I've been using Vista for over a month (had it since before general public launch, since I got a copy of the Business edition from my school). I certainly won't deny that Windows is trying to be more Mac OS X like. Actually, I'd say that's what I like best about it. The UI is generally much better than it has been in previous versions. It isn't an amazingly huge change, but its an incremental change for the better. There are still some compatibility problems and quirks, but for day to day usage I'm liking it much better than XP. If you're a gamer looking at it for DX10, wait until actual DX10 games come out (and better graphics drivers). Generally speaking its a bit more hardware intensive than XP, especially with Aero (and its Glass effect enabled). But if you have a Radeon 9600 or better with a gig of ram, you're not going to feel much if any pain here. Maybe next time I buy a computer I won't be too cheap to go Apple, but until that time Vista will hold me over.
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.
