Then you go to a zoo, where you pay admission to see a bunch of caged animals. You can see elephants down in Providence, I believe.

Or you could just watch the National Geographic channel once in a while. ^_^

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

just donate them to Disney's Animal Kingdom... they have lots of room in which they can roam freely and get fed daily. Simple... minus the transportation costs, preparation for the move, acclimating them to their new surroundings.

If this were feasible (I know nothing about Animal Kingdom and how they treat their animals - it SOUNDS like these elephants may not do so well in a theme park at their age and with any ailments), the cost of hauling the elephants down there would be under $39 million, I am PRETTY SURE.

But the travel itself would be hazardous to the animals' health. Something on the west coast would probably be ideal. But then, Animal Kingdom could be on the West Coast. I am unsure. But travel should be minimal.

I was speaking idiomatically.

Animal Kingdom is located on the East coast, but the facilities are about the best in the country when it comes to the care of animals, theme park or not.

Only local place that I can think of that they could is move them a couple of hours south to San Diego's Wild Animal Park, though I am not sure on their facilities in terms of caring for them at their age.

39 mil for an elephant enclosure...that seems like a LOT. what do they have to do to build this sanctuary? Do they have to knock down buildings or something like that. I have to agree with the activists that the elephants should be freed. Use the money to help conservation in the wild if you really want to support the elephants. ><;

The US has spent about 200 billion on the war in Iraq.. which has resulted in the following.. loss of life.. media outrage, alienation from other countries, and it hasn't helped with religious and racial tension. So sure.. that 39 million could have gone to help the homeless situation in Los Angeles but that 200 billion could have helped the homeless in the US.. it could have been used for better programs for the inner cities.. it could have been used to fund better rehabilitation facilities.. etc.. etc. Do you realize how many shelters they could have put up with that money?

The elephant thing seems a bit odd.. I'd rather have seen the money go to build more wildlife sanctuaries that help all animals rather then just three specific elephants. But I'd rather see that money go to the three elephants then going towards building yet another highway that would result in tearing down more of the natural habitat in order to make things more... concrete.

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?
