Besides, there was no reason not to reavel who was on the boat. If it was Desmond, it would have only drawn audiences in more. Kind of like how they originally didn't show Walt telling Michael where to go when they are communicating by computer. It turned out that it didn't really give that much away. It was frustrating then, and then finding out that where he was going wasn't even an actual surprise pissed me off even more. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
If one thing interests me about the others, it's the fact that they love children. I'm interested to see what they've been doing with Walt and what they did to Aaron. Any ideas? There's nowhere I can't reach. ![]() |
Here's what I think the show should tell us in the Season Finale:
1. What is the monster, what does it have to do with the island? Why did it try to capture Lock, but ignore Mr. Echo. 2. What does the strange energy in the hatch have to do with typing in the numbers? 3. Are the Others related to the Dharma initiative or are they completely separate? 4. The French woman plays some sort of larger role than we've been told, I think. 5. What is this "disease" that they need to be protected from? 6. What are the Others after? (I would settle for this, at least, if they still didn't tell us who they were.) 7. Where did Desmond get off to anyway? ![]() "Lost" article in the new Newsweek tells us a few of the questions that will be answered. If you're interested check it out. I generally think the plot has been pretty tight altogether, but I think them ditching the concept of the monster was really poor of them. I mean, if they would have let it be with season 2 that would have been one thing, but then to have Echo run into it in season 2 means that it should be a part of the mythology somehow. If it was so big, and it came nearly to the beach that first night, then they should be running into it constantly, imho... This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

The first roaring one at night wasn't the monster whatever, it was the island's (or someone's) defence mechanism, i.e. a robot, which was later examined in the Season 1 finale.
The Foggy (non-sound-making) monster is a whole different being. And a boring one at that. It's been guiding Eko through his sleep now for a few episodes, I think, so it's not completely gone. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
You know, Walt isn't as huge as I thought he would be. I thought they were hiding him because of his growth spurt, but I didn't really notice it. I'm sure if there were a side-by-side comparison it'd be obvious, but I didn't really notice it by just looking at him. His voice hasn't changed either.
I was speaking idiomatically. |
They never explicitly said that there were 2 monsters. I dunno what part of the Season 1 finale you saw that "explained" that the roaring monster is a robot and different from the fog monster. The fog monster was also seen when it tried to grab Locke down a hole and they blew it up with some dynamite.
What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
I saw Malcolm David Kelley (Walt) when he was on Jimmy Kimmel Live last week, and he honestly wasn't that much different to me. He was about the same height (they were even jokingly talking about his supposed growth spurt), and his voice was about the same as well. I don't remember how old he's supposed to be on the show, but he just turned fourteen in real life, so I don't know how much of an age difference that is.

The more I keep telling myself this isn't going to happen, the more it starts to become reality.

I found it interesting, but I heard that last year, the only major market in the US where Lost's finale had higher ratings than American Idol's is Philly(my home).
Not sure what the reason is, but just found it interesting. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body?

Well that was an interesting season finale. I get the feeling we haven't seen the last of Walt. If we have, then the writers definately changed directions completely with his character and his supposed importance.

Im sure the others are not planning on Walt on leaving. I can see them coming back to the island by choice (to save Jack and co.) or because the Others want them back.
Anyone else confused by the very end with Desmond's girl? And what was with the giant foot? What came to mind after seeing that was that maybe it was built long ago, before the Others even got there? By a race, or people long ago? Maybe its Atlantis???? More questions then answers as usual. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
WELL. That was 3 hours of Lost.
That wasn't the greatest finale ever. I am left kind of like "OKAY." What I am REALLY curious about is that fucking STATUE with 4 toes. Whats up with that. Looks like the rest of the world is still intact, what with the dudes up in the SNOW or DOWN in the snow? (Where WAS that? Didn't sound RUSSIAN to me) keeping track of the explosion from the magnetic reactor. So is Locke dead? wouldn't it be fucking AWESOME if he came back as like MAGNETO or some shit with super powers from the magnetic explosion or whatever? (LAME, SASS) I was totally expecting everyone on the beach to die from that shit. ALSO. What is UP with the "rescue" that Michael and Walt will get? How ya doing, buddy? |

