This game is NOT as easy as everyone claims. I found myself struggling plenty of times, mostly in events where you can die due to a cheap techincality (the Light Cycles, and a battle with a certain Organization member). Not to mention that the game FLOODS you with enemies every chance it gets, to the point that you get too tired to play.

It's not a real challenge, but it isn't Wind Waker-easy either. It feels just right.

I'm not doughting your gaming abilities, but I did manage to beat the game without ever needing to summon anyone and I probably ever only saw half of the exclusive limits with the special characters. And it's not just us that say this game is easy, EVERY review site has pointed this out to be a negative aswell, heck GameTrailers was bashing that point short of just flat out laughing at it.

Perhaps your PS2 is just simply smarter then mine, I don't know.

How ya doing, buddy?

No one uses summons anyway. Especially with the multiude of combos/drives/limits you have at your disposal, why waste MP on Chicken Little?

And I agree that the game is still pretty easy, so long as you pay attention during battles. Only fights that have given me trouble are Xaldin and the Cerberus Cup (stupid 3 minute time limit).

Well we have to take into consideration that this game was made for kids. (I think). I hated the fact that it said 10+ on the cover. And you can't help but think...Was this game really made for 10 year olds? (I would think so, seeing the Babyness of Atlantica.) But nevertheless, I will remain loyal to Square No matter how immature they get.

I almost threw my tv out the window when Sora started singing. (I did like how he wanted to see Santa Clause though. Everybody love Santa Clause.)

I honestly can't see a young kid (6 or 10) having an easy time with this game, considering the frantic button mashing required to pass through. The point is, I've actually died in this game more than once, so I can't say it's that easy. Plus you DO have to pay attention and change your position in order to advance, unlike Devil May Cry 2, where you can literally stand still and just blast enemies until they die.

Basically, the game is easy-ish. But that doesn't stop it from being fun, unlike DMC2.

And while I find the newly-acquired Stitch summon pretty useful, it is true that the Summons aren't nearly as useful as Drives or Limits. In the end they're merely for aesthetics.

I haven't visited this world yet, but I'm looking forward to it, if just to laugh at the absurtity of Sora singing.

This shouldn't be taken as a criticism though. Guess what: they sing in Disney movies. You shouldn't bash Square for attempting accuracy.

So, after being in the first town for 900 years, I finally get the title screen. Too bad nothing makes sense.

Am I supposed to play the first game or what.

Atlantica is only singing, and like 2 cutscenes. I wouldn't have even minded but the songs are freaking horrible. At least the disney sing-alongs were cool.

Also, Genie owns in "Master" or "Final" mode. He makes the summon tournaments too easy. And he still owns out of those too.

How many summons is there anyways? I only got 4 and they all sucked except Genie.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

I found the majority of boss battles easy, but they were certainly more fun than those from the first game. I especially liked the battles that required Sora to jump onto the enemy to attack.

Heh, I was just going to mention something. Lots of Disney songs are good, but those ones in KH II has got to go. It makes me wonder if the game was targeted at little LITTLE kids with such lyrics such as finny fun. Oh my.

From what I understand, however, I must play through Atlantica to see the secret ending? Arrgh....

P.S. Gonna try tackling those evil pirates tonight :(

I said little LITTLE kids, not little kids. By little LITTLE kids, I mean kids in the five and under set, haha.

well at least the FF characters play a more important role in KH2 then in the first one. But I still need the ability to switch out Goofy and Donald for a couple square characters in my party, or just a couple "cooler" characters like Jack Sparrow or someone. I know that you temperarily get to fight with these characters, but I would like to see some more option in whom you fight alongside with.

P.S.
I have yet to see anyone under the age of 14 play this game, so they should really be bringing their target audience for design up a few years. The more complex story was a good start, but they still need to go a bit higher.

I plan on skipping Atlantica completely. I'm sorry, but cheesy singing is not my sort of thing. I've enjoyed some of the many songs in the original Disney movies but the songs in this game are just plain horrible.

I believe you can still see the special ending without going there. Beating the game on proud mode doesn't require you to complete the journal to see the secret ending.

Man, I wanted to skip Atlantica entirely myself, but nope, my little sister must go there, even though she agrees with me. WHY ME!!!

Unfortunately, I am on Standard Mode, so yeah, I think I need to complete the journal to get the secret ending. Arrgh...

However, it still requires you to lock all worlds...

