The cars are under my friend's dad's name. He's a mechanic and buys/deals cars and gets his hands on a new car every once in a while and gives it to my friend. He said he did something to them, none of them would start.

He snuck back in and grabbed some stuff like clothes, but there's a lot more to get. Plus I lent him a few anime DVDs that are still there. He needs to get those back for me.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

not that my dad would ever do that to me, since sometimes i find him annoyingly overprotective, but hypothetically, i'd run away and never speak to him again. If someone pulled a crazy stunt like that, i don't think i could forgive them, even if it is my own dad.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

What does one have to do with the other? Because he got in a fight with his father, I'm not allowed to want my DVDs back? It's not like it's the first thing that came to my mind.

It's a mere fact that the DVDs are over the house and he needs to get them back, I spent a lot of money on them. I wouldn't say I'm concerned over it, but I do want them back.

If he can't go back there, then I'll go and get them myself, but he's told me he is going back to get stuff, so he'll get them.

That was quite the asinine assumption. What makes you think that is how I went about asking it? Not to mention that you know nothing about my friend. He's the totally opposite of politically correct.

All I said was if you go back to your house to grab your stuff then if you remember grab the DVDs I lent you. Nothing wrong with that.

I was speaking idiomatically.

I think I would probably seek help from A LOT of friends and probably even councillors out there who have the ability and capacity to protect you. That's the problem with America. Leaving guns lying around and allowing residents to have a capacity to use them. Not to mention constant media provocation of violent imagery (Just watch Bowling for Columbine) and I definitely won't think about going back. If I could sneak back when my dad was out at work, then I would and grab as much as I could (since I know what time my dad gets out of the house and when he returns)

Though really, your friend's dad is just PURE psychotic. He really really really needs to get his priorities right! It's your SON you're talking about here, not like some mannequin which you can just pull your trigger. I would personally find it VERY hard to forgive my dad (since I also respect him very much as a fatherly figure and as a pillar of support) unless I'm sure he's changed for the better.

I'm pretty sure your friend's dad should have regretted his actions but to uphold his "dignity" refuses to admit that he's in the wrong and that leads onto more frustration and more angst, leading to more spouting and hatred between them. I hope your friend's situation does get better. But seriously, I think he should try getting some proper help like from the police or councillors who have the legal capacity to speak to his father and shield your friend from harm.

All the best for his situation. It's tough grappling with things like that but I hope he pulls through.
