(Couldn't care less if the bitch dies. They're throwing in this sudden love story between her and Farraday. Useless. At this point, I hope they both croak. More about the survivors. Less about people who are suck.) There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Didn't last season they revealed that Charlotte was born on the island? She's been pretty useless this season so far, so I don't really care if she dies either. She's an anthropologist, so I thought she was picked to go to the Island to study the Natives or something. Just like how Faraday would study physics/time travel and Miles with talking to dead people (probably to make contact with Jacob.)
So Faraday's mother is in Los Angeles. Does anyone else think that she's... Spoiler:
I think Ben and Widmore are jealous of Locke and are fighting to get back on the island and regain Jacob's love or something. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Well, that episode was less entertaining than I thought it would be. This whole "island latched off time" thing isn't really working for me. Seems like a convenient way to answer the mysteries of the island... Which is probably the reason why Charlotte's become so useless.
The Faraday-fest so far in Season 5 is also a bit too much. From an awkward, nervous Physicist to a "leader" of sorts just seems really out of character. Granted, he's been the only one who knows what's going on so far... But too much of anything can be annoying. Spoiler:

Meeeeh, don't like double posting ;__; but anyhoo, I think I'm starting to get into the swing of things for this Season. Today's episode wasn't too bad, and there were some interesting parts to take in and consider.
Spoiler:
After being bombarded with Faraday for the past three weeks, it was good to see the other characters step up and the writers putting Faraday in the back for a little while. The lack of Desmond was a bummer, though ![]() I was speaking idiomatically. |
Rousseau did meet Jin after the plane crash. I don't remember how she reacted then, but most likely Rousseau's comeback was in the blueprints of the future episodes. She may have said something relatively odd when seeing Jin in the present. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |

