PS3 in say.. two years? Nevermind that they release good games after a year or so.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Wii60 for me.

Wii - Cheap. I mean, it's Nintendo. How can their consoles not be cheap? Plus, VC, a new way of playing games..I'm excited.

360 - I liked what the original Xbox offered. However, the games I see now that are coming out in the near future look promising.

So..Wii first. Then 360 after a price drop. PS3, you ask? Well..if and whenever the price drops down to $200, we'll talk.

I didn't vote because I am not sure I will get a Wii yet, I will wait until they actually show GAMES and see some reviews. PS3 is purely retarded and I already have a 360. So I vote for 360 and maybe Wii.

Well I'm definately getting a Wii. Cheap price + Out of the box, original new idea + old-retro games + generally being well recieved by 3rd parties = Major Wiin! (sorry, I had to)

I'm thinking I wanna also get a 3rd system but I'm not sure if it's gonna be a 360 or a PS3. Time will tell.

Wii.

1) Pre GCN, PS2 and XBOX generation I was a N-fanboy that was iffy about the GC. I lost my interest in Nintendo only and got caught up with the other consoles. Wii's prospects won me back into fanboy-ness (minus the dogish-ness to only play one system).

2) Games. Even though the Wii is underpowered, some games that have been announced look quite beautiful like Super Mario Galaxy, Heroes and Rayman (which actually looks quite nice)

3) New way of playing. Like what 64 did for games. Nuff said.

4) VC and backward compatibility. 7 consoles worth of games in a box.

I won't be buying a PS3 or X360 cause my cousins will be buying them. I'll just play it on their system if I want to.

I voted for Wii and PS3. The PS3 part is pretty teetering on the edge though. It's totally dependant as to whether or not they can get some decent looking games out, and when the price comes down. On the other hand me and 4 of my friends have plands to camp out for the Wii.

I'm pretty positive towards the Wii. I think it will do good things to the gaming world.

I can't totally write off the ps3 so i will be getting that one too.

Im goin' Wii all the way. Im hoping to get it release day. I love the fact that it's having the ability to download the old games (ORIGINAL PERFECT DARK ALL THE WAY!!!). I also have been a nintendo fanboy for all these years (though shame on me, I wavered when I originally saw the Wiimote). Im also getting the Wii because I can actually AFFORD it.

Quite possibly none.

I got college to bother with so maybe one of my friends might get it for their room, but I doubt I'll bother with any of these systems for a bit.

Perhaps a Wii, if I find myself with time to spend on the system, though I'm sure I'll buy a PS3...sometime in the future (though after the Wii).

I am going to wait & see, but I would probably have to say Wii. The Xbox 360 does not have any exclusive games I can't live without, nor will it ever because of PC ports. By the time they port 360 games to PC they are cheaper, so that's even better. Sony's current business strategy is, at this point in time, insane imho...

I'm leaning towards 599 US dollars. Depends on the game selection.

Microsoft pinched Rare. And along with it Perfect Dark.

In fact, I think Microsoft are planning to release PD64 on Xbox live arcade, am I correct?? Well, that was from last time I heard about it.

But yeh, the reason I am not buying the PS3 is because apart from the Tekkens and Metal Gears, nothing else really interests me. Xbox never really had games that appealled to me and 360 hasn't improved on this aspect either. Maybe it's the lack of "Japanese"?

So Wii!!!

Why not just vote? It's not like you'll be arrested for then acting outside of what you voted. I mean I'll probably get a 360 or PS3 at some point in time.

Oh I and there was this thing called E3 a while back, they showed some Wii games and some people even wrote about them. Read it all on your nearest interent.

I second this. Those are my exact reasons for getting the Wii first, then the PS3 a few months later (need some time to drop the price a little, it's WAY too expensive for me).

I already have a 360. In retrospect, I probably could have still done without one for a while. In fact, I haven't even played mine for over a month. The only game I really got into it for was Oblivion, which I could have played on my PC (albeit with a might upgrade required). There really isn't much else for it that's a must-play for me, especially when excluding games that I could get for PC. Nevertheless, I'm sure some great stuff will pop up for it soon enough.

I will be getting the Wii at launch. No questions asked. The Wii launch line-up looks better than the entire first year of 360 or PS3 (judging by what I saw from E3 2006).

