ah! but Ill be one of those who actually finished the game at 100% which is something that I like to do if I can.
You can never know that I mean, how do you know that you finished the game at exactly 100%. There could be additional dungeons or stuff...

There's nowhere I can't reach.

I wish I had the Genji Gloves, but it's more than likely that this thing would combo ridiculously. With Berserk+Bravery on, even enemies with layers of defense would still eat 9,999. You should see how it reacts when an enemy tries to parry (Baknamy, Elvorets, various Skeletons) , it simply keeps swinging until it kills them. If I'm not mistaken, Berserk also increases the likelihood of combos, though I'd have to find out for sure.
I was able to steal the Genji Helm and Genji Armor from Gilgamesh during the 2nd duel. So I'm guessing if you steal from him during the first duel on the bridge, you'll snatch the Genji Shield and Gloves.

But anyway, it doesn't make that much difference. The Helm and Armor increase multiple hits well enough. I put the Genji shit on Penelo, and she usually combos 3-5 hits every 3 swings she does with the Masamune (she holds the Masamune like, well, a teenage girl too, barely being able to hold it - she looks P-A-T-H-E-T-I-C).
So when you talk about the Wyrmhero Blade doing combo hits every single attack, I can't imagine the insanity damage (well, 9999 x??) it'll do with any Genji shit equipped along with Haste + Beserk.

And yeah, it's not licensed just like how the Treaty Blade isn't. It acts as those free-user weapons, and SHOULD since you went through hell and highwater just to get the damn thing. I'd laugh my ass off if my Vaan was Level 1, 120 HP and 32 MP, with a Wyrmhero Blade on him. That's like picking on a 5 year old thin kid who's got a loaded nuclear device in his pocket o_O!!!!!

I still don't know what the Wyrmhero Blade looks like, so I'd give applause to whoever wants to post a picture up of it. But for now, Vaan has the 109 attack Ragnarok (with Immobilize), Basch with the 120 attack Excalibur (holy damage), Balthier with the 93 attack Masamune (Genji equipped), and Fran with the cool Sagittarius + Assassin's arrows. I'm still on my way to forging the Tournesol.

True, but you still feel the closure in getting the thing you've spent hours trying to find. Even though its a fantasy-based game, think of all those individuals in real life who have spent many YEARS trying to acquire a rare object, much like treasure hunting. You're doing the same thing. And no, I'm not giving a further lecture about it cause it'll spawn pages worth.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Penelo looks sexy with any 2-Handed weapon in my book! But, you're right about Genji Gloves. It averages to about like 3 Hits but that's still good. The highest I've seen with Vaan was 8 Hits with Genji Gloves & Masamune but that was really rare.

Spoiler:
But I would like to see Reddas with the Genji Gloves. That bitch averages like 7 Hits per fight! He is ridiculously an insane combo giver! Reddas + Wyrmhero + Genji Gloves = PCP addict

I'm up to the Feywood, I quit with the fishing (got to midstream) and didn't do the foot race yet. I like how when I was like level 20, I FREAKED out in the Feywood, and almost died. It's hilarious to see now that some of them do like zero damage.

However, I have to say I'm gravely disappointed with the Espers in this game. I test drove a few of them, and just summoned them near a save crystal, went out and let them do their thing. I find the 1 bar espers utterly useless. I also checked out Zeromus Bigbang, and that did like, what 3000 damage to one of the Feywood giant bird beasts? Unimpressive. At any rate, my main team is high 50s now, and they're crushing most of everything that comes their way now. I once feared the Feywood, now it fears me. I also took out that Boss at the end of the Feywood faster than I could input my preset gambits for items in, I was like what, 1/4 health left? But I barely did anything!

Tomahawk, that reminds me, I've been playing all 101 hours of this game on wait mode, as well as middle speed for the whole time. I gotta try that fast speed sometime, makes it look SO OVERDRIVED! I don't know, at this stage, there are somethings I don't feel like doing anymore, like the rest of the fishing hunt, nor the foot race. I just feel like going to the next hunt and then some.

Also, someone kept mentioning a gamefaqs autolevel trick, hwoever I checked the special guides but didn't see it (because I'm blind?). ;__;

It's called the "Negalmuur Auto-Leveling Guide" in the In-Depth FAQs section.

