Exactly. The media is liberal as hell, but they also know statistics. That's why "WHITE GIRL DIES" will always be a national headline, whereas "Some negro gets whacked in a drug related incident....again" will hardly make it to the 10th page of he 3rd section of the local rag. So why should I pay particular attention to these special people the media has decided I should care about? You might as well cry over Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes when they get divorced.

It should also be said that poor black famlies know how to handle shit like this. I've been witnessed to some fucked up shit in some ultra ghetto fucking neighborhoods about 6 years back.

The reason the news doesn't report it is because the problem is solved without calling the police. Case in point: some wetback was smacking the shit out of his girlfriend and her brother found out and they gunned the fucking shit out of him in the middle of a street in broad daylight

Mountain Brook, AL is a neighborhood mostly of well to do rich people, that is where Natalee is from. The kids are raised by nannys while there parents work, because of this there parents feel guilty and give them whatever they want. Well that is most of the kids from Mountain Brook, not all of them. Just recently a lot of them got in trouble for underage drinking with the law. :\ It's nothing new, there is a long history of Brookies and heavy underage drinking.

Personally I think we should be more worried about children who have gone missing recently in OUR country, not some irresponsible ADULT who disppeared on small foreign island.

I agree with pretty much everything Lehah said in regards to the subject.

I hope the chick is dead and people stop talking about her, this type of thing happens all the time, but just because she is some ditsy well-off blonde, she gets national attention in regards to her missing. Fuck that shit. I bet she got fucked hard on the beach, then asphyxiated on her own vomit and then got swept away by the ocean while passed out.

I'm from Birmingham AL and I've thought that for years. And considering that I am from B'ham I am SOOOOOO SICK of hearing about this case. Don't get me wrong, no parent should have to lose a child. Thats the worst feeling in the world. But this goes far beyond the call and duty of "PLEASE STOP TALKING ABOUT IT NOW".

I love the news media taglines - Commercials that go "New Developments in the Natalee Holloway case! Natalee was seen at the souvenier shop buying a fake tattoo! OHNOES1!!11!!!!"

That shit gets hella annoying for the 65749876327676th consecutive time.

And furthermore had this been an ugly black chick or a fat latino girl or some crazy samoan woman who went to visit some little backwater island 3 miles off the coast of Fairy World or some shit that fell off a cliff into a black hole vortex into another dimension it still wouldnt get HALF the coverage Natalee gets which is sad. There are SO MANY other cases out there that are just as if not MORE pressing and we're still focusing on the same case that is perpetually going nowhere. (Personally I kinda wanna strangle that Joren Van Der Sloot guy cause he comes off a bit of a pompous ass but maybe thats just me)

Furthermore is it just me or does it seem that news show hosts such as Nancy Grace (whom I dont really care for any more than the stuff that pours daily out of the crack of my ass. man i dislike her something fierce) seem to obsess over this case in particular?

Anyways I dont mean to take away from the tragedy of the situation. It IS sad that the girl died, but the way the media is focusing on it as if it was the next sign of the apocalype is just annoying.
