Yes. That's more than enough to handle most monsters on the first four floors.

If you used the right sealstones, you could probably beat all but the last two bosses in Seraphic Gate at those levels.

How about level 60? Still at early Chapter 5 (re-did as I rushed the last saved file - the file was on Asgard).

Seraphic-Gate wise. Of course, will level up though, but I'm trying to get a good approximate.

Do you have the toughness skill? It doubles up your max HP during battles and takes 5 points of skill, but it's easy to learn.

I don't have the last green rune. If I have it, I'll learn it in a jiffy. I heard it's pretty good to have but I lack the last green rune.

Like you know, Serdberg Mountain Ruins Direct Assaults. Over and over.

So I just got done with the Ancient Forest, Turgen Mine and I'm about to go complete the Temple on the Lake. So far Alicia's level 15 and the rest of my characters are building to 13-14 range. Is this appropriate? The strategy guide suggests I level both Arngrim and Leone to 40 before the end of chapter 3. How the hell is this possible.

Is this game's emphasis on grinding? I'll bite the bullet since the premise and combat is fun, but it is kind of annoying. Any suggestions as to where to level?

I'm gonna start farming for that 1/4 sealstone. The horror of farming 30k magic crystals. It better be goddamn worth it.

That with the other attack reduce sealstone, and the positive ones like All stats 120%, 120% atk, all resistances 120% and hp recover 200%. Should be good.

do any of you use the sealstone that increases RDM by 200% but lowers attack to 3/4? seems pretty decent.

Not sure about skills yet. Maybe Toughness, First Aid and and the attack and defense boosters. So many skills, so few slots.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Doesn't that seal stone also lock out the ability to be healed? That really does not seem worth it.

Virtually yeah, it is about grinding. Hard, long grinding that's quite fun.

I also have the guide and you.. er, can get to level 40 (for Leone and Arngrim) through the last dungeon before the chapter ends. Right now, you can level up by beating the Audola boss over and over; if too much, usually Turgen. Then head for the next town and dungeon.

Don't worry though. The last dungeon will fill your time and Chapter 3 is quite long.

Audola has that Gold sealstone that gives more money, but it is tricky to get. So far for me, no absolute luck. Retrying over and over again actually. It's by the ledge towards the boss with two enemies behind the holed wall.

Kurado, you should mind as well get them to 45, especially Dylan and Lezard, you'll see why after chapter 3. Read through Scarletdeath and my posts for the prime levelling up spot in Palace of the Venerated Dragon.

In a nutshell, here's the most ideal spot Scarletdeath and I have used thus far in the game:

Palace of the Venerated Dragon --> Halo Stone --> 3 rooms westward --> attack giant enemy crab for massive experience.

Make sure you have the Share All EXP sealstone and the double EXP sealstone equipped. This way you don't get any money, which really shouldn't be a bother, but your non-combatative Einherjar will also get experience. You get the Share All EXP early in the Palace, while the double EXP sealstone in the Chateau Obsession.

Learning skills is based on the difference of levels between your characters and the enemies you fight, so I'd really suggest against using the share exp sealstone, so you can keep someone at level 1~2 and dead in the party when trying to learn new skills.

No this sealstone is one you find in one of the earlier dungeons in the game, but obviously since it needs 30k crystals there's no way you can get it then. It's just 1/4 damage output, nothing else, so it's the perfect dais sealstone.

That gold one I got. Never really use it, I haven't used money in ages. Here's what you do to get that one.

You shoot 2 photons to the top left, to the flying enemy that's there. The moment you exchange spots, jump and hold down jump, this way the enemy is floating in the air, then quickly crystalize the other enemy and keep jumping on it. Eventually the flying enemy will be in front of you and you can exchange spots with it. It's important that the floating enemy already was a bit up in the air, otherwise he'll get stuck underneath.

I remember playing the japanese version of this game where beat Iseria Queen easily just by having the 1/4 sealstone, 2X healing effect and no status ailments(including the good one).

Farming the crystal for 1/4 sealstone worth it.

Heh there's another one that reduces your damage taken by 1/4, combine that with the 1/4 damage done and the enemy will do 1/16 damage hehe. There's also a sealstone that lowers attack power by 3/4. If you boost your RDM with those two 200% ones and fortify physique you'll probably be invincible...assuming he's doing physical attacks anyway.

