Surprised that my nom didn't get any points, but then again I didn't get around to voting this week anyway. Rai was better when I initially heard it. I agree that it's lacking something, but I decided to nominate it regardless.
I don't mind that I didn't get my points in. I would have given 3 points to Suikoden, 2 to Waku Waku 7, and probably 1 to Claymore. Wouldn't have changed the standings. There's nowhere I can't reach.

Wow, I didn't even notice that. Is that the first time a nomination hasn't received any points?
(Sorry, I'm genuinely curious.) This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
The "Chocobo's Happy Christmas" clause contends that arranged material is acceptable on a case-by-case basis. That is, if the source material is well-known, then it stands to reason that the essential melody of the arrangement will also be familiar, even if the precise instrumentation has changed; an obscure arrangement of "One-Winged Angel" will always sound like One-Winged Angel in some way.
So I'd say it's fair to strike half the Vielen Dank album, based upon the general familiarity of its source material. As much as I secretly love the discovery of loopholes (I got a Megaman tune through!), sometimes there's just a line drawn in the sand, and Square-Enix is a pretty big line. The other half, all the original work, sure. I've never heard it. Pick the best and send it forth. I was speaking idiomatically. |
As for Hamauzu's Thank You, I agree with Crash. The Unlimited SaGa stuff might squeak in, but other than that stick to the original works. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? ![]() |
Let me get back in this with a nomination.
Game: Tekken: Dark Resurrection Song: Call of the Inferno Note: Don't know the composer, but I have a nice extended version (over 3 minutes) if it follows the contest rules, I'll be happy to upload it. FELIPE NO ![]() |

Whoops. I blame the fact that this is finals week.
