I thought about that for a moment, but I think they did it to keep too much blood out of the scene to keep the rating at an okay level (note that you didn't see any blood from Kate either). I just read about a scene in MI3 in Wired where JJ Abrams had to remove blood from Tom Cruise's face to keep a PG-13.

That's the only thing I can think of as a reason for Libby to be alive. The shots werent in the middle, and there's a shit load of stuff in the hatch a bullet can richochet off of.

That and she never got her episode of flashbacks, which seemed kind of neccessary after her being in the mental hospital and all.

It's probably no coincidence that they killed off the two women who were thrown in jail for drunk driving.

Well according to that link previously posted, them getting shot and having a DUI was just a coincidence.

Double Post:
Also, can we please not reveal anything about the webgame or at least put it in spoiler tags? I for one feel that we should not have to use spoiler tags when referring to past episodes as it would be illogical for someone who hasn't seen the show to browse to the last page of the thread, however...

The game is supposed to be a journey for the viewers, and not all of us are going to make the same steps. I, for one, don't want to get any clues off of the internet and do things for myself, so having parts of the game spoiled (like passwords) for me kind of pisses me off.

Or maybe we could make a separate thread about it just to avoid this?

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

How come no one is discussing Jack's possible half-sister? Was that woman his father was talking to Kate's mom? I think she only showed up in one episode, but that kind of looked like her. But didn't Kate already talk with her real father (an army general or something)?

Jam it back in, in the dark.

I am pretty sure that a few pages back, we decided not to use spoiler tags, Mushypie.

Why. Was this decision a bad one?

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Sure, their DUI didn't affect the script but perhaps the fact that they knew they were going to be killed off probably stressed them. But... they weren't very good actors anyways.

Claire is Jack's sister? What.

Okay, except Michelle Rodriguez only wanted to be on there for one season. So how is that stress to her? As for Cynthia Watros, we're not absolutely sure her character is even dead yet. Basically, I don't think either situation affected the other.

No. It's far worse than that. Kate may be his half sister is what the episode alluded to, I think, according to others here. I must of missed the one that featured Kate's mom so I didn't pick up on that myself.

Hay guys, reiterated: both Libby and Ana Lucia were planned to be shot; their DUI is a coincidence.

Supposedly before the season ends:
Spoiler:
A lot more people are going to die in pretty violent ways. I'm wondering if characters are being killed off on purpose because next season will introduce a lot more characters. (Others are recurring characters?)

Although they didn't hype it as such, I'm really looking forward to next week's episode which is supposed to answer a lot of questions, including what the ? on the map is, and what the hatch's purpose is for. Based on the leaked callsheet from the season finale:
Spoiler:
The entire hatch/bunker gets destroyed.

Which is somewhat of a mirror of the first season finale.

Also, based on that same callsheet
Spoiler:
Eko doesn't die next week. But I don't know how he'll survive that supposed plunge.

I suppose next week's flashbacks will focus on Micheal's encounter with the Others.

Keep in mind, those are a set of flashbacks I'll be looking forward to. As for whether the info he gave to Jack was false, I believe he was partly lying. The bit about tents and an extra hatch are likely true, the part about them being lightly armed and consisting mostly of women are not.

Really hope that doesn't happen.
Spoiler:
I love the set for the Hatch so to see that go kaboom would be shite as far as I'm concerned. Also, Sawyer or Charlie better not snuff it. If the rumours of more character deaths is true and it's both/either of those two I will be most annoyed. If anything, I can see it being either Michael, Rose/Bernard or Claire that kick the can.

That isn't Kate's mom... her mother is played by, Beth Broderick. And we already know who the father is (assuming she isn't adopted.)

Actually, I could be wrong:

Spoiler:
The call sheet says (rather vaguely) that the door from the hatch lands on the beach where other losties are. This is after a scene where Eko/Locke get more dynamite from the Black Rock. So in different contexts it could be any given hatch.

But my assumption is that it's the hatch we're familiar with. For one, I'm kind of tired of it; I bet other people are too. It's time for a change of scenery. And I think the whole button-pushing plot is going to be resolved; I don't think they'll be pushing the button for another three seasons. My guess is that Locke will find out that the purpose of the hatch is bad (as Walt said a long, long time ago) and he'll blow it to high hell with plenty of dynamite.

