ENDING NOTES:

If there are any comments or issues with any of the songs, please email me at blue_nctrn@yahoo.com
Good or bad, these comments will be appreciated and looked into.

I will do my best to fix them and make them more enjoyable for everyone, thanks.

These were made with various synths that I managed to get my hands on, so these are only
arrangements and all rights still of course belong to Yoko Shimomura and Square-Enix.

These will sound slightly different from KH and Kh2's synths since I used a completely different one
so please do not send me any emails saying that they do not sound like KH and/or KH2.
However, I am willing to accept and change the songs if there are any technical issues which really
need to be fixed.

Nice, I'll be sure to download that and give it a lesson.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Ooh, nice remastering of the CoM tracks. A few of these tracks were re-done for KH2 anyway, but it's good to finally have a nice version of some of the CoM-only tunes. GBA audio left a lot to be desired. It still boggles me that the game was so lazy wanted to re-use Simple and Clean so badly that they compressed the whole thing until it sounded like a horribly ripped MP3.

Interesting to hear these remastered tracks, Kairi. Thanks for posting it. There were a few songs that I missed from the game so it's nice to hear them in better quality.

KH2 Novel translations

http://maiki.livejournal.com/368614.html
http://maiki.livejournal.com/369554.html

Scenes that didn't appear in the game are translated in those links above. Alot of great new scenes concerning Roxas, Namine, Riku, Diz and Org 13.

http://www.livejournal.com/tools/mem...=KH&filter=all
Go here for more stuff on the novels and mangas.

Quote:
I haven't even finished reading the 1st chapter so far, and I'm already splattered with some nice new goodies. For those who plan to buy and read the novel, beware of spoilers.

There ARE interactions between the Organization members OMGGGGGGGG

After the photo-stealing event in Twilight Town, the scene changed to showing the Organization having a meeting on their Big White Chairs. It's kinda sad to read how they described chair #4-6 and #11-13 were empty. Anyway, the meeting pretty much went like this...

Xemnas: We have finally found what we seeked.
Xigbar: Roxas? Or the hero?
Xemnas: Both.
Axel: *shrugs* Both at the same time? That's too good to be true...
??: That means someone is behind this...
Xemnas: ..... I can smell that man. (Maiki: AGAIN WITH THE SMELLING.)
Demyx: "That man"?
Xaldin: But it can't be...
Demyx: *turns to Luxord* Hey, who's "that man"?
Luxord: Just shut up.
Demyx: 'Tch. Hey, Axel...
Axel: .......
Demyx: You're shutting yourself up, too?
Xigbar: Be quiet, Demyx.
Demyx: *sigh*

Besides that, there's also an extra scene between xehanort!Riku and Namine. Riku was giving Namine a 'gentle look', aaww. I like how the author describes how Roxas sees the Twilight Town kids. And the whole issue of Roxas being accused of being the photo thief was done a lot sadder in the novel (how the townspeople sound colder to him and stuff).

Edit: Okay, instead of focusing on the essays, I feel like rambling on the novel more.

Back in the xeha!Riku and Namine scene there's this little monologue by Namine:
"Everything he(Riku) does is for Sora. And for the world. What about me? Why am I here?"

Then later on in the Organization meeting, Axel was having monologue angst, too:
"What would have happened, if I had stopped Roxas?
Maybe none of this would have happened if I spill out the secret to Roxas.
But I can never betray the Organization.
No. Actually, I already did.
I was the one who eliminated the other members in the castle, and let Namine meet Riku.
But it wasn't a complete betrayal.
Inside, I still had doubts.
Why am I here?
What do I want?
I still am having doubts.
What should I have done?
What should I do now?
Roxas....."

Can you feel Sora?"

The novel finally explained why xeha!Riku asked Roxas that gay question back in Twilight Town. As you know, everyone that had anything to do with Sora forgot about him because of the Castle Oblivion event, like how Kairi couldn't remember Sora's name until she got in contact with Roxas. It was also the same for Riku. He couldn't 'feel' Sora but there's this nagging voice at the back of his head that made him wonder if Roxas could feel Sora or not. Roxas never answered him, of course, but there's this nice scene later on.

Namine: Welcome back.
Riku: What are you doing here?
Namine: I found out you went to see Roxas.
Riku: .... I see. *starts to walk away*
Namine: It's alright. I can feel Sora.

... And Riku never replied. I guess it's Namine's way of telling him Roxas can feel Sora, too.

