Not sure if its been mentioned somewhere, but you have just under a week to register the rest of your Nintendo PINs before progress towards Platinum status is erased. Your coins will remain, but you'll have to start over as of July for the points.

https://club.nintendo.com/elite-award-reminder.do

Just register your 600 points so you can get the "special reward" or whatever it is. Either way, free stuff is free....but I assume nobody buys DS games here since you all have M3s, and nobody buys Wii games because "omg casual," so meh.
Thanks for the tip, forgot about this.

Nothing really great to buy with the points though. Maybe I'll send for the Animal Crossing cards.

Correction.

No one buys Wii games because they don't exist.
An invisible space wizard, a PS3 game, and a Wii game walk into a bar...

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Wow, I pretty much never register my games, just systems. I went and got everything Wii/DS in my house and thanks to my mom buying her own DS and Wii games, I've got 690 points. I'm so tired of taking surveys -_-

According to a Rockstar email today, GTA:Chinatown Wars is coming out on PSP later this year with tweaked graphics and some new missions. Better get your torrent managers warmed up PSP fans.

I really don't get how they think if it didn't sell that well on the DS, that it'll sell any on the PSP.

But Qwarky, it's the highest rated DS game of all time, how would it not sell?

I imagine the graphical tweaks were done by a work experience kid and they'd already done the extra missions but couldn't fit them on a DS cart, there's no way they've spent any money on a PSP game. I think Liberty City Stories sold pretty well though so we could be underestimating them. After all, the overwhelming majority of DS's are owned by small children and girls whereas PSP's are owned by, well, the Playstation generation (That's us, folks) so are far more the target audience for a GTA game. Ignoring the fact that nobody ever buys PSP games, this could be a pretty popular title.

Didn't the Playstation generation buy those consoles because they had a huge game library?

I chose the hat just because, as much fun as it would be to fight Doc, it's a single-match Punch-Out!! that's going to be pirated to shit as soon as it falls into the wrong hands.

Why would anyone want to punch out Doc Louis anyway? Sure, the guy stole your bike, but that was back in 1987. Let it go. The man's changed, he's massive and eats nothing but chocolate. Plus he had that role in The Wire.

He's a war hero. You don't punch them in the fucking face.

It could be just me, but I don't like either of the two prizes. Both are pretty lame, and I can't decide which is the better of the two to get. I'm never going to wear the hat and the game doesn't interest me at all. : /

Seems MadCatz might be doing some more TE sticks, though not tied into SFIV this time:

Quote:
The FightSticks released by Mad Catz alongside Street Fighter IV were surprising, to say the least, for Mad Catz products: despite some early technical issues, the Tournament Edition FightStick for Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 is by far the highest-quality arcade stick available in North America. The only problem, of course, is that they aren't always available. The sticks were produced in extremely limited numbers and initial shipments sold out quickly.

We're very happy, then, to see new Tournament Edition FightSticks for PS3 and Xbox available for pre-order on import retailer Play-Asia. These sticks don't have any Street Fighter IV artwork, but otherwise they look identical -- and adding your own artwork isn't that complicated. According to Play-Asia, the sticks will be available Q4 for $149.90.

Some good news and some bad news floating about today, though the good news also includes a bit of a WTF? moment.

Good news (if your name is Skills):

Quote:
R-Type Tactics II: Operation Bitter Chocolate - yes, really - will be released for PSP in Japan on October 29th. There are no known plans for a US or European release yet. Rising Star Games brought the first game to Europe.

Following the original's controversial departure from side-scrolling shooting to turn-based strategy, Operation Bitter Chocolate makes another change: rather than portraying humanity's struggle against the Bydo aliens, as all previous R-Type games have done, it will depict a war between two human factions.
[ source ]

R-Type Tactics II: Operation Bitter Chocolate?! Erm, sure.

Bad news (especially if your name is Qwarky):

Quote:
The third instalment in the Yakuza series isn't going to make it outside of Japan, by the looks of things.

A SEGA spokesperson told Eurogamer there are "currently no plans" to release the game in Europe.

Meanwhile, the Examiner reports that a US release has been ruled out by SEGA. Only 40,000 copies of the second game were sold over there, and the first one didn't do much better.

Boo.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

You know, if they wanted more copies to be sold I'd slam all three games together. They have to have a shit ton of copies rotting in warehouses. And if not just all three games on one or two discs. For 60 buck I'd totally buy that.

You and no one else.

Also yeah, I read about that today. It's such shitty news, but not at all surprising. Meanwhile, Sonic Riderz will probably get a second sequel eventually because Miles probably bought that but not Yakuza 2. Most likely because it has black and white manual or something

I wonder if Atlus will pick up the second one. Pretty awesome, regardless. I know enough about the mechanics of the first one to probably bullshit my way through the second, provided it's not a total overhaul. Importing if I have to.

Are you serious Taco. He's talking about R-Type... OP even said "Good News if you're name is Skills".

On topic though, I know SD is sorely disappointed in such low reception of Yakuza. He's a fan of the series too. I laughed when I saw him punch and kick a TIGER in Yakuza 2.

Aww, dammit. I guess there's no chance in hell that Yakuza: Kenzan! will make it either then, let alone the possibility of it ever getting an EU release.

I would have played the hell out of that game =(
Well, it's off my list, so I won't frequently be reminded of how much SEGA suck.

Well, Sega came out and publicly backtracked a bit, saying they still haven't decided.

Doesn't really mean anything, but I suppose you don't have to give up hope about Yakuza 3 yet.

An interesting bit of news from Konami regarding the PS2:

Quote:

Konami has confirmed to Eurogamer that it is reissuing old PS2 games to shops, as EG reader Richard Garrard suspected.

"They are proper reissues," a spokesperson told us. "Konami has put them out at budget price because of demand. They are re-manufactured. They are ours."

Those PS2 games are Suikoden Tactics, Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner, Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. And they will soon be joined by Silent Hill 2, 3 and 4.

"We've manufactured certain amounts depending on the title," the spokesperson added, "and they're being bought by wholesalers so will likely pop up in independent rather than chain stores."

The games will be priced between £10 and £20, we're told.

That's pretty awesome if it reaches EU too. I've never played MGS2 because I all I ever find is Sons of Liberty while browsing pre-owned games. Granted, I haven't put a whole much of effort into getting it, could just ebay - but this would make it easy to just pick up a scratch-free disc when I feel like having a go at it.

Even though I already have this, more copies of it available are never a bad thing

Also a question to Konami: why not Suikoden 3-5, why Tactics? :\
