My god, today and yesterday seem like the day when the internet was finally flooded with tons of Zelda videos, even though tons more are to come. Is anyone else trying to fight the temptation of watching the videos/looking at the screen shots and to wait to play the game completely fresh and unknowing?

I'm trying, but it's soooo tempting.

Is it just me or does it look way better than it used to in all the videos? Or is this the first wii version video they've shown?

It was the Wii version of the video shown. You can usually tell when it is or isn't since it'll have Navi on the screen. Supposedly that's the pointer(Where your Wii-mote is pointing) on the Wii version.

If you do fall to temptation, the videos don't really tell you much for all they're worth. Those 5 second clips work really well, too- just giving a glimpse of the game.

It's making me want to buy a Wii sooner than i plan to.

I'm thinking i'm gonna ask for money towards one for christmas. Either that, or i'll just ask for FFXII, and Kingdom Hears II and stuff for christmas and save my paychecks for a Wii in early 2007.

When the Wii releases i'm considering staying out of Mario's Warp Room until the day i own one of my own. We'll see what happens though.

MATT CASSAMASSINA plays 10 hours of Zelda! And barely gets through the 2nd temple in 10 HOURS! He said it'll take like 70 hours to beat it... OMG SO CRAZY. I WANT IT. NOW.

Oh and he says there's absolutely no reason to get the Gamecube version, that it's inferior in EVERY way, including the controls. Take that, Wii-version haters .

I read that article... 50-70 fucking hours?! That's crazy, I don't want a game that long. You fanboys can say what you want about me, about how I'm a "blasphemer" and blah blah blah but I have productive things beyond videogames I wanna do with my time, too

You kidding? 50-70 hours is awesome! And who said that you had to play it all through in a short time span? Instead of using the time to play different video games, you'd only be reallocating your video game time to Zelda, which is probably worth it, imo.

I kinda didn't care about the fact that I'm too broke to buy a Wii when it comes out. I just sort of figured I'd wait anyway. No big deal.

And... now, I kinda wish I hadn't come to this thread. Now, I'm thinking of what I could possibly live without, or sell, to afford a Wii + Zelda.

Not sure I should rain on your parade, but I'm going to anyways. I hope Zelda really is that long, but saying that Matt made it to the temple in 10 hours sounds more like, "It'll take anyone else 4 hours to get to the same place."

I can't remember exactly if it was him, or maybe someone else on IGN who gave a similar prediction of how long it would take to beat Metroid Prime, the estimate was about 30 hours with less then 50% found, yet those I've talked to about it on their first try it only took them around 12 hours with greater then 70%.

EDIT: Hell, even I originally beat it with a few minutes less than 13 hours with 76% found.

Also, keep in mind, he may or may not have included various side quests in his play time. The game itself might be 30-50 hours, but add optional quests and maybe that shoots it up to 70.

Yeah 60-70 hours minimum with no side quests. Go read around, Helloween. This game is going to be epic.

If you're playing a Zelda game without wanting to delve into at least some of the side quests, you've got the wrong game.

30-50 hours main game is awesome for me, as throughout the duration of the Gamecube, I only played around 4 of my 20 or so games which had that kind of length. These days, the Cube sits there only to be used in multiplayer epics (Smash Bros with my evenly matched bro).

Matt's 'updated' (as of Saturday) information on Zelda was too tempting. However, I scrolled down and tried picking out the non-spoiling, important tidbits.

DOUBLE POST: The aspect I'm loving the most ATM is the fact that Zelda has captured the mystic, dream-like feeling ICO was able to convey. Of course, I'm only talking about some areas (the foggy areas, Twilight World), but the other areas also seem to successfully convey a sense of dwarfing Link. Even the cities seem alive with people walking in the streets, stands and whatnot. Brilliant art direction has made time go slower!!!

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

It was said that a ride from one side of hyrule to the other takes 30-60 minutes so..
Anyway, I trust IGN like no other site of the kind, and I check the Wii page for updates like 5 times a day, only to find there are none.

If any of you recall, a Nintendo Power subscription/resubscription comes with an extra goodie of choice. I have to re-subscribe soon, so I checked the site for the available stuff. To my surprise, one of the choices were a combination of the Zelda guide and the soundtrack! I think I'll be getting that one.

Very fair, un-biased and spoiler free review. Although not by a profession journalist, the reviewer here is sensible and doesn't let the fanboyness get into the system during the review. I link this article because it still manages to make Zelda sound like a 10/10 game.

Some things he write I don't agree with (his view on the graphics my main gripe), but it's a minor thing. Honestly, do the graphics need to be X360 standard to be beautiful? Well okay, technically the graphics aren't advanced, but in terms of art direction and presentation, I believe Zelda delivers.

Or perhaps I should reserve judgement until the day I get it.

Edit: More reviews popping up, so far GameStats.com's average for the game so far is 9.8 for two reviews (gamespy and undergroundsomethingmajigy). There we go.

I glanced through it. I'm not going to read all of it until tomorrow morning, because it's three AM right now, but it seemed really interesting, and I have a growing suspicion that not only will it be a good review (very rare, I generally loath reviews and reviewers), but it'll get me really hyped for the coming week.

"Nintendo, thank you for growing up and giving us a story that is worthy of the game play that Zelda has boasted for over two decades."

This line annoys me for various reasons, though. Guy has obviously never played Link's Awakening or Majora's Mask (or Wind Waker for that matter; I was fairly impressed by it, too). Or perhaps this one is just that grand. I suppose it depends on how you judge stories. Anyway, I could go on for hours about that but I think I'll spend that time sleeping instead.
