Yeah, and if you accidentally do send in the hard drive, you'll never see it again. It's happened to people before. Even though they tell you on the phone not to send in anything other than the console, and it's even on the sheet that comes in the coffin.

I was watching NBC news last night and there was a segment about the X360 issues. Seems like MS has finally owned up and acknowledged the issues and mentioned the warranty was yet again upped, this time to time to 3 years and they will exchange one's console for a new one...

A start, I guess! Especially if MS stop screwing people over by sending refurbs that are still buggered. I am kind of hoping they keep on screwing up until they are forced to upgrade everyone to an Elite. But, I am hearing from at least one person that his drive has already failed so maybe it's time for MS to do a complete re-haul of the console, you know, what it should have been from the start, if MS hadn't rushed to cream their pants and beat Sony to the market.

if MS hadn't rushed to cream their pants and beat Sony to the market.
At the same time though I felt that Sony rushed out their system, thus making them a big loss in profits. I know how people are spouting out about "# of sales here made more than <system>", but I look at it this way,

(Each item is $10)
If you lost $1000 on making items, and then sold say 100 items to regain that $1000, while someone else only lost say $500, but made only 75 item sales, then the 2nd person made a profit of $250, while the first made $0. Under those circumstances, I think that the 2nd person was having a good business, even if they didn't make as many unit sales as the first. Number of units is only there for the "popular" count, but if you aren't making profits, how is that helping you?

Also just recently they announced that the PS3 is dropping $100 starting today.
...and with that 5 ps3s already left our store. Just like that out of nowhere

But as for me, I just need to get that system to complete the next gen collection. With the way things are though, I can get a ps3 for like $380

Other than that, the games i'm getting on the 360 are Bioshock, Dynasty Warriors: Gundam, Warriors Orochi, Blue Dragon, and Lost Odyessy.

Once I get a PS3, my library is going to increase even more.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Summer BC update. Some great shit on there. Morrowind, Marvel vs Capcom 2, and Outruns 2 and Coast to Coast are some of my favorites. Now the only thing I give a shit about that doesn't work is RSC2.

BloodRayne 2 and Silent Hill 2. Awesome.

I am curious as to how Guilty Gear looks upscaled...it should look really good, since upscaling 2-D usually works well.

It seems like all xbox360 models will now have HDMI support.

It's been rumored that the new consoles being made also have a new heatsink and the new 65nm chipset, has anyone heard anything about that?

The 65nm chipset isn't in stores yet. The new premium 360s showing up in stores simply have the "Zephyr" hardware revision that's in all current 360 Elites, which still has the 90nm chipset... and some additional heatsinks.

What's the deal with the silent DVD drive I hear they're putting into the newer models? One of my only problems with my 360 is that it sounds like a helicopter is landing in my living room when I play a disc.

There is no new DVD drive. You have the option (luck) of getting either a Samsung or Hitachi. I believe the Hitachi is the one that is sounds like a jet engine.

On second thought, the 360 is a loud piece of shit regardless of whether or not a disc is inside.

See, I don't think mine's that loud.
Agreed. It's loud at times, but not overly so. I can happily play games or watch movies on it without being aware of the noise the 360 is producing. My new console even seems quieter than the previous one, which is nice. And if there's no disc in, or it's not accessing the disc, it's perfectly quiet.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Mine has been A LOT quieter since I got it back from repairs. Even with a disc in the drive.

I'd love to get a 360 with Eternal Sonata and Ace Combat 6... but all these failure stories keep me from buying one... I don't like sending things off for repairs even if free. It's an annoying process and should be eliminated.... Microsoft should be forced to send people to your door to fix it. :P

TGS says lick my balls

Notables: Rez and Ikaruga on arcade, Shikigami no Shiro III, and details or videos for LO, LR, NG2, and other such things. Itagaki also making Steve Jobs like statements such as "just as DOA4 was the premier fighting game when it was released at the 360's launch and remains the premier fighting game today."

Fun for all. Read, discuss, masturbate, etc.

Tri-Ace/ Square announced Infinite Discovery for the 360 at the Pre TGS Microsoft Press Con.

Microsoft Tokyo Presser: Microsoft's Pre-TGS Presser - Kotaku

If this is anything like VP2, so gonna get it.

And Rez on 360? Nice, I've always wanted to try that game from the good things I've heard on it.

Infinite Undiscovery was just announced today? Whoops.

From the looks of screens, it looks like an Eternal Sonata type or turn-based (Hopefully not).

EDIT:

That screen just gave me the impression of why I described it as an ES-type or whatnot.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Well VP2 was turnbased, but also had real time combos and terrain strategy. If Infinite is anything like that, I'm game. That screenshot looks pretty.

No!

Anyhoo, HD Ikaruga, yes fucking please. Also Infinite Discovery looks neat, I'll have to keep an eye out for gameplay videos to see what it's like.

Ah, beat me to it.

Tri-Ace is gonna have to do something fantastic to make me give a hoot about any of their junk ever again. Nothing they've done since 2001 had any redeeming value in it.

Undiscovery has potential, sure, but I won't be surprised if it's gutter trash.
