So the component cable is only included in Premium?
Hmm, that sure does add a big plus, if all the chatter is corect, that there's no HDMI cable for the system anyway?

Is the component cable (included in the Premium solution), the best cable for the system out there?

Thanks for the input btw =)

Wireless controller, headset, hard drive & component video cables. Don't know about the media remote, perhaps I screwed out of one. As for best possible picture, you might want to consider the Monster 360 cables. I don't usually buy in on the gimmicks of Monster but the colors appeared more vibrant and sharp.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Hmm, I think I could manage with the regular component in the Premium. I might not be able to tell the difference anyway...

So Core + 1 wireless controller + memorycard + component cable... nah.
Premium... Yes please.

Post

There have been mixed opinions on the MSFT VGA Cable. I have one here that a friend gave me and have yet to use it, I'll test it sometime next week my my new WS LCD monitor comes in. I'll let you know if it's worth whatever it costs.

Could you possibly test it on a square monitor too? I'm sure it looks fine on a widescreen.

This might help you out. Reason I can't on my CRT monitor is because it requires a VGA input which it doesn't have, thats on the video card.

http://hardware.teamxbox.com/reviews...D-AV-Cable/p1/

Just got my monitor a few minutes ago and so far so good. The LCD is a bit bright but something I'll have to tweak with a calibrating disc. Played Dead Rising on it, Call of Duty 2, NBA2K7 and as I said before so far so good. I'm a bit surprised as well because it's kind of a budget WS LCD by Acer of all things. I purchased this for space saving, I needed the work area and I didn't feel like forking out extra for a another desk as well as taking up space.

As I read... the core system uses memory packs to save progress on games?

How ya doing, buddy?

Yes. And those cost money. It's really a loss in the long run to get a Core system, to be honest.

Basically if you want to save yourself money on accessories that you would need to get if you got the Core system, then get yourself the Premium. It saves you money in the long run as previously mentioned.

It just doesn't make sense to get the Core. You're already paying so much for the system, and will likely pay more somewhere down the line for Xbox Live. Not being able to use the system to its full potential is just plain stupid. Microsoft wants you to buy the Core.

It seems though that the Core system may be worth it for those gamers that are only willing to buy the Xbox 360 for a few games or so and not planning to go online.

I was speaking idiomatically.

As most people have said, the 360 is almost completely pointless without Live. It's the entire point. If I didn't have Live, I'd be playing many of these games either on the PC or ignoring them entirely. Many games are completely useless without having a Gold Live account.

Microsoft shot itself in the foot (maybe?) by releasing the core and premium editions.

The XB360 would of sucked for me were it not for Live and the marketplace.
I just hope that developers didn't tone down their games or developed their stuff for the lowest common denominator. The 5% of people with a Core system. :/

Here's hoping that MS just releases versions with HD going forward and forget the cores ever existed.

It's kind of hard to explain, but the whole "online business" is the biggest reason that I currently play my 360 more than my PC, PS2 and regular Xbox.

If you look at the current catalog of games, it isn't even close to as impressive as recent PS2 titles. However, the achievements, friends list, Xbox Live Arcade, new demos, new videos just makes it so much more of an entertainment system beyond the regular games alone. It's the achievements that makes games like Dead Rising (a mediocre GTA clone with zombies had it been released for PS2, now a best-selling Xbox 360 title). Online makes you play games differently and strive to conquer those goals.

For example, just right now, I'm downloading to try out the Lumines trial demo that was just released. The size is 50.61 MB, I don't even think twice, but this won't be the case for those on memory cards.

In essence, you'll want your Xbox 360 hooked up online at the very least, and with that you'll want space for all the free goodies.

Anyone out there who owns a 360 play on a regular TV (not HDtv)? To be honest, one of the major reasons I haven't bought a 360 yet is because I don't have an HDTV, and don't really have the money to get one anytime soon. Is it still worth playing a 360 on a regular TV?

Jam it back in, in the dark.

I have a 360 and play it on a standard TV. The games that I play look really good. But, there have been times I wished I had an HDTV. There are times when I play 'Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter' and 'Splinter Cell: Double Agent' that made me really want a 720p HDTV. As good as the games look in SD I can't imagine how good they look in HD.

I finally had a chance to try GRAW on Live a few days ago at my out-of-town friend's place, and I must say, I LOVE IT!!! I think that online experience alone has me sold on a 360

Yeah I know what you mean. I like the 360, but with the online functions I really love it.
