How did I fail to read CHz's post? -_-;

Anyway, now you know why I hate BSC. T_T

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Ok, will all weeks be extended to a 2-week voting period? I don't think it proved to be a very good decision to have this extension. So far, there have no new votes. Also, isn't there typically some sort of poll to decided if the SotW needs longer voting periods?

I was speaking idiomatically.

Yeah, this one probably didn't need it, considering most people were already familiar with the songs (and there were a good number of votes in the first week). I imagine regular weeks during BSC will get extensions, as usual.

3 pts. - Battle - Destruction Begets Decay - On another level from the rest of the songs. The main hook is awesome, and though some find the melody repetitive, I think the interlude plus switching it over to guitars for the second half helps avoid that. The performance (particularly the drumming) is excellent. This is my favorite SotW entry in a long time.

2 pts. - 500 miles far from embarrassing
1 pt. - Sewer's Blast - More engaging than the rest.

One more comment - When a song has "Funky" in the title, you'd think I'd be giving it some points, but unfortunately Zanthia's Funky Swamp totally fails at being interesting. This is the kind of funk I want no part of. The boring soloing throughout it does absolutely nothing for me.

Check out my original music at my Soundcloud page!

Latest music rips (updated January 10, 2012):

SimCity DS - Jazz/ambient/electronic music including interesting reworkings of songs from the fantastic SimCity 3000 soundtrack
Cold Winter Original Game Music Score - Really cool; dark, full, emotional strings mixed with drums, piano, choir. Kind of like Furious Angels?

Play-Asia - Japanese CDs, game soundtracks, game imports, & more

My next nom puts the awesome in standard:

Artist: MasaHG
Game: Galax
Track: White Roof (Stage 3)
Year: 2003
Source: GalaxÐ‰î, ‹LŽ–ˆê——

Galax is a freeware shootemup that makes mincemeat of other freeware shootemups, with a soundtrack to match. The second link, which is just the parent of the first, contains a direct link to the OGG files which must be separately downloaded from the main game. I'm going with the OGG version, though there are some minor clipping issues which can't be helped (unless they can, I don't mind being wrong this time).

I'll upload it to the nom folder shortly.

Also, play Galax

I guess it says something about my lack of enthusiasm for these winners that I didn't find the time to vote for the first time since...well, it's been a long time.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Very pleased with 1st place, and 2nd place as well. I, too, was pretty unenthusiastic about these "winners", but I really adored 3 of 'em.

This was a battle week that didn't amaze me much either. I only gave out five points among these tracks the first time around, which meant I had to stretch to find where my sixth point this week would go. At least the one I liked best ended up winning.
