Yeah, who wouldn't want to live in an alchemic world... The other world, our world looks so boring.
To accentuate that, they even "bleached" the colours. Seeing that engineering world with fire engines and stuff, I just can't get into that although I'm becoming an engineer next year. There is some affinity in spirit between me and Full Metal Alchemist though.

I thought of the movie to be an average sequel. I was a little disappointed at the scene when Al and Edward met . I was expecting a real dramatic masterpiece but it felt like they just said "what up , bro? nothin' chillin? aiight later" for 4 mins and went off to fight a B-Rated Villian.

The movie's ending is another beginning to a "possible" 3rd installment. Hopefully I'll expect more -.-.Overall, Shambala's Conqueror was alright. Just didn't live up to its potential.

I really liked the movie. It was cool seeing everyone again.

Spoiler:
Hughes #2, for lack of a better term, was quite a bit different from his original, at least after the initial encounter with him. Rose's counterpart played a surprisingly significant role, and it was cool seeing Pride (although his original was truly a son of a bitch), Scar, Lust, and a few others whose names escape me.

While I agree that Ed and Al's reunion was a bit lacking, I thought it was pretty appropriate. Neither one of them were particular crybabies, but the scene where the suit of armor with part of Al's soul attached to it started speaking was pretty touching.

In the end, I'm glad Al went through the gate and ended up with Ed, even though it sorta comes off as a little too-close-for-brotherly-love. "I want to be by your side from now on, Brother." Or something to that extent.

No, I don't think the ending to the Conqueror of Shamballa leaves any hint to a sequel. The plot goes full-circle, with the ending reattaching itself to the beginning. That's how movies should end, Evangelion. In any case, I enjoyed the movie thoroughly, and I'm glad it brought the series to an ultimate conclusion even though, sadly, it wasn't the one I was really hoping for. Still a good ending though.

I was speaking idiomatically.

Does anyone know what the title is of the music those gypsies were playing and singing in the movie? That song was heavenly!

I just saw the movie!!! and I must agree that...
Spoiler:
there was a little too much brotherly love going on
and
Spoiler:
they lacked a lot of crying when they reunited but I think it is because earlier before Ed went through the gate, Al's soul was still transferred in the suit of armor and it talked to Ed and that kinda umm... mean they "met"??? haha

I'm not so used to seeing Al in human form... GET BACK IN YOUR SUIT OF ARMOR!!!!

For those who watched the movie:

I really didn't get why these people in "our world" used armors that look exactly like Al's armor.
Did I miss something?

Parallel world, son. Parallel world.

To answer something previously:
Spoiler:
Gluttony was changed by Dante/Lyra. He kept asking for Lust, and she put pressure on his Oroborus--which was on his tongue. So, he became a mindless little bugger.

Edward didn't get his arm and leg back because HUMAN TRANSMUTATION IS WRONG! Anyway, that's why--no transmutation.

Wrath is the homunculus created when Izumi tried to bring back her baby. Because he was so deformed, she returned him back to the gate. So, when Edward did his transmutation of his mother, Wrath was there waiting for the arm and leg.

Alphonse didn't die because Edward was able to save his soul and keep it in his world by the blood mark using Ed's blood. His body went into the gate.

The reason Homunculi don't have souls is because you can't transmute them. The human body is made up of different compounds, which they are checking off a list at the beginning of the transmutation of their mom.

I can't remember why Hohenheim couldn't return to the alchemic world. I think it had to do with his body wasting away. As for why Envy hated him....Well, he IS Edward's brother, you know. That's right, Envy is the homunculus that resulted when Hohenheim tried to bring THAT child back. And guess who was there to help? Dante!

Spoiler:
If you remember, Winry accused Ed and Al of never crying--never shedding a tear. Plus, they are boys, you know. They don't cry--although I think Ed was crying when Al's soul had to leave. It sounded like it to me.

Is there any real history about this anime?

I think it's from the middle ages and there were also alchemists trying to make gold and the philosopher stone was real too. I don't know about the place though. It looks russian and all. That song Bratja (Brothers): what language is it in? It sounds russian. Also it is played by a russian orchestra.

The gypsie song was Kelas btw.

How ya doing, buddy?

I just know that Hohenheim of Light had the famous alchemist Paracelsus as a role model
Look up "Paracelsus" on wikipedia... I'm not allowed to post links yet

And yes, "Brothers" is russian.

I don't think it's middle ages.

Since it's a parallel world, I think it's just a few years off. And, I think Ed's world is ALSO what we know as Germany. And, to be hinest....I thought that before the movie.

There's a very "German" feel to the villages and architecture in the anime. I'm not sure I can explain it any better.

Hmmm...now that I think about it....."Shadow of Destiny" by Konami is a game centered on alchemy that takes place in Germany.....

I didn't think Germany played that much of a role in alchemy.....

Just watched the TV series ending yesterday. It looked like a "omg can't do something too classic let's have a bunch of scenario twists that doesnt make sense" symptom.

Other than this, I've enjoyed that series a lot. Will surely watch the movie later, even if I'm not expecting much.

Now I need to find something else to watch ~
