I've been playing Castlevania: Symphony of the Night a lot on my PSP. For some reason, I never got around to finishing it on my PS1 and the PSP seems like the perfect platform for a game like this.

I just figured out the OE-B plugin system so I made a few screenshots:

Oh and this is pretty much the best PopStation converter GUI out there:

I don't really know if that tut that Sepharite posted about the PSP ISOs through the computer was meant to be used with OE-B. Does anyone have a link for OE-B? Plus USBHOSTfs on that tut was removed from Rapidshare, so that sorta sent me up the creek. =/

PSOne emulation couldn't be any better. I grabbed that Hot Shots Golf 2 (forgot who posted it, sorry), threw that PBP and KEY.bin into a folder, and boots right up.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

It's weird. Apparently, popstation already has a built image convert - changes the images from HSG2 to whatever.

And yes, I loaded the PSP ISOs through USBHOSTfs yesterday. There should be a link in Ahman (the creator)'s site. Keep searching =P

And no problem Lol, I posted the BASE =)

edit: Took me 5 seconds to search on google:

This guide is for loading ISOs with DevHook. I wonder how that would work with OE-B and PSP EBOOTs ...

Then again, I have a 2 GB Memory Stick, so I don't have to bother with such workaround solutions. Who wants to play games with their PSP connected to a computer, anyhow?

Yeah, I found both of those files already. For some reason, USBHOSTfs give me an "unknown command 8FFc0013" and the PSP in IR Shell proceeds to freeze, forcing me to hard boot.

Hmmm. Popstation doesn't seem to be very happy when it comes to rips. There's a site www.romscentral.com that has a bunch of them. I downloaded Tekken 2, managed to skip past the intro (seeing that there was none, hence a rip), got to the player select screen, but it froze on me there. Damn I can't wait to get a gig stick. =/

The emulator offers three display modes: original, normal and full screen.

Normal mode increases the resolution to fit vertically and keeps the original aspect while full screen obviously stretches the game to use the entire widescreen display.
I'm using normal mode for my games. Some don't fully use the PS1's vertical resolution so they have a tiny black bar on top and bottom.

Heh, you grabbed it off that site I mentioned? www.emuparadise.org has a few ISOs itself, albeit full rips.

Additional Spam:
Oh yeah, I decided to try out that tutorial at Afterdawn forums for the USBHOSTfs, and it worked flawlessly on my OE-B fw. The dh escape even works no problem. Now I just need to get a WiFi card, cuz I hate having to be tied to my computer through the USB cable.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Nope, I got it off BT. >P I tried Megaman X on your site and it gave me an error so I didn't bother with the other roms. I'll try later, thanks for the site, btw. =) Oh and the Vagrant rars to 700+ MBs.

I use full-screen. It makes it look less pixelated and more smooth... less clear, but I liek.

edit: For Nethost, does anyone know where I could get the 1.0 Firmware dumps? Specifically:
- ms0:/IRSHELL/SYSTEM/ifhanlde.prx
- ms0:/IRSHELL/SYSTEM/pspnet.prx
- ms0:/IRSHELL/SYSTEM/pspnet_apctl.prx
- ms0:/IRSHELL/SYSTEM/pspnet_inet.prx
- ms0:/IRSHELL/SYSTEM/pspnet_resolver.prx

Additional Spam:
I was wondering, can the PSP play DIVX .avi video files? Or do I always have to convert it to the specific format needed>

I swapped my old psp for a new one today. It had dead pixels anyways so I wasn't that attached. But now I can run homebrew and oh god does it make this thing even more usefull.

Also, Star Ocean 2 + PSP = <3

I just wish I had a bigger memory stick. Not even 2GB is enough to hold a multi disc game + all the homebrew I have now. :\

I got a 4gb stick at Costco for about $100. I didn't think it was TOO unreasonable...but I can see how it is a little spendy. I know some people who just use multiple sticks to keep their costs down, but that seems a little tedious if you ask me.

I got a 32, 128, 512, and a 1gig stick that I bought today. I put ROMs, PSX ISOs, and Movies/Music on the latter 3. If I keep it organized, it works out.

I'm going to Florida for about a week, so I loaded up Ace Combat X, Gitaroo Man Lives!, Kill Zone: Liberation, and Loco Roco onto my 4gb stick, with Hot Shots Golf in the UMD drive. A very killer combo, and they all fit PERFECTLY (~22 mb left).

Even so, I think I may ditch Loco Roco and add some PSX isos, such as Castlevania: SOTN and/or FFVII, since I hear Loco Roco gets pretty repetitive and boring after a while...

EDIT:
Has anybody tried creating there own UMD isos? I found this guide and was thinking about trying it out, seeing as my local video rental store has a whole ton of UMD movies and games that are available to rent. This would certainly increase my collection, as I'm having a hard time finding some old PSP games that I wanted to try out...

loool and you're replacing it with FFVII? Hahaha.

I ripped a few UMDs a while back - Can't remember the name of the app I used, but PSP-Hacks hosts it, and it gives you the option of compression. Obviously deeper compression takes longer, but I wound up getting Mercury down to less than 200MB.

Can anyone help me with the PSX emulator? I updated to 3.02 ODE-B already, and now I am just having trouble getting my PSX ISOs to load.

I tried ripping my PSX ISOs with Clone CD, and then I used the ISO image with popstation to convert it to the .pbp file that the PSP reads. From there I moved the converted files (EBOOT and Keys) that I got from popstation converting my ISO into my PSP. This is where I am stuck as I don't know where to put the files? Do I create a folder and just drop them in the /game directory? Can anyone help? Thanks.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

Yes. That's exactly what you do as long as you've done everything else correctly so far.

You don't need to name the folder anything in particular.

Hold R before your turn on your PSP. Go to configuration: Make sure the Kernel is currently 3.02. Otherwise, it wouldn't load. I hope that works.

Holy shit. I just found another sweet program xD Ever heard of PiMPStreamer 0.75? It streams your movies off your wireless network. Porn could be taken anywhere around the house now <3
