[PS2] Ace Combat Thread (a.k.a. We Do Not Have Air Superiority)

Lix: Being, you know, an AC thread, I kinda didn't bring up Katamari and Warhammer. This isn't in the MW yet.

That said, I am jealous that this news dropped when I was sleeping. Remind me never to sleep again. And Rock is right, AC has never used real world symbols before. Could just be placeholder textures or something for the time being. (also much more elaborate real life aerial photography exists. You'd be surprised at what's out there.)

LMAO too funny. Yeah Over G was pretty bad. However it did decent in sales despite that. Perhaps Namco saw it that if that many people on the 360 would buy that crappy flying game, imagine how many would buy a good one?

Skills: That's F'n bull man. Just because there isn't a tool to do it for you like the 360, VOIP isn't all that hard to do really. Developers need to stop bitching about how "X" system is hard to program for and how "Y" system is easier and do their damn job man. Hell I hated how hard it was working at Wendy's however I never even got one of thoes auto-sweeping robot things to help me out, so why do thoes pussies get to cut corners. Ah well, was gonna get it on the 360 anyway, need something other then GoW to play on the 360.

I wouldn't call it bull, exactly. It's not the developers' faults that Microsoft gives them all the tools and support they want/need while Sony kind of goes "ho hum everyone's going to buy our shit anyways."

That's not exactly the case. Sony has their tool called Sony edge which allows developers a framework to program in just like how the 360 has it's software. Difference with the online is though however is that Sony doesn't troll the online protocol like MS. MS gives you capabilities and thoes rules you HAVE to follow. This is why user content will never be possible for games on the 360 where the PS3 version of Unreal Tournament 3 will have user and MOD support. Also things like folding@HOME also isn't possible on the 360 due to first party restrictions. So while the PS3 may be a bit harder to program for, everything and more is possible on the PS3 that the 360 can do. And like I said if developers would stop acting like it's their choice to make a game feature full or not and start regarding it as their job like they should then things like this would not be an issue.
