Actually Orion just PMed me and said the producer and Marty both thanked the original movie.

THANK YOU! Marty, you defintly deserve your prize now. Dunno about whoever came up with "let's make a remake", but props to Scorses for mentioning it.

And boo to those who said it was Japanese, the Chinese Americans are probably having a field day. Its like calling an Aussie guy a Brit, or a Canadian guy American, you DON"T GO THERE unless you're sure, and if you can't tell, ASK! Or in the case of the movie, uh, 5 seconds on google?

This is just as bad as hiring random Chinese guys who can't speak Canton, and try to pass them off as such.

Yeah, I was happy when they said in the thank yous that it was based off the Hong Kong film. But yeah, it still puzzles me how you win best picture for having a movie that is adapted. Best picture is like best story or overall movie right? So since the story wasn't even his, how does he win it?

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Oh. OH. Watch Garfield 2 and the pub scene with "Brits" shouting "Aussie Aussie Aussie! Oi Oi Oi!"

Now that The Departed has won the biggies for the Oscars, I think I might finally watch it. I've never been a fan of Leo DiCaprio but after watching Blood Diamond I think I might put the differences aside.

I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body?