What we now know-
Spoiler:
What questions are now presented- Spoiler:
As usual, the Lost formula continues - For every question answered, 2 more are asked. The last scene with the hatch was so well done I almost shit myself. Definitely the best scene in Lost history. It was extremely well-directed and it was just amazing to watch. The statue raises some really interesting new questions to ponder over. Just when I thought it was over, they show the fucking arctic tundra and show the Russian guys. Wow, that threw me for a huge loop. I can't wait to see what transpires from that. But, knowing this show, we probably won't know a damn thing about it until season 4. I was moderately pleased with the finale. A lot of questions are left hanging in the balance for next season. I can't help but wonder what next season's focus will be since everything seems to be in complete chaos and disorder at this point. Most amazing jew boots ![]() |
Well, at least it was better than last season's finale.
Once again, they seem to have added more questions instead of answering the ones they had. I know they had to do it, to have more stuff for next year. I really thought there was gonna be another plane crash when they didn't press the button. I don't know if what Desmond did with that key prevented it or not, but since now we know how the first plane crash happened it seems like it could have been a possibility. Well, I'm not desperately waiting for the next season to start, but I am curious about what will happen. There's nowhere I can't reach. ![]() |
Okay, they said they would examine the reasons why people were disappointed by the Season 1 finale and fix them. In my opinion, they hardly did. I have very little excitement for Season 3. They once again made the finale super ambiguous in many ways and, if Season 3 is anything like Season 2, most or all of them will not be answered until the end of the season. It's like I'm not really anticipating anything, but rather I'm left scratching my head, and I don't even care anymore.
Furthermore, I was disappointed on how it turned out the plane crash had to do with the button. That was the theory since like the very beginning of the season; I didn't think it would be true or not so simple. Oh, and the monster was not in this finale. Or any other threat that might make a roaring/growling sound as I clearly heard in the trailer during the clip in which Jack was shooting. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
But yah, that foot has me curious. I was like "wtf?" And I personally thought that this season finale was much better than the end of season 1 and left many more questions unanswered that I don't wanna wait all summer to find out the answers xp I wanna know now xp I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body?

Another question - How did Pen know to look for a god damn electromagnetic anomaly to find Desmond?
When the hatch door came flying at Claire I thought for sure it was another plane coming down, but alas, I was wrong, and that sucks. What makes next season worth watching for me is just how different it's going to be based solely on everything that happened tonight. I was speaking idiomatically. ![]() |
Another thing that stuck me as interesting is it seems that Henry Gale is the leader of the Others, and when he said we are the good guys I really believe he thinks they are.
If you look at the Hanso Foundations and there goals to better the human race, maybe they are using the island, which has this weird aura about it, to conduct these experiments...I really feel they think they are doing whats right, its just the way they are going about it, there a bit nuts. I'd like to know what all the blinding white stuff was. Actually, I'd almost like to know what would've happened if Desmond didn't turn the key. FELIPE NO |
What sucks about the answered questions is that we all pretty much guessed them beforehand... I was hoping for some shocking answers. Well, I guess one could be that Henry was actually a member of some importance in the Others little clique thing... What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? ![]() |
Two of the things that I found the most interesting that no one has touched on so far are:
The bearded guy (Kelven, I think?) who rescued Desmond is the one who painted the clue to get to the Pearl station... very strange. Also, I thought that was pretty sneaky that the Others' supposed beach camp was just a front, and that nothing was behind the big metal doors. Since they abandoned that facility where they messed around with Claire, they've got to be somewhere else. Maybe they're all hiding inside the foot statue. ![]() It was a pretty neat twist that the Pearl station ended up being the psychological experiment, I thought. I was hoping they'd reveal a bit more about why the Others seem to know so much. One thing that's been bothering me since they gave Michael that list is that they referred to Sawyer by his real name, James Ford. If they had been spying on the survivors, they'd know him as Sawyer, and since they don't have access to the manifest, they must have some other means of tracking who landed on the island. Also, not sure if this is a new clue, but during the commercials they had an ad for www.hansocareers.com. I really suck at decoding these things, but I managed to get some jumbled up letters out of it so far. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