Didn't Kate already deal with "both" her fathers, the real one and the adoptive one?

Libby will probably die, but slowly. They don't have the means to treat such a serious wound, Sawyer nearly died from his. Libby will probably have a tearful end telling Hurley she was in the hospital with him or something.

I don't think so.

Otherwise, she would say, "MICHAEL SHOT ME, GUYS!"

That's not gonna happen.

If they pull a "ughh... how did I end up on the floor with 2 bullet wounds... I can't remember anything" I'm going to fucking punch J.J. Abrams in the face.

Haha, I would actually not be surprised. But, she could be unconscious for a time long enough that Michael gets away from the trouble.

Otherwise, she'll need to have died, because Michael will be in a world of shit if he really shot himself.

I honestly dont see Libby dying so easily... I think that her wounds will be non-fatal due to the blanket being there to help shield the blow. She had way WAY too much of a plant to not have any payoff. Come on, she was in the same god damned mental hospital as Hurley. They won't kill her just yet. Maybe she'll go into a coma and then snap out of it later. Either way, there's no way they can kill her.

Ana Lucia is gonzo though. Her story is pretty wrapped up as far as I can tell. Her encounter with Jack's father is interesting, but I can't see her tale going much further than this. Plus, I hated her fucking guts, so, that's a plus.

Before I saw the episode, I looked on a news ticker and saw the words "shot" and "Lost" and I knew I had read something I shouldn't have. So, the whole episode I was trying to figure out who was going to shoot who. At first, I thought "Locke is going to shoot Jack" because Jack still gives him shit, and it bugs the crap out of me. I really would have loved to see that happen. How's that for a crazy plot twist eh?

Then, as things went on, I started to think that Jack's dad (anyone know his real name?) might be involved with everything on the island (Dharma). And the whole bodyguard thing was a hint that Ana Lucia was put on the plane to defend Dharma, therefore, making her an Other that was brought in from an outside source or something.

As far as Michael's stunt in the end goes, I definitely think it has to do with getting Walt back. That's pretty much common sence at this point. I have to wonder if the Others are anticipating and/or planning a full-scale war to occur because of this, and had Michael do that to get things started.

Either way, I look forward to next week... I didn't read Eleo's spoilers because I like to watch it for myself, but I can't wait to see what happens... I'm expecting some great progress like there was tonight. I only want a few questions answered before the end of the season...

1. What's the giant ? in the middle of the island?
2. What's the god damn monster?
3. What happens when the button isn't pressed?

I would like atleast one of those to be answered or touched upon by the end of the season... By the way, when is that? 2 or 3 weeks from now?

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Sup guys, pre-emptive spoilers for tonight:

Spoiler:
1. AL is dead
2. Libby is not (for now, and Michael appears to be a weee bit concerned about this)
3. Eko has a dream to follow his brother and go back to the plane...but he must bring along John..to help him find the ?...and to help John for he is in trouble.
4. John and Eko leave to "find "Henry"". Instead they do in fact find the ? which is the 5th station...the Pearl Station...it's below the plane
5. They find an orientation tape at the station which tells them Pearl is an observation station of all the other stations. John sees this and doubts the entire purpose of the island, the pushing of the button and his entire existence.
6. More on Eko's backstory is told...not giving any more here gotta leave some things for people to watch
7. Jack are about to give Libby some heroin (from Sawyer's stash) to ease the pain...but she dies before they can and utters one last word...Michael

If by "plane" they mean "nose of the plane" then perhaps it's fairly obvious why the monster killed the pilot. That's really the only part of the plane left, so unless it's somehow some new plane...

So I wonder if the monster will show up tonight? Or perhaps if it doesn't, it would be indicative of it somehow not being quite like it was after the dynamite incident at the end of season one.

Overlooked Eko's brother's plane I'm dumb.

Double Post:
Also, did anyone know that Locke's dad actually is the real Sawyer? This isn't an upcoming revelation but rather something we were supposed to put together. I for one suspected it but wasn't entirely sure. Apparently they removed a line from that past episode where Locke's dad just out and out says he is known by some as "Sawyer".
