I didn't see anything about this after a search of the thread, so I'll go ahead and post it.
I just discovered a way to download new popular J-pop (don't laugh at me) by searching for torrents with the keyword Oricon. I was shocked at how easy it was, as a search of Oricon at Isohunt.com resulted in plenty of torrents of recent singles. The first post says nothing about this, so I thought maybe it should be added. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
most people would just go to jpopsuki.com There's nowhere I can't reach. ![]() |
No Glay? That's a sin! :P
BTW, the group I Wish no longer exist since the beginning of the year. Their last album released in 08 Feb this year was to be their last album. May need to update the first post of this thread. Kawashima Ai would still be continuing her music career as a single artist (she has released 2 albums since). This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. ![]() |
joey: Yes, I'm aware of the situation with I Wish and Kawashima Ai. That first post is in need of a serious overhaul, artists missing, updates and what-not, but the thing is it's a huge job. That took me ages to do back when I had a large amount of free time. I don't these days and am very busy so I apologise but for now it's going to have to remain somewhat out of date.
I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
hm, what if we make a wiki for this, aside from just updating the first post?
but then, that's a larger job. >_< I was speaking idiomatically. |
You have already done a really great job in the first post OmagnusPrime, so much details and information. A really good introduction for people who want to get into Jpop.
How about just linking the artist to the wikipedia, like what they are doing in the classical music sheet thread in the concert hall. This way all the information concerning each artist would be current. Most amazing jew boots ![]() |

Question: I've been trying to get a hold of Ayumi Hamasaki's Arena Tour 2005. Does anyone have it or can find me a torrent for me? I've looked for awhile but haven't found a working one. They're all dead. Thanks.
What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

Not sure about BT but if you don't mind downloading using emule or edonkey, there is a page that has all her stuff here:
http://lib.verycd.com/2005/12/10/0000078942.html Well, the file names are in Chinese but the contents are still in Japanese.... I have downloaded a few things from there and the source is quite good. Jam it back in, in the dark. ![]() |
I've had yifei's album arrive today, along with the Tokyo Friends The Movie: Music Collection, which turns out to be a CD+DVD, plus some cool looking badges. Woot. There's nowhere I can't reach. |

Multiregion DVD players are dead cheap these days. Although I'm fortunate enough in region 2 (UK) I have a Sony multiregion player I got years ago and it was very reasonably priced back then (and reasonably priced for the UK at that). You should look into getting one if you want get future Japanese DVDs, like concerts and the DVDs that come with albums/singles, etc.

If you're looking to just play DVDs on your computer, go and visit http://www.dvdidle.com and think about buying the DVD Region Free + CSS Free Lite package, which is only about $25. I've been using the program for three years now and I have had no issues at it with all. It's definitely worth the investment, considering it is a painless install, it's cheaper than buying a multi-region player (although the gap is probably closing), and saves you the hassle/danger of having to manually change region on your PC (which you can only do so many times).
Yes, I did try a cracked version of it first as well >_> It did not work, which led me to actually buy the program, haha. I was speaking idiomatically. |
That's true, I use AnyDVD from SlySoft which is equally effective. If you're happy watching stuff on your PC then definitely a good idea.
What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
buy a region free dvd drive

ah craps...
does anyone feel my pain??? I'm slowly dying without watching that movie!!! Jam it back in, in the dark. ![]() |
And of course, I wouldn't be talking about I remember you if I didn't have it uploaded. Ta-da! How ya doing, buddy? |
![]() How ya doing, buddy? |
As for I remember you, well I've got into lots of details with various people about that song and I'm pretty sure I've mentioned stuff here too but don't recall fully. It's a song inspired by YUI's work on "Taiyou no Uta" and as a way for her to say goodbye to the character. The PV is a collaboration with the director from the film and the keen eyed will spot the non-too-subtle use of same locations. It's a gorgeous song and a great PV and I can't wait for my copy (limited edition woot) to arrive. I also have the Premium Edition of the DVD on order. ![]() I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
Taiyou no Uta!!! I have that movie sitting in my room right now....
YUI is the main lead right? ahhhhhhhhhhhh I'm so excited seeing her act!!!! I'm still agonizing over Tokyo Friends the movie.... I was speaking idiomatically. ![]() |
She is indeed, and she's wonderful in it (if you need English subs I have some I worked on that I can send).
Speaking of YUI, my copy of I remember you arrived today. Limited edition including DVD and even a packet of seeds too. <3 I also got my copy of GAM's debut single too. ^^ How ya doing, buddy? |
Speaking of which, is anyone else puzzled by Taiyou no Uta's success on the Oricon charts? How ya doing, buddy? |
The answer to your query is this: "1 litre of tears"
I don't know Sawajiri Erika at all but I know she's in that and that people loved her in it. Another sob-story character and she's got people invested in it. It's clever marketing and good work so I can't say I'm surprised by its success at all. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
<3 YUI
Taiyou no Uta (Movie), to be blunt, was nothing special though, besides YUI being in it. Jam it back in, in the dark. ![]() |