Axel and Namine

Roxas saw Namine in his dream, then when Roxas was about to greet Olette and Pence, Namine stopped time to greet him instead, and so on. You get that in the game. After that, there's an extra scene where Namine was waiting on the building's rooftop...

----------------
Roxas. We both were born the same way from the same place, and we are being used by the same people. The Organization, and DiZ. Both sides are using us. Because we were born in a special way. And we both are searching for the same thing. But you probably have forgotten all of this...
"Hey there, Namine."
Suddenly being called out, Namine raised her head.
"You are...."
The man who should have died in Castle Oblivion stood there. A redhead man in a black coat.
"Looks like there's karma going on between us."
".... Axel."
Namine stared at the redhead, who looked down at her. She was certain Sora has defeated him back in Castle Oblivion...
"I'm not a ghost, okay?"
Axel smirked then looked down at Roxas, just as Namine was doing earlier.
"What are you planning to do?"
"I'm just taking orders." Axel replied expressionless.
".... I see." Namine grimaced and looked down.
"What about you?"
"...... Me?"
Namine bit her lips as she kept her head hanging.
I... I wonder myself what is it that I want to do? I don't know.
"Only you can save him."
"....... Eh?" Namine raised her head to Axel's words.
"Got it memorized?"
"Axel--"
Without leaving a reply to Namine, Axel faintly smiled and disappeared.
----------------

・・・・・ポカーン(゜д゜)

Axel and Roxas

Axel's intervention of the Struggle Tournament.

----------------
"Hahah! Not bad, Roxas!"
Axel laughed. Somehow he seemed to be having fun out of this.
And Roxas thought he did not mind fighting Axel, too.
Things unfolding by themselves really made him feel unpleasant, and this Axel seemed to know something but wouldn't tell him anything got him annoyed. But Roxas did not find him disliking the idea of fighting Axel like this.
----------------

Cheer with me, fangirls. GYaaaaay. But after the fight, Axel seemed to be angsting a bit again. He thought it's his fault that all of this was happening because he let things went too far in Castle Oblivion.

The Organization. Again.

Xaldin: Sora is coming back.
Axel: *looks up* Then... [Then what about Roxas?]
Saix: Then what's left is to eliminate No. 13?
Xaldin: If he has no intention to come back to us, then that's the only thing we can do.
The other members stayed silent.
Demyx: So we're... eliminating the traitor?
Axel suddenly but subtlely raised his eyebrows. He hated the sound of that word. No, everything everyone was saying was no music to him.
Xemnas: ---- Axel.
Axel: *stands up*
Xemnas: Eliminate Roxas.
Axel: *stares at Xemnas silently*
Xemnas: Didn't you hear me, Axel?
Axel: I heard you.
Axel raised one side of his mouth to grin and disappeared.

... ;_; *hugs Axel* Ah yeah, this is the scene I previously mentioned where Axel used keigo at Xemnas, chibimazoku. He said "聞こえてますよ". THE ONLY KEIGO LINE YOU EVER HEAR FROM AXEL. XD;

What about...

Namine is just so... sad in the novel. Most of her monologues consist of her questioning her existence. After the scene where Namine met up with Roxas again in the mansion, there's another extra scene between xeha!Riku and Namine...

Oh, thought I should point out that throughout the book, Riku is always referred to as "he" and never by his name until his identity was revealed around the very end of the book.

----------------
Hearing the sound of soft footsteps behind him, 'he' turned around. And there Namine stood, a few distance away. She faced downward, shoulders shuddering.
".... Namine?"
"You said the darkness guided you, didn't you?"
With her head still hanging, Namine spoke with a small voice. 'He' thought Namine might have been crying.
"Darkness is yours. Darkness is something you need."
".... What are you saying?"
'He' started to walk towards Namine.
"The world needs darkness. And where there is darkness, there is light. Then, what about us?"
Namine finally raised her head.
"What about us?" she asked again.
----------------

*hugs Namine too*

Axel, Namine and xeha!Riku - Part 1

Roxas went into the mansion, met Namine for the 3rd time but DiZ kicked her out. Remember the scene where Riku stayed outside of the mansion to keep the Dusks out? There's more to it.

