The only argument I can come with up with is that the players are expected to dress in the proper uniform while on the pitch and the head scarf is really nothing more than a decorative accessory which is separate of the uniform itself. Where do you draw the line? If you allow head scarfs then I suppose you should just allow caps, toques, and other clothing. Maybe players can even start wearing a Flava Flav clock 'round their necks to keep time.

That said, I don't see the big deal myself.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

You're staring at me like I just asked you what the fucking square root of something.

Simply put, an extra, firm-fitting head cover would have removed both problems.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

That's just ridiculous. And this is coming from someone who reffed basketball for ages 10 and up for five years. Not once did anyone interject in this kind of manner. Plus, it happened here in Quebec.

Kind of makes me sad. I'm equally shocked (though happy) to hear that her entire team stood by her. You'd think one or two would retort and tell her to take it off. Now that's team spirit.

I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body?

I think that's discrimination at it's best. It's an article of clothing that is part of their culture and if anything the soccer legal should get in trouble for it. I think whoever that ref is, should be penelized.

I was speaking idiomatically.

What? You mean like reverse-discrimination? The ref was Muslim himself.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

Reminds me of when Dave Chappelle played the old blind man who hated blacks.

Well, according to Muslim faith the hijab is obligatory before puberty. How much you cover depends on how "devout" you are -- the burqa is as extreme as you can get. And there are plenty of followers who don't care either way.

How ya doing, buddy?
