I think the main argument against the Black was shown in the picture above. The white one doesn't show much in terms of fingerprints. Your only problem with the White one is the dirt. Both have their own setbacks.

Yeah, that pretty much covers it. The reason I prefer black in that situation is because the fingerprints are going to gather on the outside as shown in that picture. The inside isn't shiny like that, so dirt is the main concern there.

Spoiler:
at Elixir's switch in argument to "the color doesn't matter, just get one."

Well, it's just that you seemed to be making a huge fuss out of nothing. I've played with both black and white DS Lites, and even I haven't had this much of a problem in deciding. Ultimately I enjoy the white more because fingerprints don't show up half as much and you won't see scratches. Not that mine has any, but I've seen pictures of a scratched black DS before.

And I've been playing with the white one since the beginning of June, and it isn't even dirty yet. Then again I take care of my shit. But you're not going to buy a DS Lite for it's color, you're going to purchase it for the games.

Which is all that should really matter.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Actually, I'll be getting a DS Lite for brightness and weight since I've had a regular blue DS for about a year and a half now. It's really just a matter of opinion in the end though. I prefer the area around the controls to not have a dirty look, and other people prefer not to have the outside coated in very visible fingerprints.

I don't recall making a "huge fuss" out of anything. This all started because you said black shows more dirt than white. The only thing I'm trying to decide on is if I want to get a black DS Lite or wait to see what other colors are brought over.

Speaking of the brightness, it's pretty awesome. It's actually playable during a car ride in broad daylight. That's a big plus. Seeing that the Original DS got about as bright as Level 1 Brightness on my DS Lite, I'm glad I got a DS Lite now. The low brightness would have pissed me off to no end.

Anyways, when's the next big wave of DS games coming out? Well, not really wave, but mainly Final Fantasy III and Children of Mana. I heard November, is that correct?

How ya doing, buddy?

FFIII came out in Japan about two weeks ago, I don't remember the exact date, but I do recall it being a thursday. I believe the US release for it is Nov. 3rd...

FF III is slated for Nov. 14, and Children of Mana is Oct. 30 according to EB's site. Hopefully those won't get delayed until January like several other DS games were.

Yeah, basically from now to the end of the year is when a whole bunch of games are coming out, and a lot of them are good. Children of Mana is coming out at the end of October, and FFIII is coming out in like the middle of November.

And aside from those, you have games like Mario Hoops (this week), Mega Man ZX (this week), Mario vs. DK 2 (September), Contact (October), Magical starsign (October), Elite Beat Agents (November), Yoshi's Island 2 (November), Hotel Dusk (December), Kirby Squeak Aquad (December), and possibly Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin coming out as well.

Damn, I may actually hold off on getting a DS Lite just so I can actually get all of these games.

At the moment Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin is slated for a Dec. 5 release. It was mid-November not long ago though, so we can only hope that it won't be delayed again. Somehow I'd missed Kirby Squeak Squad though... Man, I need to find some more old gameboy cases for all of these new DS titles.

DS Games You're Looking Forward To

What DS games are you looking forward to that are going out before the year ends?
  • In order of release:
  • Mega Man ZX
  • Mario Hoops 3-on-3
  • Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Blue Rescue Team
  • Contact
  • Magical Starsign
  • Children of Mana
  • Final Fantasy III
  • Phoenix Wright: Justice For All!
Games out next year that I want:
  • Pokemon Diamond & Pearl
  • Lunar Knights
Games I hope get translated:
  • Rune Factory
Most likely I won't get all these games to due the amount of money I make but wow this years ends with loads of RPGs.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Don't forget about "Phoenix Wright: Justice For All!" coming out early next year. Creepy Puppet Man wants to talk about it, don't you?

More than anything, I'm looking forward to the new SNK vs Capcom Cardfighters. And I'm not even normally a fan of card battling games in the least.

There is a distinct lack of Touch Detective in that wanted list.

Wow... the future is looking very poor for me... funds wise that is... but very rich in the portable gaming aspects. I forgot about several of those games. I always forgot about kirby, despite the amazing ammount of fun it is.

Rising Star's releasing this in Europe early next year, so I assume an American publisher will pick it up shortly after that. Then chuck it like a shot put.

Sigh so many games, so little time to play em. Currently waiting for FF III, Children of Mana, Project Exile (?), Magical Starsign...ugh I wish they'd just come out already.

I just got my Hori screen protectors for my Lite.

If you own a DS Lite and don't have a cover on those screens, you are doing yourself a disservice every moment of the rest of your life you spend until you get the Hori screen protector pack. It feels fucking AWESOME using my stylus now.

It's amazing. The protector offers more resistance than the bare screen (so the stylus isn't slippety-sliding all over the place) yet somehow makes the screen feel completely impervious. It doesn't even get dirty very easily anymore. Finally they somehow managed to make the screen more sensitive to the stylus.

I just bought myself a pink DS lite and I'm excited~ I can't wait for it to arrive. :3 I also bought Super Mario 64 DS as well, to get things started.

I also have a GBA and I won't neglect it since the DS doesn't play older GB games but the GBA does.

I've heard only good things about Phoenix Wright so I'm planning on getting that next and then maybe New Super Mario Bros. Eeee, I'm so excited. :3 I love getting new systems! XD

Anyway, I also ordered a screen protector and extra stylus, but what case do you all recommend? I'd like one that holds a decent amount of both DS and GBA games, if it's possible. (Yes, I'm too lazy to re-read this whole thread, so please disregard this paragraph if you've already talked about cases.)

The only disappointing thing about the DS is that it doesn't have Mega Man: Powered Up. I'm not getting a PSP just for that game, but boy do I want to play it!