----------------
'He' cut away endless amounts of the white beings called Dusks.
"Please! Help me!"
'He' turned to the near-screaming voice. It sounded like someone's voice. No... It sounded like her voice.
There Namine stood in front of the gate. At that moment, it came to 'his' understanding on whose Nobody Namine was.
"Don't hurt Roxas anymore than this! Please!" Namine clinged on to 'his' back.
"Us Nobodies are beings that shouldn't exist. But... This is just too cruel."
Lowering down the Soul Eater 'he' had been wielding, 'he' hugged Namine. And at that moment, a voice was heard amidst the Dusks.
"Is Roxas in that mansion?"
"..... Axel...." Namine whispered. 'He' raised 'his' head to the new voice. And at the end of his sight stood a redheaded man. Perhaps an Organization member. 'He' silently raised 'his' Soul Eater back up, pointing it at Axel.
"Who are you?" 'He' asked Axel with his low voice but Axel speechlessly prepared his chakrams. Within the tensed atmosphere, Namine softly answered 'his' question.
"Axel... Roxas' best friend. A Nobody. An Organization member... But..."
Axel smirked, as if to interrupt Namine from continuing, and said, "Namine, we both have the same goal. Got it memorized?"
Namine shook her head.
"Same... But not the same. I don't have time to explain now."
Listening to their conversation, 'he' just stayed glaring at Axel.
"I'm sorry, Axel."
As Namine said that, a black hole opened up behind 'him' and Namine. Both of them disappeared as if sucked away into the hole.
"Hey, wait!"
Axel rushed forward but the closed gates prevented his hand from going further.
'.... 'Tch."
Axel clicked his tongue and looked up at the mansion.
----------------

Betraying DiZ

After DiZ confronted Roxas in the White Room, xeha!Riku came in telling DiZ there were too many Dusks, then Namine came in telling Roxas that 'he won't disappear but just turn back to normal'. DiZ took her away and xeha!Riku followed them, leaving behind a bewildered Roxas.

----------------
DiZ shook Namine away and she fell to the floor.
They were in the computer room. An image of Sora was projecting on the computer screen.
"I will not allow Nobodies like you taking things into their own hands--"
Beside DiZ's stiff words, 'he' helped Namine up.
"Why do Nobodies born? Why must we be borned? You know the answer, don't you?"
Borrowing 'his' hand to get back up, Namine asked at DiZ's back.
"I have no obligation to answer you."
".... You do remember that I am a witch, right?"
"Hahahahahahah!"
DiZ laughed at Namine's words and flapped his cloak.
"And what can you do? Didn't you make 'promises' to Sora and Riku?"
"I didn't promise you anything," declared Namine. Indeed, Namine did not make any promises with DiZ. She only made promises to--...
"Then I'll tell you one thing. If you had mind your own business, Roxas wouldn't have to go through this pain. Am I wrong?"
"Instead of not knowing, it's better to know and be hurt. And when you're hurt, it's better if someone saves you. I don't have memories of my own. Just like that replica, I don't know anything. That's why I want to know. Roxas would feel the same as I do."
"And what's the use of knowing!?"
As DiZ rebutted, 'he' noticed the computer screen behind him showing reality. Namine noticed it at the same time, too. There was an intruder to the mansion. Perhaps Axel.
"...... What do you know, DiZ?"
After noticing what Namine was doing, 'he' reflected that DiZ should not know what was going on.
"What are you trying to do?"
".... Revenge."
At Namine's question, 'he' answered before DiZ could. The monitor behind DiZ was informing them that Roxas intruded into the computer room. Axel was waiting at the end.
Axel was Roxas' best friend. He said that he and Namine have the same goal. Namine said it was the same but different. If 'he' was Axel, he would not put the final blow on Roxas. 'He' knew that, at least. So it was no problem for him to give some extra time for Roxas.
"This old man is using us for his own personal revenge. Aren't you?"
".... Are you betraying me, Ansem?"
DiZ's voice shook in anger. To him, this would be the second time Ansem betrayed him.
----------------

Insert the 2nd Axel VS Roxas battle here. I just don't see a point to translate that scene because there's nothing new. And because I'm starting to get tired of translating the narration now, I'll just go back to dialogue form.