I have no current plans to buy the PS3. It will require the release of mutiple blockbuster games and a price drop of at least $100 before I pick one up. For all those people talking about RPGs... Who even knows when FFXIII is coming out? Could be 2008 for all we know.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Wii is a must. It's already been explained a million times. 360 has some bitchin' games coming out for it and I can really see myself getting one if I don't spend all my money on Wii games first. I really think I'll eventually get a 360 and a PS3 but PS3 is last on the list unless I decide to get two at launch to sell one on Ebay for MASSIVE DAMAGE. I have the money to get them all it's just a matter of how I'd rather spend that money sequentially. So yeah Wii > 360 > PS3. Except for possible cash benefits from selling a PS3 on ebay that's how I see it going down.

I find it refreshing how civil this thread is so far.

Actually... I've changed my vote. The next-generation console I'm going to buy is... Dreamcast.

No joke: http://www.gamingforce.com/forums/ge...dreamcast.html

The PS3 pricetag is pretty nasty no matter what features it holds in. An expensive car is an expensive car even if it comes with a toaster. I'm still interested in it because of Fumito Ueda's next project. The very thought of what he can do with all that alleged PS3 power makes my knees weak. I don't think I'll be able to afford the console for ages now, but I'm definitely going to get one once I can.

The Wii will be a purchase without question. There's not that large an amount of confirmed titles I'm going to pick up, but the Virtual Console alone is a huge incentive. So long as Nintendo realizes to release those controller replicas for sale in local stores as well, that is.

If given the chance, I would get a PS3 and a Wii. But with my current financial situation, I think I won't be getting ahold of any of those till 5-7 years from now.

Unless Q would send me some money. (omg)

Being the Nintendo fanboy that I am, I am currently only planning on getting the Wii (although I will wait for at least one price drop) since Nintendo never fails to produce some high quality titles (and this generation there seems to be a significant increase in third party support, so that is also a big plus).

Right now there simply are no games for the Xbox 360 that I am interested in (or Xbox for that matter), and the PS3's price is just way too high for me to even consider (although when the PS3 mini comes out and there are enough good games for it, I will consider making a purchase).

I definitely plan on getting all of them at some point. I'm planning it out that I'll get the X-box 360 soon. Microsoft hasn't announced any price drop at all, not even at when Wii/PS3 come out since, e.g. the PS3 price will create a "virtual price drop" anyway (their words, not mine). They wouldn't announce one anyway until the very last moment anyway to deter people like me from waiting until a price drop. They got me, so I won't wait, though wishful thinking has me heoping for some announcement in the next few weeks.

I'm definitely getting a Wii. On its release date. Or else. And like every game. Like. Like. Like. Yeah.

Then at some point later, the evil PS3. No current plans as to how and when this'll come to be though.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Why we think the PS3 is not worth your money (and the Wii60 is).

This is an in-depth article my friend wrote about why he doesn't think the PS3 is worth your money. The Wii60 is a much more sensible and fun investment. He wanted to get out all his feelings on the next-generation consoles. It is a long read but worth your time. Please support gaming and spread the word, gamers will take this kind of abuse from companies.

I would have posted it here but it's very long so I had to just link to it. You can read the article here:

Without getting into a "which system will be better" debate, I'll state that I'm interested in both the PS3 and the Wii, and that I have plans to own both.

The real question though is which system I'll be getting first. This has been a question looming on my mind recently. I felt that timing would have a factor in things when the Wii was rumored to come in October (a full month before PS3), but now current rumors have it placed in November again.

I think the most important factor will be which system has the better launch lineup. But even taking that into account, I'll likely be getting the PS3 first, because...

1. It might be the more scarce of the two systems, taking months for Sony to release further shipments after the first batch sell.

2. It has the most features to play around with if you didn't get a launch game. Blu Ray player, enhanced PS2 games, and whatever else they'll be tossing in.

3. It's the most expensive of the two.

Number 3 puzzling you? That's because usually, thanks to relatives and a jar of coins I always cash in by year's end, I almost always accumulate around $200 in Christmas money. So that's when I can make my move and purchase the Wii shortly after (and if I'm lucky like I was with the DS, I know a certain Nintendo-owned website that should have extra shipments if the system sells out in stores).

A word of advice for those of you hoping for a PS3 price drop; it isn't going to happen before MGS4 hits. So ask yourselves if you can wait an extra 6 months or more once the game launches. I know I can't.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.
