*generic joke about Darth Vadars death noise being "NOOOOOO" here* anywho someone mentioned this to me earlier today, I honestly thought he was joking until I saw this thread.
This is the most wtf random crossover ever since kingdom hearts, ok I take it back almost nothing is as random as that, but still compared to the heihachi/link/spawn thing this is a pretty bold move. I would have liked to have attended the meeting when they made this crossover wtf cameos decision ![]() I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
too stupid idea, they think will buy more copies if doing this.there other characters better than starwar characters for games & anime.
I was speaking idiomatically. |
Yeah, I reckon. I'd love to see the Toxic Crusader in Soul Calibur 5, he's got a mop, he's set.

I'd love to see Widget the World Watcher as the Inferno-type character

I love how people are taking issue with the lack of realism in these games now that lightsabers have been introduced. I don't remember anyone crying and kicking up a fuss when a big fucking sword through the chest didn't kill people previously. Most attacks these characters make would probably kill, if not incapacitate, the other fighter. Since when have beat'em ups ever been about realism of their actions and weapons?
I loved playing as Link in SC2 so I say bring it on. I think it's a shame if they are doing the Vader in the PS3 version and Yoda in the Xbox version thing; I'll most likely be picking up the 360 version but who wouldn't want to play as Vader. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
"A long time ago in a galaxy far far away" LOL YOU ARE SO WRONG IDIOT! The Penny Arcade podcast regarding this is classic too, I recommend you all listen to it. They have fun conceiving crazy ideas for how the tales of souls and swords eternally retold gathered the warriors of our past. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
![]() How ya doing, buddy? |
Dizzy, I'd buy that version of Soul Calibur even if it was on N-Gage. Propped!

In spite of the game's design being influenced by total anime faggotry, my copy of the PS3 LE has been preordered, and I am ready to see how they have managed to ruin the franchise this time around.
My only purpose for playing online is to kill anyone that uses the anime characters. I was speaking idiomatically. ![]() |

The Star Wars characters are just guest just like SC2 (Spawn, Link, Heihachi). They don't affect the story. Bonus character are just waste of space, though Ashlotte and Shura look to have some potential. Too bad their moveset ruin them. Atleast it's better than Necrid.

So I played through Arcade mode and quite frankly, the Apprentice is an overpowered motherfucker. I fought him with Xianghua, and ideally they should have about the same reach. It was Talim against Kilik. His Force powers are ridiculous and he has crazy uber juggle combos.
Gotta say I'ma be hatin' on the Apprentice. Love the game otherwise though. FELIPE NO Reading -- Bleach, Claymore, Chun Rhang Yhur Jhun, NOW, Zero: Beginning of the Coffin, Black God, Twelve Kingdoms (novels), History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi Watching -- Bleach Playing -- Fable II, Valkyria Chronicles, Guitar Hero: World Tour, Star Ocean: First Departure, LittleBigPlanet, MegaMan 9, Mirror's Edge |
Yeah, I was playing the game at my friend's house earlier.
Using Xianghua myself, everything went pretty smooth up until the 7th Stage. Once I got to The Apprentice, that fucker wouldn't stop at anything to kill me. <_< Ended up not beating him since we were gonna play some other modes and create some characters. But I have to say, the Character Creation in this one is a hell of a lot better than SC III. Much, much deeper. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
I've always loved the Soul Calibur games, Soul Blade is about the best fighting game of all time in my opinion.
I'd love to get this but the shitty d-pad on the 360 is really putting me off. Does anyone know if there's any decent arcade sticks you can get for 360 or a third party controller where the d-pad doesn't suck huge, hairy goat balls? How ya doing, buddy? ![]() ![]() |
Dunno about controllers, but there's a SCIV themed Hori arcade stick out, looks pretty solid!
![]() Not sure if it's just an American released thing though. Thinkin' about picking up the game tomorrow, seems like forever since I've played a decent 3D fighter! There's nowhere I can't reach. |
I went up against the Apprentice with Yoda to unlock him, beat him first shot. Perfected him the first round.
I'm also digging the character creation. The fact that they kept in Random Generated Character in the character select screen is just icing on the cake. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. ![]() |
I plan to pick this up on Friday, given that I've enjoyed the previous games. Online matches might be interesting among friends, but I fully acknowledge my suckage at fighting games, and I'll probably be slaughtered.
Is Yoda as cheap as I've heard he is? IGN said half the attacks miss him because he's so short; if that's the case everyone will be spamming Yoda online (Toon Link, Final Destination, no items, etc.) How ya doing, buddy? |
While yoda is hard to hit while he's standing around, the majority of his move list has him jumping around like a cock bite. Because of that, he's slow as shit.

I was actually surprised to see SC IV feature online playability since I didn't read much pre-release news on it purposely, so that's a welcome surprise, although I think I'll practice my Xianghua more before I even try to go online.
So far, the most notable part of SC IV for me is the character creation. All the colour changing options, accessories, and even voice pitch and skill modification capabilities can have you spending hours if you want to tweak your characters to the max. It's also pretty cool how you can make your own character and have them fight exactly like an existing character, instead of just a predetermined moveset that's weapon specific. How ya doing, buddy? |
One little thing about the Character Creation that I'm happy about is that when you choose Voldo's style for your character, they still talk. Unlike in the last game where the characters just grunt, groaned, and yelled.
I really need to get my 360 from my cousin so I could purchase this game myself. I haven't missed a Soul Calibur game yet, and I don't plan to miss out on one now. ![]() Online isn't too bad either, but everyone and their mother (that I've noticed) whored out The Apprentice and Yoda. Oh, and Duel of the Fates battle music for the fucking win. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
The online online gaming I did on Soul Calibur was against a dude that was whoring out Siegfried's 2B. Honestly, Starkiller isn't that bad at all. Just gotta teach learn how to zone him.

I've been practicing my Kilik, Combos are still hard to pull as well, But then again soul Calibur is not about combos its about hard hitting shots you pull off.
Still i'll purchase a subscription today to play with ya, Xbox live tag would be LiquidSnack This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
