lol, I agree as well. I mean, you'd think by now they would've rolled with actual gameplay footage. Though, from the looks of it. It does seem to be actual game footage. Coupled with movie scenes.

And from what I get, she probably activated Overclocked status. Which the action slows down and that she's picking off several soldiers with her gunblade.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Dammit, why are they putting that game on a cellphone? The designs are real nice, and I like the idea of an online version of FFVIII's magic school. Move it to the PSP or Wii or something, but please god no more cellphones.

like we said many time, cellphone in Japan are WAY ahead of ours and can run game graphic that are a little better then the ps1 could do ... I think the best exemple is to look at FFIII on DS, the 3D graphic are nice and all and there's some gorgeous cut-scene, so I think it may be like this...

and there's the thing that almost everyone in Japan has a cellphone. (I think it as common as us having a watch)

I was speaking idiomatically.

Square Enix Announces New FF Versus XIII Movie
12.01.06 - 4:13 PM

Just two weeks before JUMP Festa 2007, Square Enix plans to give fans a first-hand look at Final Fantasy Versus XIII and the soon-to-be playable Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII in the form of two special trailers. Those trailers will only be accessible via the members-only Square Enix Members site, though. Furthermore, both movies will only be viewable for a limited period of time. The Crisis Core trailer will be available until December 15th 12:00 am JST. The Final Fantasy Versus XIII trailer will only be viewable from December 8th until December 15th. While the former will be identical with the trailer shown at Tokyo Game Show, it is not clear whether the Final Fantasy Versus XIII trailer will include new material.
So... anyone here is a members-only S-E Members site?
I want to see the trailers

What the**** is the matter with SquareEnix, releasing trailers with membership and time limits. This is extreme, these are just trailers. Why so secretive? specially about old trailers.

Awesome Opening with a quote from Shakespeare, good move~ I like what's being shown so far, even if it's still concept CG.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Here's an swf version of the same trailer.

http://61.195.57.11/members/special/...us13_Movie.swf

The trailer was pretty good, though not really much to rave about. I mean most of the key shots from it were already shown in high res screens.

I know it's not the big thing, but I don't know, it's the music and the mood and the character that I really like about this video ^^

Exactly my thoughts. It was pretty cool in the end with the swords and his right eye turning blood red.

I need to start saving for a PS3 now.

Wow, that was indeed a nice trailer. It didn't show much but especially its simplicity and the music caught me.

And I'm not worried about purchasing Final Fantasy XIII (better say, 3 games).
We're talking about a release in (I guess) 2009, in that time the PS3 will probably drop to half the price as it is now

I got a major Kingdom Hearts II vibe. Which, obviously, makes sense.

I don't know. It's still way too early to decide whether or not any of this will be good or not.

Still, I do like the main character, even if it seems it's back to impossibly-fashionable Japanese youths again. I was digging the more realistic designs that FFXII had.

How ya doing, buddy?

I gotta say Final Fantasy XIII is the -only- PS3 title I'm looking forward too, unless Namco/Monolith decide to make a new Xenosaga game. Versus XIII actually looks decent so far, I was very skeptical when I first heard about it. Three versions of another FF thats not even out yet WTF? Hopefully by 'action' they really do mean Kingdom Hearts, and not Ehrgeiz. Final Fantasy already tried going in the FPS direction and failed misurably, lets not bother with the fighting genre. The mood, setting, and music was awesome. At first I thought it was the song from the ending credits in Phantasy Star Universe, 'With You.' If they stick with the 'Deep Dive' look, V13 should have some real promise in it.

After paying closer attention to the prologue, I sincerely hope this FF doesn't have another politically focused story. God, 12's plot is so bland, the only game I can remember doing fictional politics right was Final Fantasy Tactics. Now religion and conspiracy, it may be cliche but thats where its at!

Considering that V13 is Nomura's work , I expect no less from the man who made KH. He knows how to set a mood, and his story dealing with dark characters are superb. (C'mon, Riku has to be the most developed character in KH1 and 2.) Judging from the Shakespearen quotes, it looks like the story sis going for that kinda of shakepearean tragedy style. If its political, it might be on the lines of Macbeth or Hamlet, and those stories can be fleshed out more into a tragic character piece, and Nomura handles characters well. (even though KH2 does suffer the Chrono Cross pacing, which I hope they learned from.)

And its also been a while since I've heard a Yoko vocal piece. Very somber tone and in much her style, like a tragic version of Dearly Beloved and Deep Dive.

Its only a concept CG, but thanks to Deep Dive, I am almost certain this will become something amazing, whether is gameplay or story. Recently went back to kill the final boss of KH2 and I just get excited of what V13 will become, since the final boss of KH2 was so... epic, beautiful, tense and just plain awesome.

And the main character is designed by Nomura, so unless he changes his style we will be stuck in the pretty boy thing again and again.... But hey, its not as bad as Vaan's character model in FF12.

I was speaking idiomatically.

A look at how incredible the game is going to look in realtime. This is the outside of the area where the female character was fighting in the E3 trailer. Come on, downloadable PSN demo.

Damnit! I can't get the song from that trailer out of my head. As soon as I find the mp3 without the background sound effects [thanks anyway Ryu ] I'm going to use it on MySpace. Not that I'm into MySpace, but everyone I know keeps telling me to make a profile.

Would anyone happen to know what language it was in? I can't wait until they release a new trailer, or a preview soundtrack.
