Yeah, I was totally waiting for Mike to meet up with Aaron or something this episode. He reminds me a bit of the son from the Dick Van Dyke show, they only write him in when it's convenient.

I'm also surprised there weren't any scenes with Buchanan or Curtis this episode.

Whoops, I meant to say Homeland Security. Wasn't the guy she filed a report about from Homeland Security as well?

Also, what did you guys think of the chick that took over for Buchanan tonight? When she snapped at her annoying side-kick dude for constantly deriding CTU it made it seem like she might not be as bad as they originally made her out to be.

(And I'm still laughing at the music during the Logans' moment together.)

Hahaha, The Sentinel. That film looks like it's basically applying the "24" formula with a slight twist. I think, when The Sentinel comes out on DVD, there should be a new "24"-themed drinking game: Every time Keifer's character does something cliche Jack Bauer, take a drink.

I anticipate being loaded well before the plot has twisted to a climax, if I drank, that is.

LOL, in 24 Keifer is trying to take down the President and in The Sentinel he's trying to protect him. They should just make a movie where Keifer Sutherland fights himself.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

lol... Keifer Sutherland fighting himself.

ACTUAL DIALOGUE TAKEN FROM THE SCRIPT

Bauer: "DROP THE GUN!"
Sentinel: "I CAN'T DO THAT!"
Bauer: "YOU HAVE TO TRUST ME!"
Sentinel: "Oh my God, we have to tell him now."
Bauer: "TELL ME WHAT I NEED TO KNOW!"
Sentinel: "WE'RE OUT OF TIME!"

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

The Badass-vibes would either exactly cancel each other out and both Keifers would disappear into oblivion, or they would reinforce each other, destroying the universe.

I would so pay to see that. Why hasn't anyone thought of this yet and gotten rich? If only I could patent the idea somehow....

Well, maybe someone else has addressed these concerns, but wasn't Carrie (I think that's the new girl's name) from a lower branch of CTU? So how does she still have a job? Wasn't Chloe supposedly the only remaining member of the old team, per Audrey's request? And when did Bierko get back?

For those who still don't think Logan has a reason to do what he did, it couldn't have been more obviously stated in this past episode. He wanted to get the chemicals overseas to increase the interests over there, like Walt mentioned. He did not intend for Palmer to be assassinated, or for the gas to remain in the USA. At this point he is scrambling to cover his ass, but I think there could still be someone else pulling the strings, as Logan doesn't seem to be able to control Henderson, treating him like a collegaue rather than a hired hand.

In any case, the situation now has the spin that he was able to get thrgouh everything, and he couldn't be more elated. Now if this Jack problem would only dissapear...

And for all you Tony conspiracy theorists...

http://www.grapheine.com/bombaytv/pl...php?id=1051603

Please don't insert Jack into Chuck Norris jokes, it belittles him. If anyone mentiones something about Jack's tears curing cancer, I will resort to something horrible.

Tal, the thing I'm still wondering is how the other people at CTU got targeted (as in people like Tony). Was Henderson using this as a vehicle for revenge on CTU?

Also, way to go for the writers not doing anything for the first lady's aid. Henderson shows up, the kid screams, and you know they're going to die, but I'm wondering why should would have even told him where Jack went since I'm sure she knew he was going to kill both of them. =/

Maybe she thought that either Jack was going to get ahead of him or would outsmart him, possibly killing him. And what do you know? A few terrorists died because of it. So did a few officers and bank manager, but I digress.

I would think Henderson would want revenge on Jack more than anything. As he said, Henderson never thought Jack was dead, and killing these people would do nothing better than smoke Jack out, which he did. I doubt his intentions were anything other than that, and Logan seems to realize that Henderson is certainly accountable for not being able to solve a problem he initiated. (Not to mention that the assassins beared more a resemblance to a Henderson "team" than a governmental hit squad a la Walt.)

As for the aide, I would think that she was either tortured or felt she would be able to barter her way out of it, as she was originally convinced that giving up the information would save her daughter. Heck, if Henderson threatened her daughter with anything, she's probably give it up willingly. I don't think we needed to see that as it would have been rough and/or redundant. We know it's going to happen, we've seen Henderson's ruthlessness, why bother going through the paces while so much other excitement (satellite issues! OMG!) is going on?

Yeah, but we all knew that she was going to die as soon as he busted down the door (as did her daughter, evident by her screaming). Why would she even talk in the first place?