I beat the "story mode" of FFXII a week ago and before I write down my entire opinion about this game, here's my question:

Spoiler:
Didn't anyone feel like with the appearance of Bahamut.. "What? WHAT? That's the end of the game already???" I really thought at that point that I was about halfway through the story because nothing much happened (well, it didn't feel so IMO) besides collecting nethicites... with the appearance of the Occuria and with Ashe as the chosen one I thought that now it's getting interesting but tadaa... welcome to the final dungeon.
Vayne really has to be one of the most under-developed FF-villian since NES times. It seemed that there had to be done so much more about his character. For me he was the first villian I truly respected since Edea from FF8, because he was the first villian in combination with Cid who had a master-mind and was very intelligent and was NOT mad or too feminine. He was the "bad guy", though his motives were reasonable. However he barely got screentime throughout the game and had virtually no interaction with the protagonists. For me it's a shame, he really had the potential to be my favorite villian of the FF series.

Discussion about who the final boss is should be placed with spoil tags, please, as not all of us are done this game yet =/.

For spoil tags:

[ spoil ] TEXT GOES HERE[/ spoil ]

without the spaces between the "[" and the "spoil" and end brackets.

Output looks like this:

Spoiler:
AERIS DIES

It's good that I just by chance, happen to know who the final boss is by accidentally flipping to the end of the pages, hoping to look at the hunts, but instead ended up on the last page.

Ok, the information is spoilered now.
I just thought after over 3000 posts, FFXII players, who haven't beat the game, would avoid such huge threads since it's natural that many people have finished it and want to discuss. Well, at least I did so.

And in fact, I didn't reveal the final boss

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Hah, that guy wiping out Fafnir was psycho. He must have been level 99 before he got Reddas, too, with the amount of life Reddas had. Insane the amount of time that would take.

I finally went out and did some stuff today, including killing a new rare game and obtaining two more espers: Exodus and that fat one in the Waterway (I hate that place). Exodus was easy, but the other one took a bit due to the HP Sap. I would've gotten three Espers if I hadn't died just when the boss was just literally seconds away from dying : / It was Zeromus.

The rare game I got was Drowned, and I did the seven sisters sidequest.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Exodus was even more easy than the fatty chululu guy which I refuse, or more correctly, am to lazy to spell correctly. I just kept souleating him, with Basch being the white mage to heal up the ones inflicted. I do agree somewhat with Zeromus and his gravity attacks. What levels are you at that poses you difficulty and getting your 6 (wo)man team wiped out?

Everyone's at level 48-51.

I was running out of Phoenix Downs and the Skeletons eventually overwhelmed me. That was when Zeromus was on the verge of death. That makes it suck even more. Just a couple more hits could've got him. Boooo...

I was actually surprised at how hard it was to find and start the fishing minigame. Not being a fan of word scrambles, I faqued my way through that part as well, and all things said and done, I think I went from downstem to fully done with Lu Shang Badge in something between 2 and 3 hours, counting the time spent to run around from place to place finding the clues, and back to Barheim etc.

What can I say, the fishing game was a pretty big letdown compared to something like say, Xeno III's HaKox, at least, if you're a fan of twitchy button pressy stuff like that.

Honestly, I hate mini games like that, pressing buttons. It's just NOT FUN. It's not challenging in a way that it makes me want to improve on myself, and I'm the type that MUST keep looking down at my controller if its for movement that I don't normally do. How many times do you have to look down at your controller to press X to confirm you want to cast magick? None, right?

Freelance, I can see where you are coming from with the lack of phoenix downs. I was in the same pinch with the Chaos esper, but I prevailed. Check my post on the previous page.

I was able to steal the Genji Helm and Genji Armor from Gilgamesh during the 2nd duel. So I'm guessing if you steal from him during the first duel on the bridge, you'll snatch the Genji Shield and Gloves.
The problem is, I never knew that was the only way to obtain the Genji equipment, so I missed out entirely. Toss it into the Zodiac Spear-category of miserable lost forevers.

Quote:

Wow, the armor also increases combos as well? Sounds nice, but I probably wouldn't give up my newly claimed Grand Armor for a few more hits.

I agree that Penelo looks ridiculous using the Masamune, but so does Vaan using a greatsword (he crosses his arms awkwardly), or Ashe with it. The only one that really looks and strikes awesomely with it, is Fran. I think that's mainly due to the weapon's size and her height, along with outfit, complimenting each other.

Quote:
So when you talk about the Wyrmhero Blade doing combo hits every single attack, I can't imagine the insanity damage (well, 9999 x??) it'll do with any Genji shit equipped along with Haste + Beserk.
Needless to say, it'll hurt. But, by that point, there's really not much that can survive said abuse except for some remaining rare game/end bosses.

Quote:
And yeah, it's not licensed just like how the Treaty Blade isn't. It acts as those free-user weapons, and SHOULD since you went through hell and highwater just to get the damn thing. Yeah, it'd be hilarious to see, though limited. He'd only be able to survive against certain enemies, since even the 50 evasion won't save you.

