YouTube is the most fucking racist/hateful site I've ever seen, but that's understandable, because millions of 13-year-old boys visit it, and we should all know that most teenagers are retarded. I suppose it just seems worse when they're in a huge cluster. Also, obviously, presumed anonymity, etc.
Yep and those people responsible for YT a fucktards because they do NOTHING about it. At least IMDB deletes out-of-control messages -.- It's sad to see this on GF as well where some weirdoes literally stalk you thread for thread.

That's society for you. The popularity of the global internet just exposes a lot more of the filthy layers of it. =\
The sad part is I agree. I think society today is really going down hill. It doesn't have to do with just online, but many other things. Crime is getting worse, etc.

Over the past 5 years I've lost so much respect for society it is at the point where it can't get much lower than it already is. I'm not going to go around telling people what to do with their lives, but on the same token I don't have to approve of it either.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Well, no, you see, society has always been like this, internet or no internet. It's just human nature. The history books omit the parts about how your forefathers regularly stomped the shit out of faggots, because it's not really pertinent information.

Violence and racism have more controls over them now, but they are still alive and well. It'll probably always be that way, too.

It's rather like what guards in the Stanford Prison Experiment showed...if you put people in a position of power their grasp of morality suddenly becomes more tenuous. The internet provides a feeling of power purely because there are no repercussions. I think it sad that someone could type hateful comments without any pause for thought.

I was speaking idiomatically.
