That's weird. If he could do that, why didn't he just manipulate the glass and shatter it? Rather than waiting for someone and then getting caught again.

He probably can't manipulate objects that precisely right now, which is why he needed to use a metal object to break the glass, seeing that there were no other usable objects around his cell. It (super)naturally should take more energy to shatter glass of that magnitude than to shatter a normal drinking glass. That's my theory anyways, take it or leave it.

Maybe Sylar can only use his powers when another one of him is nearby. Or rather when someone broken like him is nearby.
And he can manipulate glass - remember when he threw it with his mind? Jam it back in, in the dark. ![]() Want obscure Classical Music CDs? Search: http://www.lib.uwo.ca/ PM me the code, I'll rip it for ya [MAX 2 CDS/User] |
I know he can manipulate an unfixated drinking glass, but can he manipulate a fixated, really tough, supposedly bullet-proof glass window? In that case, what's stopping him from breaking the wall and flee out the other way?
I don't remember, but did the glass he manipulated earlier break in mid-air or did it break upon slamming against something, like a wall? Edit: On second thought, I don't think they thought about this at all since. If the glass is bullet-proof(which it should be) it wouldn't break either way. But since we're using Hollywood glass physics here I guess it can't be helped. If, however, he CAN break stuff like that at will he should be able to break almost anything. It would mean that he could manipulate the very atoms of the object itself and telekinetically make them repel. This would make him mighty indeed. Too mighty. There's nowhere I can't reach.

I like the theory of the gun, is correct, if you watch the scene again. Just before Edan is flung at the glass the camera pans to the gun. Nobody picked this up but to me it sounds like Sylar is angry who he has become, an addict - killing to collect powers. "You knew didnt you...you knew what I was and you let it continue." Im still uncertain how Sylar is able to block out Edan powers, he hasn't absorbed them yet because he says to her that he will. My current conclusion is that because he understand how it works it has no effect. Did anyone notice that sylar is always left in the dark until someone comes in to visit, it would seem then that he can only use his power of analysis with sight. Therefore a good way to stop him would be to blind him. Another thing I noticed, is that Hero doesn't have his sword or goaty, so Peter premanition happens before we see Hero fight a T-Rex. Which is disappointing cos I can't wait for that episode lol This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

New comic is out. So, they are going to be releasing comics every week even when the show of off air for now.
http://www.nbc.com/Heroes/novels/ Peter's in a coma. Most amazing jew boots |
I'm not an expert at observing the little clues, but is it possible that someone had the power to implant the vision of Peter being the bomb so he would obsess about it and eventually become the villian?
How ya doing, buddy?

It just seems so odd that he suddenly has a vision when no one around him had the power to have visions of the future. Isaac has the power to paint images of the future, but not have full motion visions of it. It just seems very fishy to me. Someone had to want to make Peter believe he was going to be evil and eventually accept it.

Most notable information was Eden's backstory (#9) and confirmation that .. you know.. (comic #11) Jam it back in, in the dark. |
Yeah, thanks for the info about the comic, striped phantom, I had no idea it existed. I'm sure someone has mentioned it in this thread before, though. Just didn't feel like reading each and every reply.

This has nothing to do with the theories of the show, but rather the weird Zach "ungay" controversy. It was brought up in this weeks Ask Ausiello and it's kind of strange.
http://www.afterelton.com/TV/2006/12/heroes.html Either NBC made Zach go back into the metaphorical closet, or the actor wanted his character to go back to straight. Either way, it's strange. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Wait...Zach was gay? We are talking about Claire's friend right? I always thought he had the hots for her from day one...
I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
Maybe the Haitian man took the 'gayness' out of Zach when erasing his Claire memories lol.
I was speaking idiomatically. |
LOL, there was basically some questions when people constantly made gay jokes about him on the show, which I kind of chalked up to today's high school environment. But people basically said, 'Ok, he is' when he said something like, "I know who and what I am and I'm happy with that. I don't care what other people think." Even though he didn't outwardly say it. I don't know what I really think. I just like the duo of Claire and Zach being her sidekick.

Oh, lame. They never outrightly said anything either way, but with the MySpace account it seemed fairly assured that he was gay. I was thinking that it's one of the few shows where I felt they had a fair portrayal of a younger gay character, and they go and back down on it. Either way, though, it's going to be hard to reintroduce his character, if they do at all. I'm thinking it's pretty doubtful.

You know, if the phase out Zach, that makes me a bit worried that they will phase out every other side-character in the series. And it makes me worried because without Ando, Hiro really wouldn't feel like Hiro anymore, know what I mean?
Jam it back in, in the dark. |
I totally agree with the whole side-character's/sidekicks. Claire and Zach are a pair and I loved to watch that whole story. Ando balances Hiro out from just being all "X-Men/Video Games/Anime" Hero all the time. If they take them away, that takes away a big part of the show for me.
It's like on Smallville. They've stupidly set themselves up by establishing the character of Chloe, who is basically Clark's best friend/confidante/sidekick, and brought in a very poorly interpreted version of Lois Lane who has little to no depth to her. So eventually they are going to have to kill or make Chloe leave and everyone loves Chloe, no one loves Lois. I think it's really important for a show like Heroes to show not only how the view of the people who have obtained powers, but also the normal people who interact with the heroes. There's nowhere I can't reach.

Heroes, while it's disjointed with how many characters it has, even though it works really well, still manages to have a core story, and everyone is connected, whereas Smallville pretty much introduces people that don't matter in the long run. How ya doing, buddy? |
Well that wasn't the point I was making, but Smallville hasn't fully lost touch with Clark's destiny considering the main goal for Clark right now is to send all the Phantoms he released from the Phantom Zone back and then begin his training to fulfill his destiny. And as for introducing people that don't matter in the long run....they've introduced Lois, though as tepid and shallow as she is right now, Jimmy Olsen, they introduced characters who will help form the Justice League (Even though Cyborg is in Smallville's version.). I was just bringing up Chloe because she's not in any of the comics or anything, but she's a loved character and it's not going to be the same without her.
Not to get off topic, since this is a Heroes forum. =P I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body?

Are you on the list???
Godsend: Trailer 1 Godsend: Trailer 2 Godsend: Trailer 3 There seems to be a new baddy, "How can you see me?", very good trailers lots to speculate over. Unfortunately Hiro doesn't seem to teleport himself into the Jurassic age, he seems to just be at a museum. I was speaking idiomatically. |
