street Fighter 3, which means all the characters have more than one super move. Right before the match you pick a character and one of the three super moves that are available to them, and you're stuck with that one for the rest of the match, thus letting a little strategy influence people's character decisions. Another theory I have is that they all require actual button inputs, not just simple stuff like Up+B or Down+B, but instead (direction)+B+A or L+R+B+(direction). Most amazing jew boots

What's wrong with the Gamecube controller? I don't have any problem with it. I'm sure moves requiring button combinations would be no harder to pull off with a Gamecube controller than they are with a PSX or X-Box controller. Hell, Marth's -> + B attack is basically a combo requiring a button combination like you'd see in Mortal Kombat or something, and I can pull it off.

Last I heard most people liked Smash Bros for not being another Street Fighter combo list clone. You know, something you can pick up and play any character and not have to memorize long lists with combos that apply only to specific characters.
FELIPE NO |
Yeah, that's a good point, really. It's easy to learn how to play any certain character in SSBM, but over time, you can learn more and more ways to use each characters' techniques to the fullest.
What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
PsychJosh: Hey guys, let's make SSBB like SSF2 alpha crazy hyper special edition! Everyone else: Die. There are two reasons that SSBM is currently my favorite game. 1. All Nintendo characters in one game 2. It ISN'T just another fighting game. It created its own drum and now marches to the beat of it. That's how innovative it is. I'm all for more moves and more powerful ones, but add crappy beaten-to-death ideas that made me leave the traditional fighting genre and I'll have to find something new to occupy my time, like drugs. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
Did they say that SSBB will be available on the Wii Controller? Cause if so, pulling off a series of input commands on the Gamecube controller would be nothing compared to what we might have to do on the Wii controller.
Jab+uppercut+thrust+swing+Trigger+Trigger+jab+trig ger+jab GEEZ WE COULD ACTUALLY GET SOME EXERCISISE THIS YEAR!!! There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Now, the mini games, thats what I'm waiting for to see how we have to move the controller around (dont fail me now N). Most amazing jew boots |
Didn't the developers of the game say that it won't use the Wiimote because it would be too exhausting for the gamers to play?
