Cleaning the kitchen and bathroom

When you clean the kitchen or bathroom, what do you use?
Do you use powder, liquid, or wipes?
Which do you like best?

For the kitchen-
I find myself always using wipes when cleaning in the kitchen. It's convenient and it's pretty much a one step deal. Grab the wipe out of the container and wipe.

In the bathroom-
I use the wipes for the counters. I use powder when cleaning the toilet and sink.

I don't bother with wipes; In the kitchen I just use a cloth soaked in washing-up liquid for work surfaces and I mop the floor. In the bathroom it's liquid cleaner all the way.

Actually I don't think I've ever seen powder cleaner; my mother always used liquid cleaner so I just used her techniques.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

I use paper towel and soap water for a quick clean in the bathroom sink. I use Windex for the mirrors, the taps, etc., For the Kitchen is usually liquid cleaner such as dish soap for the sink, and pinesol for the floor.

The toilet is usually comet powder.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Bleach in a spray bottle... it's meant to be used to clean off mildew but it's a bloody good floor cleaner... works instantly but it smells bad. Surfaces are quickest with wipes, since they don't get very dirty anyway. The toilet just needs a good scrub with the brush and a drop of bleach or detergent.

I use spray for both areas in the house. I basically have a multipurpose cleaner that disinfects the kitchen or bathroom, and I use different sponges or brushes when going between each area.

For both, I use Comet (so that powdered stuff) on the toilet, tub/shower, and sink, and give it a good ol' scrub-down with a sponge and that cleaner tool for the toilet. In the bathroom, I also use these flushable wipes sometimes for a quick clean.

Then I mop the floor with one of those mops with the liquid that you can squirt out easily. Good stuff.

Oh, and bleach when necessary. That stuff smells awful.

I never use the powdered shit. I am always terrified it is going to scratch things and make them look less shiny - even in the tub. I always use Soft Scrub in the tub and on the hardware. Makes them SPARKLE. But its a bitch to clean off sometimes.

In the kitchen, I usually just use a good, soaped-up sponge. It depends on what I am cleaning though. I rarely use sprays unless its for windows or glass.

I try to use Soft Scrub in all the places that need cleaning. BLEACH ++

I actually use AVON bubble bath to clean my house, it is the best thing I have ever used to clean with! It even repels the dust longer then the regular stuff!

For fabrics I use the fabreeze alergen reducer, that stuff actually works wonders for dust mites.

For toilets you have to use bleach. Why? Because my mother said so. For everything else I either use Soft Scrub or that blue Mr. Clean stuff.

Also, in the bathroom things have to be cleaned in a certain order: bathtub, sink, toilet, floor. Always in that order. And once anything has touched the toilet you have to get another sponge or whatever to do the floor.

I was speaking idiomatically.

For the toilet I use Bleach, no other choice really. For the sink and bath I use a spray (I forget the name)
I don't really clean the kitchen (the benefits of still living at home ), I generally give it a quick wipe down, and wash the floor once in a blue moon.

Damn, someone practically stole my joke. I was gonna say "I don't clean the kitchen and bathroom - that's women's work!"

Ugh, sexist jokes. I apologize for that one. It was just the first thing I could think of to respond. You never know when you have to say sorry though... some people are so sensitive about that stuff.

Seriously though... I actually don't ever clean the kitchen or bathroom. My sister usually does. >>

Hello to all my new friends

I live alone in my home and do all cleaning activities own my own. It was heartening to see some discussion about bathroom cleaning. Can you provide some cleaning solution to kill all germs and not cause any allergies?

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?
