I was meaning to reveal this game today. It's called Wolfsbane; a point & click adventure about a merchant that gets bitten by a werewolf, and has to find a cure before the next full moon. Otherwise, he turns into one himself and it's GAME OVER. (Do I get the point? =p)

I was trying to raise the difficulty a bit, seeing as most of my screenshots have been considerably easy to guess and of particularly known games. Guess I won't then.

Anyways, somebody else could go.

No no, that was definitely a good effort, it's just that no one seemed to be guessing, unlike usually.

I did a number of searches myself with the clues at hand, but never apparently ran into the game's title

EDIT: Oh come on, I thought this was easy!

Here's a hint: This game was awarded Best Game of the Year, 1989, by at least two different publications. Also, the character's weapon is another major clue.

Fuck, it's totally Legendary Axe. I saw the boss in the first screenshot and thought it was some Ghosts 'n Goblins game, but even though I knew that was way off the mark, I couldn't get it out of my head and think of anything else.