Quote:

I'll try to take a photo of it with the same camera I used to get the Omega/Yiazmat/SPD shots I put up before. The weapon itself actually looks nice, the problem is the crippling speed handicap they applied to it. Basically, if you don't have it, you're not missing much as it's little more than a Excalibur+Tournesol+Gun combination. The last part is the speed problem.

Yuyu_Zeta, the Necrophobe trick works like a charm. Just one problem though: Reapers. These things always spawn when he's there, and also when he's not.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Dam, yesterday i did the pharos dungeon. I opened the chest that should contain the circlet. But i opened it with a diamond armlet equipped, so i got a...sucking regen ring.
So, is there another way to easily get the circlet? I really need it for the masamune. Or does that chest respawn if i go back to pharos?

Can you please answer me?...it's important ^^.

Treasure chests respawn, so don't worry about it. Just take off your Diamond Armlet when you try again.

I finally defeated Zodiark! Why the fuck does he have to be such a bitch when he's about to die. Doing all those cheap immunity spells. Oh well, I Scathed his ass to death. Thank goodness.

Oh and I finally found the Brave Suit in a chest WITHOUT Diamond Armlet. So I guess there are two chests that spawn them. One near the Save Crystal and one in the Special Charter Shaft zone near Zodiark.

Reddas is NOT level 99 - he was Bubbled to 9999 HP. Reddas was in my party for about 10 hours of my playtime, and he didn't level up while the rest of my party did. There's an EXP limit to your guests - they hit a certain amount of experience and then they stop gaining it indefinitely.

He got his characters to Level 99 even BEFORE 98 hours of playtime - which means he went on a, what I call, "Power Trip" - probabaly auto-leveled at Overlooking Eternity in Nabudis Deadlands with those constant skellies spawning. You can also try "Power Tripping" in the Great Sphere just outside Ultima's save point where theres constant Forbidden spawning up and offer about 2000 EXP per kill.

The chest will respawn. Here's an example that'll help you keep your faith in getting it:

My first time I went through the Feywood to the Edge of Reason - there's a chest there with a mine blocking it to the southeast section. I opened it without the Diamond Armlet and got something stupid. Proceeded through Giruvega, the Great Crystal, then Pharos.
Later on, I came back to that spot to pick up some Serpent Eyes from the Basilisks and found the chest again. Diamond Armlet equipped, I got the Ensauguined Shield (misspell = probably).
With this in mind, if you're just unlucky in picking up your powerful stuff the first time around, try again later.

Metal, I've tested it.
Penelo + Masamune with Rubber Suit + Crown of Laurels = no combos (she did a 3-hit combo after her 6th attack or so)

Penelo + Masamune with Genji Armor + Genji Helm = 3-hit combo, 2-hit combo, -no combo-, -no combo-, 5-hit combo, 3-hit combo, 4-hit combo.

I'll try doing more solo attacks with her just to make sure I can hold my tongue on this.

Actually, you could conceivably get Larsa at level 99 if you were at said level when you obtained him. You're right about the bubbling though, as no playable character in this game comes anywhere near of said HP mark (this is a refreshing change, IMO, from what usually happens in FFs).

Guest characters gain no experience, but they do drain it, I guess as a penalty for having a character that could help you level faster.

The armor thing isn't all surprising, as that's probably its purpose. Unfortunately, putting something like that on when you're in high level areas only means that character (or others) are going to have to stop and constantly heal. Necrophobes, for example, do a surprisingly large amount of damage through Protect+Grand Armor+Grand Helm. I'd rather use the gloves... but on a weapon that's close behind in combo ability. Hence, spread out combo damage.

How ya doing, buddy?

The text is part of the image and the two squires aren't exactly even.

Heh, that makes three of us now.
I don't know if I'm considered the 4th man, but I scathed Chaos to complete shit. I got worked up about fighting him because Metal constantly warned us about his Aeroja attack that confuses your party, so I kept Chaos aside too long.

Vaan was equipped with anti-Confuse, while Basch and Ashe ran around like, LOL, decapitated chickens which made me laugh hard. It was one of those exceptional moments where it was better to let them die to Arise them with no status ailments. In which I Reflectgaed them and Triple-Scathed Chaos to a complete pile of SHIT (uh, like I said ^^).

Gesus, talk about easy... The "Reflect Trick" was just so damn overpowered

Oh yeah, and lastly: Behemoth King = asshole! enuff said

There's nowhere I can't reach.