----------------
Riku: No, I'm not. I told you our deal is only until Sora wakes up. He's waking up soon so I'm leaving the rest to you. After that, it's my... No, our freedom. [I have no intention to help someone on their personal revenge. I would rather help her Nobody, Namine, and Sora's Nobody, Roxas. Whether Nobodies deserve to exist or not, it resembles the connection between light and darkness. Not everything in the world is light, and I've found the answer myself that darkness isn't all bad, either. And even if Nobodies don't deserve to exist, that doesn't mean they deserve to be hurt.]
Namine: .... Riku.
Riku: I'm not Riku. It's Ansem. Namine, let's go.
Namine: To where? [There's no place for a Nobody like me to go to...]
Riku: Who knows... But looks like someone who does has just arrived. *grin* (I think he's referring to Mickey?)
Namine: Eh? *looks up*
Riku: *turns to DiZ* You make sure Sora wakes up. Look at the monitor. Roxas is on his way to Sora's place. Whatever happens after that... Well, you're planning to leave it to Sora, aren't you? [I don't know what Roxas and Axel were talking about, but looks like I'm right to have left them alone...]
DiZ: ..... Fufufufu...
Riku: What's so funny?
DiZ: Nothing. I'll go greet Roxas. *sets off*
Riku: .... Let's go, Namine. *grips Namine's hand*
Namine: .... Okay....
----------------

So, uh, anyone wanna be a RikuNami fan along with me?

Axel, Namine and xeha!Riku - Part 2

And so, Roxas has merged with Sora. Bye-bye, Roxas. ;_; I have to agree with a certain Japanese when she said in her diary this: "Even though I already know what's going to happen, I still couldn't stop myself from hoping that someone would save these characters. This is just too hard for them." *sob*

Anyway, then we get this extra scene. I decided to translate the narration too because I think the scene deserves it.

----------------
Axel stared dazily at the sun setting into the sea. He was starting to feel annoyed of the never-ending sound of the ocean waves. This place was somewhere at the outskirts of Twilight Town. At the end of the long track snaking out of Twilight Town lie a beach. The beach that Roxas and his friends could not visit.
As Axel tried to get off the driftwood he was sitting on, he grimaced when a rush of pain came into his ribs.
"Owowowow.... Sheesh, he could have pulled back a bit, you know..."
The injuries Roxas gave him at that time have still not healed up. He sat back on the driftwood, setting his elbows on his lap and stared off at the ocean waves again.
He wasn't sure what to do from then on. From that point, he was already branded a traitor. Not because he went against orders, but because he couldn't accomplish them. He was already suspected for being the only survivor in the Castle Oblivion events. He definitely was not expecting to be able to get back to the Organization and still stay in one piece.
"Now what to do...?"
Just as he was about to stand up to make a stretch, Axel's eyes flinched at the glaring sunset. The red sea. And sky. The ocean waves washing ashore began to wet Axel's shoes.
"Axel."
Suddenly being called out from behind, Axel turned around in surprise. And there stood...
"Namine..."
Axel's body stiffened up in vigilance, but Namine made a worried smile.
Behind Namine stood a man, standing there as if protecting her. He wore clothes like the Organization members, but was not one of them. Axel knew that, at least. And that man was most likely the man he met in front of the mansion.
Axel forced his aching body to move, preparing his chakrams.
"That's not what I'm here for, Axel."
Namine turned to the man behind her. To show that he did not mean harm, he languidly left his hands on both of his sides. Axel took a deep breath and sat back on the driftwood.
"You. Your name?"
".... Ansem."
"Ansem? No way in hell."
Ansem, or more like Riku, just shrugged.
"What's there in a name? I want to make a trade with you."
Not showing any reaction to Riku's words, Axel stayed staring at him.
----------------

And that's it. The book went back to focus on Sora heading towards the Mysterious Tower and then it ended there. What is this 'trade' Riku mentioned of? It wasn't in the game, was it? >_>; But dangit, this makes me want to read the next book already. Apparently the next book's release date is in June? Such a long wait...

Now here's a topic that everyone likes to make theories on: What they meant by "Nobodies don't have hearts."

According to one of Axel's monologues, Nobodies say they don't have 'hearts' but that doesn't meant they don't feel anything. It's just that they all know they are incomplete beings that are missing something, and that something being the 'heart' makes the most sense to them, so that's what they call it. I remember someone on GameFAQs once said a long time ago "All Nobodies do have feelings. It's just that there's that nagging feeling at the back of their head that something's missing, so that's what drove to them to want to be 'complete.'" Whoever you are, you're correct.

Also, it turned out Roxas still didn't remember his past as an Organization member even after getting those flashbacks, so that's why he still wasn't that sympathetic to Axel after their 2nd battle. And in case some of you AkuRoku fangirls are wondering, yes, Roxas did hear Axel saying "That's not true... I would (miss you)." He just pretended to not hear Axel because he couldn't believe that Axel was really sad. But he finally understood how Axel felt after the 2nd battle...