....Including Atlantica to the best of my knowledge

So....you can skip it to beat the game but you won't attain the secret ending. On any difficulty

However, I do suggest Proud Mode anyway in that respect, since in Normal you have to perform each song AGAIN. and If I have to perform "Swim this Way" one more time I swear to God I'm going to go hunt down Nomura and strangle him. Granted, the minigame was fun on some songs >.>;

End-game spoiler, beware

Spoiler:
Ok so I beat the game. 84% Journal. Thats great.
I'm just wondering...that dark-looking beach Sora and Riku land at....is that the darknesss filled Destiny Island? I remember seeing that place in the opening in the game too (I remember cus it was like "AWESOME" whent he same seemlessly switched between CG and in-game, a classic SE trick).

Other than that, I loved the final battle. Especially that really really final fight with Xemnas in the nausiating background place. All the Matrix-style cutscenes and the OMG LOOK AT ALL THE BULLETS PUSH TRI AND X QUICK OMG moment scared the living hell out of me. I also liked how challenging it was, I only died twice, once during the ship and once on the final final fight.
The ending almost made me cry too....but Sora needs to like.....learn a few things. Or maybe Nomura..or whoever rendered that movie.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Oh my god, lion cub Sora is the cutest thing ever. Just wanna grab him and snuggle. I finished last night, played on Proud Mode. Forgot my Journal completion but second playthrough starts tonight for 100%. Combat is great, so much spinning and stuff, heh. Fat Bandits still annoying as ever. Game didn't disappoint me at all, and the ending was sweet.

I never once used a summon in the KH, nor did I ever switch out Donald or Goofy for the world character, so it was interesting this time around to use them. Poor Goofy almost always got the shaft, I felt sorry. So I always used the little money I earned to buy him good stuff. I still kinda wish there were a little less cutscenes...and also a little less of those Information boxes that pop up at the start of every single fixed battle just to give me some blindingly obvious message like "Defeat all the Heartless!" I don't think I saw a way to turn those off in the instruction manual, though...ah well.

All in all, game was goodness. Didn't die very much, thankfully. In fact, I mostly only died during the dungeon boss in Beast's Castle because I went there before the Land of Dragons. Thank god for the "I won't give up..." option -_-

Spoiler:
Did anyone else think that you had to CAST Reflect instead of Using the Reaction Command. I died 3 times trying to cast Reflect until it hit me.

Spoiler:
And since the 3rd Kh wil be about the keyvlade and its origin (So I've heard.)
There would be no reason for disney to be in it, and no more finny fun. (Unless of course Disney Castle happened to make the Keyblade. ((Which I doubt Highly)) So I'm guessing it will be a bit more mature.)

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

It can't be THAT bad.....

Then again, I still haven't actually gone to it. I decided to wait until tommorow when I'm all refreshed.

Despite what I said before about how the game is trying to appeal to both young kids and older players, I do need to give props to Square for the way they've handled the Disney side of KH. They've taken the characters and put them in a more mature setting, without doing any drastic changes to the actual characters. What I'm trying to say is that they've managed to sort of evolve the Disney characters, make them appear more seamless in a darker story, all without making them "edgier" or "hipper", like what WB tried with Loonatics (or whatever that crap is called).

I mean, just look at Mickey. Stop and look at him. He is SO FREAKING COOL in this game. I almost have trouble believing it.

I just have watched the ending yesterday, and boy, I'm so thrilled and have made a lot of speculations toward the next preinstallment

Spoiler:
Keyblade War? What the heck? I have a suspect the KHIII will give explanation how the keyblade is made and why Sora, Riku, and Mickey are chosen to wield these special keyblade.

It depends on how good you were in KH 1 and how much of that knowledge you retained, or how quick you are with your reflexes I suppose.

Atlantica was 10x worse in the Japanese version. Engrish for the win, why lie.

secret ending discussion
Spoiler:
like I said, it has been comfirmed that this video is from the past and not future. So yeah I think it will talk about the story of Keyblade, maybe it's because of the keyblade war that in the end only a few chosen one are chosen to wield the keyblade. In a very old interview (that I really can't remember where now) it has been said that SE wanted to make Kingdom hearts is thrid big game series, like Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest, i'm not sure if it has change, but if it still that, surely someday they will ran out of disney character and world... and why not I would be very happy if someday (maybe KHIII) the disney will disapear from the game (even if that will mean that it's not really a real kingdom hearts game :\) but I think that this game has a really good potential to go "stand-alone" and havea really good story (maybe more serious)
