How could they have been talking about Claire or Sun when this was a good three years prior to either of them being on the island?

I always thought they were talking about Juliet's sister. They could've gotten a sample from her without her knowing. But it more likely belongs to someone else.

I thought about that right after I posted. But, seriously, they've already stretched trying to connect everyone as much as I can take. There's a point where it's like "Holy crap, give me a break".

Um, unless i missed something, i'm fairly certain that it was established that Sun has always been able to have children, it was Jin who was the problem. The docter just said it was Sun so that Jin wouldn't get pissed off, and tell Sun's father, only to have Sun's dad give the doctor the what for.

This one got me thinking. I'm not the greatest on my old testament specifics, so this could be a bible verse, i'm not sure. If it isn't however this could be big.

This could imply that the Others are religious, possibly to the level of cult. They're brainwashing a defector, with a part of the process referencing a prominent bible character, or one of their leaders. I hope at least some of you remember Ms. Klugh's line "He wasn't even on Jacob's list." This Jacob character has only been mentioned once (that i can remember), and that is during Ms. Klugh's line. This could be the second time we're hearing about this guy.

Then again, it could just be mindless rabble used in the process of breaking the mind in order to reshape it. I don't think that the apperance of Jacob's name is coincidence though.

As for this last episode over all, i thought it was good. It was interesting to see the character contrast between Juliet now, and Juliet then. I also think that Ben is hoping to replace Juliet as the Others' doctor with Jack. Thanks to Jack's kidney sack stunt, there's no way Ben's gonna live up to his end of the deal.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

This is Lost, I fail to see your point. Libby gave Desmond the boat to get there. Castaways are caught passing through the flashbacks of others every other episode. You ask a how question and decide for it to be over that. How the hell does a guy win the lottery with a string of numbers used as a code to punch into a computer to dissipate a electromagnetic charge on a remote island where scientific experiments on humans take place, people see the dead, there's a cognitive wisp of black smoke running around killing people, a island that our mental patient multi millionaire himself will end up crash landing on? That might be a better inquiry than how could the character on the island who was infertile before she got there could possibly ever have the pictures of a shriveled up womb in another character's flashback. Shit, that's just going too far!

Like I said, I don't think it was supposed to be a clue or sign to anyone. But if you want to throw theories around, I don't know how old Sun's character is, but 29 to 30 or older doesn't seem out of the question. There's never a time frame for flashbacks, unless they're events leading directly up to the plane taking off in Australia, so, yeah, you have a lot of wiggle room to think of which events could of taken place near each other. If it was her, that would show evidence of the castaways being cased before they stepped foot on the plane.

Really? Well, there's Libby being in the same mental institute as Hurly, Jack's dad drinking with Sawyer and being on a mission with Ana Lucia, the already mentioned Lizzy/Desmond connection. Sayid and the American commander who ended up as the original man in the hatch before Desmond arrived. I'm sure more as well.

Don't worry, i caught on a few seconds after i made that post.

Also, did anybody watch the Lost Suvivor's Guide? Did anyone see any mention of Ana Lucia, Libby, or Bernard? They mentioned Mr. Eko once. Something tells me they regret introducing the tail section characters.

Jesus. Could you please take this more seriously?

I guess I'm getting tired of the show spending all this time connecting the castaways, and nothing getting resolved. At first, I was good with the flashbacks, etc., but there is a point where they need to move the hell on with the STORY and cut the crap with background.

It's frustration talking more than deciding to question that one thing out of all that has been presented.

Ah, okay. Yeah, to my knowledge, this was the first full blown others flashback episode. I've really been waiting for them to get to the back story of some of them, hopefully one for Ben isn't too far off.

I was just thinking about this when I remembered that Danielle's net trap was what caught Ben in the first place and that she lead Jack, Locke and co. to him where she proceeded to shoot him with a bow and arrow when he tried to run. They had a discussion about whether or not he was an Other. So, if Ben was Alex's biological father, she would of recognized him. He must be the adoptive father after they kidnapped her from Danielle. The question is whether or not Alex knows that.

someone mentioned they got rid of the idea, that everyone was actually dead.
Ages someone also said it was all happening inside Hugo's head lol (BTW they never explained what was the deal with his girlfriend being in the psyche ward aswell!!)
I wonder know if the writers will turn round say Darma organisation managed to reach God, and the devil, to explain all this chaos, and links between characters.

Those who are complaining about LOST (just like me) might want to take a look at EW's cover story on LOST season 3. It addresses where season 3 is going to go (which, of course, means slight spoilers for those who don't want to know what might happen when).

There's also a Q&A with Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse which offers a glimpse into season 4 (read: WA-A-A-A-A-LT).

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Well those were fairly interesting. I could really care less if Michael and Walt come back...I'd prefer the boat mysteriously exploded in the middle of the ocean. But like the general consensus is right now, whatever the "purple sound explosion's" ramifications on navigation or what the heck ever it messed up, he probably hasn't gotten very far. The question is though, if people think that the hatch exploding screwed up something and now nobody can leave the islands...how is it Kate is back at the survivor's camp saying, "We have to go back for Jack!" in the preview?

I downloaded the episode to watch so I have just re-watched that scene and here are the messages in order of appearance:-

''Plant a good seed and you will joyfully gather fruit''

''Everything Changes''

''We are the causes of our own suffering''

''God loves you as he loves Jacob''

''Think about your life''
Someone had enought time to actually listen to the mesage backwards:

New episode, mainly flashbacks, but I thought it was okay. The ending was kind of a lame twist though, this whole Charlie now avoiding death thing is way to Final Destination for me. Anyway, it's was fairly boring, but it wasn't terrible. I'm more interested to see next weeks episode so we can find out what has happened to the kids.

Yeah, I thought the same thing about Charlie's twist. That could partially be because I ended up sitting through Final Destination 3 last week (I don't know why), but the part that bothered me was how Desmond phrased it. Is he having visions or are we supposed to believe that he's travelling back in time several times a day? Most importantly, why did the hatch's implosion take his clothes?

This week's episode was okay, but I just didn't like how it was entirely Desmond's flashback rather than cutting between flashback scenes and activity on the island. That balance kept things interesting.

It was a complete cop-out to the question "what happened to Desmond when the hatch blew on up?" I think more people are wondering how did the hatch become a crater and not kill any of the people inside of it?

The whole time-travel theory is one that I really hope they avoid, because for a show like this that has no answers to its questions, the last thing we need a question that literally can't be answered in regards to how he can physically move through time and space like that.

I dunno, I thought it was a good episode but I'm afraid they keep biting off more than they can chew, and time travel is something that even dedicated time travel movies have trouble explaining.

I also really hope that "what are Jack's tattoos" isn't one of the THREE BIGGEST MYSTERIES, because that's not a fucking mystery, nobody cares except for Jack fangirls (whom all flock to Sawyer anyway). I am interested to see what happened to the kids, but I'm sure all it will do is answer it with another question.

*sigh* oh Lost, where did you go wrong...

"Only fools are enslaved by time and space."

Desmond is no fool. □

An excellent episode, from my point of view. I'm more interested in character development than a weak plot anyway. They'll drag the story forward at some point when they feel like it (just like they've done for two whole seasons already, if someone hasn't been watching the show). In the mean time, I'll most probably be very content with what I'm seeing right now.
