It's as official as it gets now. Atlus has announced Persona 3: FES.

What's better is that not only is it the original game PLUS FES (Not just the append disk), it comes at the bargain price of $30.

The game will be released April 22nd, just in time for my final exams! Great!
Haha lol... budget gamers win again!

After all the critical acclaim, I guess I can't not pick this up. Even web sites that don't raise much cane about RPGs have been all over this title...

How ya doing, buddy?

I guess this makes the original release only worth it if one wanted the artbook and soundtrack that came with it, since I don't see any mention of those two things being released with this version that's coming in April. Or maybe Atlus just hasn't announced that yet, and is waiting till it gets closer to the release date to kick all us early adopters in the groin again

Seriously though, I'm glad more folks will be able to play this game. Even though I haven't completed it, it's still a very fun and addicting game to get into. I'm also glad to see something that seemed unlikely to come over here make it. More reasons why I like Atlus.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

Thank you Guest for the kickass signature!

I really wanted to play this game but the fact that I don't have a lot of money, there was always something else that passed before this. Now I'm happy that they a re-releasing it with the FES update, I'll be even more incline to buy it!

It's either marketing strategy or Atlus was still unsure to publish Fes last year. Since persona and shin megaten series hasn't gained much popularity, maybe they wanted to test the market by launching the persona 3 first.

Since it appears many appreciated Persona 3, and they don't have much games to translate either, I guess we are lucky they eventually pick Fes.

I'm still wondering though, could we still import our saved data in the us version eventually? Will they release an independent starting version and not just an append disk? And with the news of Fes will be released, wouldn't it potentially hurt persona 3 sales? If I were someone who hasn't bought the original Persona 3, I would prefer to wait for Fes to be released.

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

I don't think there's much of a reason to worry about Persona 3 sales anymore. P3 has become pretty difficult to find these days, and that's impressive considering I saw a lot more of it than other SMT games and in more stores than I expected.

As for save data transfers, isn't it possible to use clear data on the normal version to start a new game+ in FES? I haven't looked into it, but I'd assume so since it's being brought over as the normal game with an append disc. I'll be a little annoyed if I can't cart over the stuff I've gotten in my first run-through, but not too upset.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

So America gets FES a month after Europe gets the original? That's awesome. Especially seeing as it turns out the only language option avaliable in the Euro version is English, making the eight month delay even more mind boggling. Publishers. <3

Person 3 FES in his US version will include the original game + the FES update and I read that it will be possible to transfer our save date from the original in FES even if you don't have a clear data.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

No need to worry. You can transfer your original P3 data into the FES. You'll keep all the social stats (Courage, Charm, Academics), key times needed for special fusions, discovered fusion spells list and your persona compendium but they'll all be at their base stats. The best part is that you don't even have to finish the original.

Atlus USA :: View topic - Persona 3 FES FAQ (READ BEFORE POSTING)

This should clear almost everything up about FES.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

No you're right, FES is for festival.
I knew it stood for Festival, I was just questioning whether it was mentioned somewhere in the thread before that it WAS festival.

Additional Spam:
And phew as far as transferring stuff in:

Quote:
8. Can I continue my game of Persona 3 in Persona 3 FES?

Not really. The Journey section of P3 FES is meant to be played from the start so that you can experience all the new content. If you're in the middle of October in Persona 3, you cannot load that save into Persona 3 FES and pick up in the middle of October in The Journey; you must start a new game at level 1. However, you will be able to load some things from your Persona 3 save into FES. These are:

-Your Academics, Charm, and Courage rankings
-Your discovered Fusion Spells list
-Any key items you possess that unlock Persona fusions
-Your Persona compendium (However, the Personas in your compendium will be reset to their base level, stats, and skills)
So now I don't have to work on my academics all over again.

Academics have the biggest amount of points you have to earn just to level up in a certain area.

Yeah. I read one guide on GameFAQs that claims it's possible to max all stats and all social links in the first year, but damn it's a punishing schedule that you have to follow, with pretty much no margin for error. If you miss the chance to get a particular Persona from Shuffle Time when the guide says you need it by this date, you're screwed.

I'd rather play a more relaxed game and actually enjoy it a little.

I dig that new box art, it doesn't look as crowded as the Japanese release:

or

I've been playing Fes for a little (didn't have the original), and I have to say that I'm not so thrilled with it, maybe because the beginning is pretty boring. I do like the battles and persona creating, but the whole high school stuff is not that great to be honest, but then again, I'm only in it a couple of hours, so that impression can still change.