Also, I felt like a completely heartless bastard for shouting DON'T CALL 911! DON'T CALL 911!!!! at my TV during that scene.

Edit: All that was in response to acro-nym's post, I guess tal makes a good point.

Well, a lot of dumb things happened during that episode.

I totally called the fact that Evelyn was going to hit her head on something and keel over when she got up from the bed. I was telling my friend, "heh, I bet she falls and cracks her neck on something" and 2 seconds later... *TRIP* OH SHITS *CRACK*

So lame.

The writers also need a better reason for Logan's reasons behind everything. Geez, it being the same as Walt's reason is too stupid. Henderson was prepared to die (and cripple his wife) to keep the "secret."

Also, working in how and why Evelyn obtained the phone call is near-impossible. Especially when the call mentions the need to "take care of Walt" or whatever. That would mean that Evelyn SOMEHOW recorded the conversation off of the President's secret cell phone that he's using, and BEFORE Walt even got caught. THEN she had the time to drive over to this bank and deposit the digital recorder, THEN SOMEHOW HENDERSON found out about it and had Evelyn's daughter kidnapped...

TOO MUCH FUCKING RET-CON THAT DOESN'T FIT IN REALITY.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Yeah, I'm with you there JazzFlight. Same questions, same curiosities. Nevertheless, Jack Bauer get to fucking take down the fucking President of the fucking United fucking States. That better fucking be fucking amazing.

Also Henderson mentioned before about "opening Pandora's box." I want to say there is still a lot to HOLY SHIT moments to come (wait, "no shit" ). Nevertheless, 24 is the best show ever.

That guy (Miles, I believe) was from Homeland Security, but she definitely wasn't. Why else would she have been so surprised to see him?

I've been thinking about this all day (I've even considered downloading the episode to go back and check this), and I'm pretty sure she was from another section of CTU, so it still doesn't make sense that she's still there. I guess the writers just got so caught up in trying to make this plot for her (which they really haven't even touched on much, especially since Buchanan is gone now) that they forget to apply her to the rest of the show.

I was speaking idiomatically.

I called all of that too and also the bank manager getting shot, but Jack and Wayne being unscaved during their escape. But I've gotten used to the fact that there is too much predictable scenarios and too much logic thrown out the window. They've been doing it for the last 2-3 seasons. The worst predictable thing they do constantly is have Jack(or whoever) in a situation where a terrorist is about to pull the trigger on them, then at the last split second, the terrorist is shot by someone else. I FUCKING HATE THAT!

I still like this show, but it has really disappointed me for the last couple seasons, because of problems like this. It used to be my favorite show by far, now it's probably one of the least favorite shows that I always watch every week. I think they need to get some new writers with some new ideas. Other shows that I watch, like The Shield, The Sopranos, The Wire, and others, are almost never predictable, yet this show is plagued with predictablity and false logic almost every single episode. Oh well, maybe next season.

How ya doing, buddy?

I thought "The Sentinal" was going to be something like how Henderson was framed and taken down by Jack. So it's like a prequel to Henderson's and Jack's relationship.

LOL@Chloe's scene.

You already said that earlier in the thread, didn't you? And I said that it's an ACTION MOVIE cliche, it's not specific to 24.

I don't think she cracked her head. I think she just passed out from the pain. I didn't see blood on her head or even a scratch. I clearly saw that she did not hit the table. So, no hitting "her head on something."

Forgive me for not remembering I posted it earlier in the thread, and forgive me for not reading every post in the thread so I didn't even read your comments on it being an Action Movie cliche. I agree that it isn't a specific cliche to 24, I never said it was. But I think of a season of 24 as a big long movie, and there have been 5 of them, and it happens several times a season. If you watch a single 2 hour Action movie and every 15 minutes they do that same cliche(which is probably the equivalent to how many times it happens in a season of 24), it would get old very quickly. I can't think of any movies that do that more than once the entire movie(there probably is 1 or 2 that do it twice). So since it think of a season 24 as a big long movie, if they do the same thing repeatedly many times per movie, plus they do it in every sequel, you better believe it's annoying.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

By this logic, that would be about eight times. Can you name eight moments in any season when this has happened?

Honestly, I can't name 8 times in a single season off the top of my head. That's not the point though. If it only happens 7 times, does that make it okay? The point is, it happens way too much, period. 3 times in a season is too much, let alone 5,6,7,8....every season.