Although, another question just popped up: just who were the other canoe people? My guess is that with the time jumps, we'll never know again. Others? Perhaps the O6 themselves? Sometimes I feel that the "time skipping" device they've used is a cheap way to replace "flashbacks", but whatever. They work, and we're finally gonna get some young Danielle answers ![]() What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
What with all the time-jumping malarkey and the show's propensity for CRAZY TWISTS :O, I wouldn't be too surprised if the people shooting at them from the other canoe were friendlies. Or even themselves.
I'm VERY interested as to who the hell the canoes belong to, though. Another new faction? What, so that makes: The Flight 815 survivors The Others The Dharma Initiative Widmore's mercenaries The island's "natives" The company of soldiers Widmore was a member of in the 50s (unless they're native to the island, too. Who knows? They heeded Richard and spoke Latin...) These new fuckers And whoever Matthew Abbadon represents. That's pretty much the most compelling mystery for me at the moment. Apparently this episode was the debut of a new writer... I thought it was nicely pulled-off. Far better-paced than 5x3 was, at least. Nice to see Jin survived the Kahana explosion (and that he was within the Island's radius when Ben worked his magic down in the Orchid). Jam it back in, in the dark. |
My guess was that the Daniel-Charlotte love thing was Daniel's way to provide Charlotte with a constant. As if he didn't really love her, but wanted her to fall in love with him for her own safety.
On another note; My friend theorized that these time jumps might give us a glimpse of who was on board The Black Rock (That old old ship with the dynamite) His theory... Spoiler:
I dunno, I guess that would be cool. Hmm... There's nowhere I can't reach. |
I figure one of the time-jumping adventures will show the four-toed foot statue intact. They can't not pull something like that; it's given the writers a huge window for exploring the island's history.
e: Oh yeah, just remembered. A new DHARMA logo apparently made its debut in the premiere. ![]() This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
A wild ride, today's episode, but so far one of the best for Season 5. It seems like the story's just picked up even more pace and character development left at a minimum, but whatever. What a rockin' episode:
Spoiler:
Next week seems to be all about the Oceanic 6. While this season's Oceanic stories have been kinda boring so far, the preview hyped it for me like hell. Will they actually be getting back on that island next week? :O [/rant] I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
No one likes Lost anymore?
I was surprised they didn't spend a few more episodes trying to get the survivors back to the island. I'm glad it's sped up a bit to keep the pace going, but I do wonder how Kate, Sayid, and Hurley managed to get on the plane. They didn't look too happy, so maybe they were threatened to do so somehow. I was expecting Locke's letter to say something like "do not bring Ben!!" And when Jack reads it, it'd already be too late. At first I thought the guy in the VW was Roger Workman, but it's Jin with the suit on and everything. It seems like he's working for Dharma (time period probably around the time we saw Faraday searching for the Frozen donkey wheel stuck in the wall.) Did Faraday somehow fix the time flashes? I guess we'll find out next week.. I liked the addition of the temple last week, adds more mystery to the island's past. And I cheered when Charlotte died. I was speaking idiomatically. |
You know, I really enjoyed how everyone was going to get back to the island. I liked the process. I was PISSED, however, that they didn't spend the past few goddamn episodes expanding on it. Hurley gets locked up and BAM magically out with hardly any court time, apparently. It's like they wasted a lot of time with these stupid subplots that ended up (presumably) being inconsequential. Like the whole Ben stealing Aaron thing. Ugh. I enjoyed last night's episode if only because Jack, Kate and Hurley made it back to the island. I was happy to see them back. I am a little upset about Locke, though. MAGIC ZOMBIE LOCKE. And the TEMPLES? What the hell. Our survivors have been all over that island and they never saw ruins before. I regret being a LOST fan sometimes, I really do. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
![]() ![]() I'm assuming the main reason we'd not seen the temple previously is down to it being in what Rousseau called "dark territory" - which, aside from their trip to the Black Rock back in season one, the survivors stayed the hell away from. This week's ep was decent. I'm a little miffed at Hurley et al turning up with no explanation, but I'm sure they'll develop on that later. Ben had some fucking awesome moments, too. Probably the most interesting plot point so far is the existence of a Dharma station in LA - could mean that there are others elsewhere in the world... Also, it seems Jin's jumpsuit was emblazoned with yet another new Dharma logo: ![]() FELIPE NO |
You know, I totally forgot about the "dark territory." That could explain it. I concede.
Additionally, what was the madness Rousseau's partners suffered from? Was that explained in any coherent fashion? I may have missed it. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
I heard a theory, wild or inplausible as it may be, that the reason Ben is bloody and exhausted (and by a shipyard, it seemed) is that he went to kill Desmond's sweet Penneh. Vengeance could be a reason to explain how Desmond may head back to the island.
I am pretty interested in next week's episode, myself. I was wondering if they'd explain what Locke was up to when he got back to the states. Or, you know, if he comes back. Jam it back in, in the dark. ![]() |
There's nowhere I can't reach. |
I'm curious about Kate and Aaron, actually. Why'd she freak out like that when Jack asked her what happened? What exactly did happen to Aaron? Apparently he didn't go back to the island, in any case...
As for Rousseau's colleagues, they [Lindelof et al] explained in an interview somewhere that while in the Temple, Smokey somehow changed them. "And not for the better," was the exact line they used. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
Well, we know Locke was "changed" by his encounter with the monster back in S1.
We also know that he saw it as a bright light, which is odd. How ya doing, buddy? |

The lack of explanation detailing how Hurley and Sayid ended on the Ajira flight might also have to do with the fact that next week's episode was actually supposed to be shown this week. Maybe not, but in any case next week looks to be pretty crazy.
Glad that Jack, Kate and Hurley are back on the island, but as Kate asked, "Where's Sun, Sayid and Ben?" We'll have to wait a fornight (and possibly more) for that ![]() What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
Delicious death scene of the annoying village idiot. I liked this week's episode solely because of that. Everything-Locke is complete bullshit and I've hated his ass from the beginning of the series.
At least this explains Locke's letter (which I didn't care about, though), but otherwise it was pointless to air even a minute of this shite. FELIPE NO |
Killing off Abbadon was retarded. They'd better do some more explaining of him through flashback, because otherwise one of the more mysterious figures of the show just got an incredibly untimely death. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? ![]() |
I'm glad I'm not (AGAIN) being a cynical ass about this week's episode. Useless.
It was nice to see Walt again, though. My GOD has he grown. I am a little upset that they just murdered Helen, too. Maybe she's alive? Maybe it's a ploy? I liked Helen. ;_; So what did we learn this episode? That Ben is a prick. WHAT ELSE IS NEW. I don't have any hate for Locke. I like him. I dislike Jack a lot. I just wish Sawyer would shoot everyone and declare himself King of the Island and take Kate and put her in the cages again. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
Tonights episode wasn't useful but it had some strong minutes. Watching a Locke episode was nice again and that together with an interview with Michael Emerson just made me think of something I need to put to text
