Sure there is! A bunch of japanese citizens are having difficulties with their daily activities, then suddenly a HUEG meteor is spotted heading towards the earth. What do you do? GET ON UP AND DANCE. Yes, that's an idiot-proof way of preventing a disaster.

I wouldn't call it a sequel myself. It has the feel of the original game, but they're not related and there's no ties between the two. Though that's like saying Pop'n Music 10 and 11 aren't related - it doesn't really matter, you're not playing it for it's story.

Bump for tiny box art and November 6th release date.

Needs more song list. And bigger box art.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Can you post that in a larger size, it's too small.

Also song lists (thanks Acer ='D)

Edit: List removed for now, as multiple sites are reporting this as fake.

This list has been floating around, but hasn't been 100% confirmed. I can't say whether it's official or not. Some of the songs in that are pretty bad. (But some are pretty awesome, too. Like Walkie and Hardware Store.)

I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body?

Wow. That song list has completely destroyed any traces of me wanting this game. Import ftw.

Oh yeah, I saw that on PGC's forums, hope it is official, because aside from a select few it's quite good! Linkin Park will make everyone put holes in their touch screens.

So they took a quirky Japanese game, removed everything and replaced it with Blues Brothers knockoffs and shitty American music? That's localization for you, I guess. :/

And let me guess, you watch all your anime with the japanese audio track but it's "superior" to the english track.

Don't be such a tightass about this and just be glad they even decided to attempt a localization.

Who cares, Steriogram is a band from New Zealand. It's worth buying for Walkie Talkie Man alone, as Ouendan is for Kokoro Odoru/Shanghai Honey. I was skeptical of Hardware House but after listeing to it, I can totally see myself playing this on the hardest difficulty there is.

You can't expect great english tracks with these things.

No, if I own the DVD, I'll usually watch the dub. I'm just really disappointed by this song list. Linkin Park? Ricky Martin? Serioiusly. This is almost as bad as our console versions of DDR.

They didn't change a thing with the Katamari games or any of the other quirky games like that when they brought them over, and that's what made them great. Would Katamari Damacy have been as good with shit like Savage Garden or The Offspring? I think not.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Too bad Katamari is 1) a different game, 2) by a different company 3) for a different console.

It has very little relevance to this except that it's japanese.

I would have loved to roll shit up in CataScan MyAtari to Linkin Park's Crawling. Roll it up slowly, oh yeah, that's it. Pelvic thrusts and all that while playing. It'd be the best interactive video computer game ever developed.

Anyway I guess Nintendo figured everyone who wanted the original would import anyway, which they did.

How ya doing, buddy?

Guys, I'm sure that Japanese teenagers (at least, the very few that actually bought Ouendan in Japan) hated some of the songs for being too mainstream, too.

Just because it's in Japanese doesn't mean that the native population isn't as embarrassed to listen to it as you are when Britney Spears or some shit emo band plays.

Hahaha this is so true! I mean, look at the damn soundtrack, it has one or two obscureish songs (The Yellow Monkey, The Blue Hearts... Hmm, colourful names. A theme!), but Kishi-dan? That's a boy band! Morning Musume?! Girl group, a washed out one at that!

This really isn't a bad playlist, so far.

How ya doing, buddy?
Old Aug 2, 2006, 08:06 AM #39 of 95
Yeah, seriously guys. Go listen to Hardware Store. It's one of Weird Al's best original songs and totally works and the stage is going to be just incredible I'm sure. The inclusion of this has made this game an instant buy.

Listen to it now!

And even if you don't like some of the songs there's no denying that they'll make great stages. It would be great if they could insert some Hard Gay into the stage for Livin' la Vida Loca or cheering some emo kid to cut himself for Linkin Park. I'm sure anything they come up with for the stages will be gold but most important is Hardware Store. That'll be godly.

I've heard that list is completely made-up, and I'm pretty sure it is. It came around shortly after the Nintendo press release about its fall/winter lineup, probably because someone wanted to make it more believable. The problem is it wasn't a part of Nintendo's press release, and there's no official source for it that I've seen.

To my knowledge the only 2 confirmed songs are Steriogram - Walkie Talkie Man and Deep Purple - Highway Star, because they were at E3.

Besides, it lacks REM's "It's the End of the World as We Know It" which just HAS to be the last song on EBA. :P

edit:

"It's fake.

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=111826

Chris Kohler (known as Kobun Heat at GAF), respectable Western/Japanese games journalist and close-close buddy with iNiS stated it as such. Put it one way, I'd trust him way more than this speculative list that has just come out of nowhere."

So there you go. I actually would've liked Sweet Child O Mine, but the rest is "meh" anyway. I'm pretty happy it's fake.

I've been researching the song list, and everywhere I've looked, this song list has been reported as fake. So I'll remove it. I'll still buy it based on two things: 1) It has Ouendan's engine and 2) It has Walkie Talkie Man.

It's a shame, somewhat. The opportunity of them fucking up and dishing out a worse song list is still open. But it's an even bigger shame that some certain people can't enjoy a game based solely on it's song list. In that case, Amplitude shouldn't be played. Which is just wrong.

Unfortunately, Hardware Store won't be playable after all.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Aw man, that's fucking poor. I was really looking foward to this game, too. But really, there's only a couple of songs I'd be interested in. YMCA is one of them.

# Sk8er Boi - Avril Lavigne
# Y.M.C.A. - Village People
# Material Girl - Madonna
# La La - Ashlee Simpson
# Without a Fight - Hoobastank
# Believe - Cher
# Makes No Difference - Sum 41
# The Anthem - Good Charlotte

SUM 41. GOOD CHARLOTTE. ASHLEE SIMPSON. MADONNA. CHER. COULD THIS GET ANY WORSE?

Oh hell no.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Why the fuck are Ashlee Simpson, Avril, Sum 41, Destiny's Child and Good Charlotte shitting all over this game?

This is why I wish music games would just have their own original songs rather than borrow what's out on the radio.

I think I'll just stick to the import version now.

Cher can stay though.