Well then, I better start getting to work for that thing, if I want to stand a chance in Sepheric Gate. How long would it take to get 30,000 of crystals and what is the most fastest and efficient way of doing so? I doubt this happening before I would probably get my hands on FFXII.

Furthermore, a few questions on the Sepheric Gate, since I've never achieved said level in the original Valkyrie Profile.

1) Once you go in, can you ever return to Midgard and or Asgard?

2) At what point can you enter Sepheric Gate? Is it once you've beaten the final boss of the game?

3) How does one simply walk into Mordor the Sepheric Gate?

I was speaking idiomatically.

Hell if I know. I'm still collecting 30k crystals. Only at 16k now. Best way to get them that I found so far, is get a shitload of crystals in battle. That means Rufus with Triple Edge and use the skill Killing Thorns as much as you can. They'll drop like candy. That way you get a max of 80 per battle, but even with that it takes freaking ages.

I strongly suggest you do other stuff while collecting them at the same time. I'm using this excuse to get unique equipment mobs drop there. Weapons, Armor, the works. I got level 99 on everyone ages ago. =/

1. Unlike VP1 this Seraphic Gate you can play in your normal game, it's not a seperate file that you can't use in the main game. You can join and leave whenever you want. Just a added spot on the map.

2. I'm not quite sure what triggers it. Maybe it's after the final boss, maybe it's the final dungeon. I beat the final boss first, but didn't save afterwards. You'll have to ask someone else.

3. It's pretty easy at first. It gets harder per floor. Not sure how many floors there are. I'm at the 4th floor at the moment. The puzzles however...can be a nightmare. I hope your good at photon shooting. Some of them took me 30 minutes to figure out.

It will be a nightmare getting 100% treasure on this place. I don't even want to think about finding a missing treasure...this place is HUGE.

Uh...I think I was at 96 Hours. I'll let you know when I go back to the game.

I swear it's the battle system. Like the original VP it never EVER gets boring. That's such a great feature if you can still say that after 100 hours.

I can tell you my "Just before fighting final boss" savegame ended at 69 hours. So yeah SG can take a lot of time.

I think it was only that I got to the last dungeon in chapter 6, that I realized I could actually pull the camera towards to group for a tight angle shot for a chase camera, which looked very cool, yet it's difficult to navigate with such a low camera angle. As for crystals, I'm thinking of going back to the Palace of the Venerated Dragon, there I will be able to not kill the Dragon in one hit, but rather "play" with the dragon and juggle him in the air for a bit. Either that or I downgrade my weapons for a not-so-instant kill.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Apparently in the Hall of Drama

Spoiler:
So it seems that Lezard was playing the strings all along. He, uh, used a teleportation spell to capture Silmeria by Chapter 4's end, now he uses a soul transfusion spell to form an ultimate god and steals Gungnir.. did I get that right? Again, more drama between Alicia and Doofus, Ring fell, Alicia got it back.. ...wait, so Alicia had remnants of Silmeria's capability of object reading after Lezard steals Odin's soul and weapon? Is that right?

Now onto Valdrama, they meet Arngrim, THANKFULLY HE GOES BACK DAMNIT. So Alicia has a new finish (is it because she had object reading or what?) and Doofus (because he died?). I'M UTTERLY CONFUSED.

Alicia tops at 72 now, doing rounds of training until I get Arngrim to 60-ish. Or 55. With Toughness, she's pretty much the highest right now.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Well if your using Rufus you don't really have to worry about damage, since Killing thorns is pretty shit damage wise, but with triple edge, and maybe double edge as well it will hit a LOT. like a dragon at the side? you'll easily hit 50 times from killing thorns alone. There's a bow that has double hit as well. Equip that and your set.

Just make sure you use a move that launches the enemy in the air before killing thorns hits and it will be raining crystals. I always use Alicia's Imperious Act to launch them just as rufus fires it, and usually end up with 80 crystals richer. But since mobs can guard from the front it's safer to go in the back or sides, but you should know this by now.

And err...I never changed camera ever. Just moving it a bit left or right. How do you even do that?

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Killing Thorns may be shit but hell, not only it nets you good amount of crystals when the enemy is launched up in the air (I get this a lot in the current dungeon), but with double edge it adds AP to the bar dramatically, making it useful. Still, shit-ass damage.

If not Alicia's Imperious Act, then it is the usual Tri-Crusade.

Sure it's shit damage wise but amount of hits you nail with it, and the purple and blue crystals...oh yes it's a keeper. I should try to use only killing thorns instead of 2 other attacks see what happens.
