Config error, alot of the ISO options were disabled. Thanks!

Holy crap, the framerate is amazing! Or is it my firmware config?

Damn the demo is fun, and creepy. I ususally WATCH my Boyfriend play SH... I don't play too much myself, but I'm loving this new combat system.

And looks like the developers got some ideas from Dead Rising. TV in your face, Nurse Bitch!

Lighting, graphics, ambience, video filter effects, music, sound... This is defintly gonna be a great addition to the SH series!

Thanks for uploading the rip, Sexninja. Although the quality could be better, it's great to get to listen to it at all.

Nonetheless, I'm looking forward to your edit, Killy.

The rip is up, just follow the link in my signature to my gamerips thread and you'll find the server info there. I have no PSP, so I was unable to give the songs appropriate titles. However, I edited (normalised, looped where possible) all the songs and encoded in VBR. Total playtime is roughly 3 hours, which is alot for a demo.

That's because the demo apparently contains the entire game. Props to the mole inside Konami who leaked it.

edit: Which has been stated by Rock already =(

Hmm, too bad the game isn't out then, someone could've worked on a proper tracklist.

Here's a bunch of screenshots:

The visual detail is just stunning. Also note how the flashlight is casting real-time shadows for all objects.

Those screenshots make me think the PSP is just a bit more powerful than the PS1 was? At any rate, they look really splendid. When I look at all the PSP software out there compared to the DS software, and factor in the recent PSP price drop, it boggles my mind why the PSP isn't doing better against the DS.

There have been a whole lot of excellent PSP games lately and they all look an awful lot better than PS1 games. Remember that PS1 didn't have texture filtering, so everything was really pixelated. Granted, the PSPs weakness is the limited graphics memory (2 MB), so a lot of these textures are blurry.

Looking at Silent Hill Origins and upcomming titles such as Wipeout Pulse and God of War, I would say PSP graphics are a lot closer to PS2 than they are to PS1, actually.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I'm actually very impressed with how good it looks from the demo. The framerate was surprisingly smooth, and the flashlight looked amazingly good. I never thought we'd see realtime lighting effects of this caliber out of the PSP, especially after seeing how much Splinter Cell was downgraded. The gameplay seemed like classic Silent Hill, but with a few updates and refinements. Wonder how long the full game will be.

Oh, and the PSP seems to be right smack dab between the PS1 and PS2 in terms of performance. The resolution, textures, effects, polygons, etc. all are pretty much right between the two systems. Although the recent firmware updates which allow games to run at 333mhz will probably push it a bit closer to the PS2 in that area.

Hey did anyone get it today? Got mine earlier so I'm looking into the intro. Not bad so far. The man Travis Grady doesn't look to have that gloomy look like in the demo but during in-game, sort of. He's that cool dude >=p.

So did anyone get the game or tomorrow?

I'd rather keep the tuition money for something else ;p. I'm still into the same place where the demo starts you off. Just play the iso. Tomorrow I'm going to grab that component cable to check and see how the game looks on my hdtv..

Spoiler:
The meeting with Michael Kaufman was actually a bit longer than the demo.

well I just finished the game and got the good ending. I have to say the experience was very good!. A very solid silent hill game.

The story could maybe have been better, but it was still good.

Now I'm going for the bad ending, I saw the CG on youtube but I would like to finished the game with the bad ending just in case it's explain more.

the only thing the game miss, is more disturbing scene. there wasn't memorable scene like in the other or when there's some it wasn't really well made (the butcher scene was done very too quickly I think)

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Can someone help me? I'm in the sanitaruim.

Spoiler:
I just drained the tub + the key. I'm in the Other World, and in the East Pipe room. I read that the INTERVIEW ARCHIVES KEY should be here. But I don't see it. I see a goatse-like hole on the floor. Nice.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

ok I put it in spoiler that just in case

Spoiler:
I don't remember exactly how you got there, but you have to go in the bathroom on the floor immediately below the tub(you need to past by the other world to get to that bathroom). When in the bathroom you'll find a toilet that is blocked with god know what (a classic in SH series), so you need to flush the toilet which will flush the key too. The key will than fall in the basement and you'll need to go in the other world basement to get there (because you will not be able to reach the key in the normal basement)

I hope it will help a little XD

I loved the game from the beginning. The visuals are STUNNING and the score by Yamaoka is also very good. Now I'm at the hotel and I'm trying to kill the boss there. I think that I'm nearly at the end of the game though

If you really wanna know:

Spoiler:
The hotel area is the last area of the game. There is a small mini stage left, but you're pretty much at the last half hour or so.

So how long it took everyone on their first playthrough? Honestly, it was 4 hours and 55 mins for me. I wasn't going to expect a shitload of areas because its Silent Hill, a town where you lurk around the same streets but end up in new places. Overall I loved the game with its melee system and story.

Spoiler:
Ending was pretty nice. Good to know that Travis was able to get out of SH after that bullshit. The boss wasn't hard so I had more than enough bullets to have fun against this demon. You can even go melee on this fucker =].

So I guess it was Alessa who put that baby in Harry's wife. Good to hear his voice but it sucks so hard to know the fate of Harry in SH3..

I'll probably go through my second playthrough since I obtained NVG and the "Infinity Gauntlet" XD. Time to kill everyone THANOS STYLE XD.

I´m somewhere in the theater and I absolutely love the game. The one thing I have to critisize is that Origins is just not a very portable game.

It´s not just that dark areas can be hard to see if you play in the sunlight or that loud surroundings like commuter trains hurt the sound of the game. It´s that you need to have a pen and a piece of paper with you to take notes for the puzzles.

Well, the only alternative I can think og would be to dumb everything down so you don´t have to combine bits of information anymore. Hm - better not.

There's nowhere I can't reach.
Everything´s getting better.
Nothing´s getting good.