Conclusion: Besides everything I've said about the book so far, it also made me love Riku a lot more now. Welcome to my Top 5 Fave KH2 Characters List, Riku.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

I've read through most of the KH1 manga at the local comic store and online. Basically, the manga's a shortened version of the game with a few additions that often give it an, um...cutesy anime feel. Very anime-ish jokes, expressions, inclusion of little four-panel gags at the end, stuff like that. Not completely out of place, just a bit...different. Personally, I thought the artwork was good. It was flexible enough to include original (Sora and co.), Disney, and FF characters without making any of them look horribly out of place, and well...it was just really damn cute.

The manga's moooooostly the same as the game though, yes. There's some scenes that are expanded, some are condensed or left out to move the plot along faster, and a lot of minor details that are tweaked, often in a very cute/funny way. (Example: When Sora and co. are in Hollow Bastion getting ready to lock the keyhole, the Behemoth storms out... Only to be blasted away by Cid with a souped up laser when he, Aerith, Leon, and Yuffie rush in. Sora has sort of a o_O reaction, and they just tell him to hurry up and lock the keyhole.) The beginning seems the most expanded, with more interaction between Sora, Riku, and Kairi before Destiny Island is destroyed.

Still, despite the tweaks and additions, an awful lot of the manga is straight out of the game. Especially towards the end. Is that a good thing? It depends. There's some scenes that stay faithful to the game yet still manage to add enough of a twist to avoid feeing repedative. But there's a lot of scenes where the dialogue in the manga is word-for-word what it was in the game, repeating without adding anything new or interesting. The only time I found that useful was for a few scenes from Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix that weren't in the NA game release, so it helps fill in a few holes for people who haven't seen FM's extra plot scenes. Otherwise, it's a bit annoying. We've already listened to Ansem's "ZOMG DARKNESS!!11" speech in the game; do we really need to hear it again, word-for-word, in manga form?

Anyway, that's just my impression of the KH1 manga. Cute, faithful to the games while often adding interesting new twists, more of an anime feel (if that appeals to you). But a lot of scenes walk a fine line between "faithful to the game" and "repeating the same damn conversation from the game word-for-word". It's something I'd really recommend reading before buying. You can read the first volume or so for yourself here or here, and the Chain of Memories manga here.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

There's a rumour going on that Vjump magazine in Japan will announce Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix in their next issue. Final Mix is the name of the international version of Kingdom hearts 1, which was released after the American version was out, with bonus features and boss fight.

Source of rumour: http://blog.livedoor.jp/odeko_06/archives/50672010.html

http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/ps2/game/516587.html

Head to the final mix changes guide for more info.

I'm personally excited about the news, (remember, in the first final mix, we got a LONGER secret trailer that became KH2), but its still just a rumour.

IF it is true, then the possiblities are these, thanks to the Nomura inteview from the KH2 Ultimania:

1) He would like to put back in Mushroom Heartless
2) Staff had stated that they wanted to put back the dead 13th order members from COM as optional boss fights
3) The scene where Sora meets Roxas in the final world will be an actual boss fight instead of a cutscene. It was intended as a fight but was changed to a scene due to schedule and budget reasons.

Let's hope that this is true.

Too bad I never get anything online, thus I never get these Final Mix's. Sigh, maybe I'll decide to not be lazy for once depending on how good this turns out, assuming it's true.

OMG~~~ Hey Kairi, do you have a larger scan of the magazine... I wanna read the infos ^ ^

But it does seems like the extended ending got a sneak preview in it ^ ^
Haha, so does the remake of the COM battle card system getting implemented in PS2 version

Also looking towards the right, it seems like FFXII will have a DS game... a new adventure with Vaan and Penelo called "Revanant Wings" (Direct rough trans). Something about a discovery of a new sky-land after Vaan succeded his dream as a sky pirate. New adventure begins

Personally I'm interested in this "Street RPG" called It's A Wonderful World. I love the style. Kind of Jet Set Radio meets Nomura.

Dammit, why must Japan insist on always having the best version?

This is why all future games need to be online, so we can download updates like these instead of re-purchasing the whole thing.

So I guess it's pretty safe to assume we'll never see this stateside and will have to again depend on fan sites to understand the extras? Just like with KH1? ._.

And oh boy, the knight has blue eyes. I wonder who that could possibly be! /sarcasm
