This is probably the first SotW with a member's composition nominated. And I must say surasshu's piece is really nice.
(2 points) Force Majeure (Game Rip) - title (2 points) Dreamfall The Longest Journey Original Soundtrack - Rush (1 point) KOF MAXIMUM IMPACT REGULATION 'A' ORIGINAL SOUND TRACK - Unbreakable Stained Glass (1 point) Zed Blade (Game Rip) - Universe Blue (yueez MIX) (Stage 2 & 5) In other weeks, "Apparitions Stalk the Night" would have likely gotten a point from me. Here's my next nomination: * Album Title: Wizardry: LLYLGAMYN SAGA * Artist: Haneda Kentarou * Track Title: Fort City Llylgamyn * Source: http://gmronline.com/info.asp?CatNumber=COCX-30242; RPGFan Soundtracks - Wizardry ~ Llylgamyn Saga * File Location: Nomination folder * Disc Number: 1 (of 1) * Track Number: 3 * Catalogue Number: COCX-30242 * Year: 1998 Most amazing jew boots

Me and Drakken can't possibly be the only two people who think Ninja Gaiden shouldn't be eligible, come on now.
And while I'm still in crotchety old man mode:
What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
Ninja Gaiden is pretty well known. Sorry, Zeph. I know you can do something more obscure.

also, I like turtles |
I can also name the old Ninja Gaiden tracks purely by ear, making them not so obscure.
Sorry, Zeph, but I agree, it's not quite obscure enough (though it's otherwise a good track). What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
I almost went so sleep without nominating!
Fantasy Zone PSF2 Rip Polaria (US version) Noah Toku Jam it back in, in the dark. |
Pretty straightforward week.
3 pts - title 2 pts - Mars Needs Cheerleaders 1 pts - Unbreakable Stained Glass If title doesn't win this week (and it looks like it will), I'm going to be pretty pissed. It's one of the more refreshing newer pieces of VGM I've heard recently (kinda like how Sekaiju no MeiQ and Pokemon Mystery Dungeon are). It has all the gamey textures I love from chiptunes and the like, but the composition is all over the place in a way I absolutely love and never lets up on the awesome. Kinda rockin', kinda techno, but definitely awesome either way. I can't say I feel that strongly about any other track up there, as this was a pretty bland week otherwise, although sarasshu's composition was a lot more interesting than his nomination, unfortunately... I don't outright oppose Ninja Gaiden 1 or 2 on the NES, but it's close...VGM-wise, I don't place it at Megaman 2 level, but I wouldn't say yes to a second NES Ninja Gaiden 1 or 2 pick afterwards...On the other hand, arcade NG, NG3 or the Xbox game, I've totally fine with. There's nowhere I can't reach.
I'm taking over this town...
I'm screaming for vengenace... I'm shouting at the devil... I'm not dead and I'm not for sale... Ain't lookin' for nothin' but a good time...

2 pts. - Snowy World - My nom. It's a fun/cute song with nice melodies, and it (like the rest of the DtL songs) actually has a good bit going on. I love the part starting at 0:58.
2 pts. - title - Awesome oldschool-feeling synthy piece. Nice job, surasshu. 1 pt. - Unbreakable Stained Glass 1 pt. - Universe Blue (yueez mix) Are you serious? - Name Entry (not bad, but waaaaay too short and unspectacular for something like this) This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.
Check out my original music at my Soundcloud page!
Latest music rips (updated January 10, 2012): SimCity DS - Jazz/ambient/electronic music including interesting reworkings of songs from the fantastic SimCity 3000 soundtrack Cold Winter Original Game Music Score - Really cool; dark, full, emotional strings mixed with drums, piano, choir. Kind of like Furious Angels? Play-Asia - Japanese CDs, game soundtracks, game imports, & more

Additional Spam: Also, SHMUP WEEK I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
Wow, sweeping victory for surasshu. Congrats!
As for Xenosaga III, I think it's kind of understood that it's not exactly obscure given the popularity of the brandname. I was speaking idiomatically.
I think therefore I am... I think.

Thanks guys! This is really super cool, and coming in a time where I was feeling kinda down about my music, this kinda stuff really helps!
I really liked some of the other noms so I was a little worried... Especially Unbreakable Stained Glass which I guess really didn't do so well at all. Seems like I have unpopular tastes, since my nom was completely destroyed (but then, I didn't really expect it to be any different, it's only 30 seconds long). What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
Gah! I forgot to vote!
Silly me, glad the one I liked did well anyway. Unfortunately, Unbreakable Stained Glass, which I liked, didn't do as well. FELIPE NO |
