Reformatting Laptop with no CD/DVD ROM
I have a laptop that's like the Mac Air (it has no CD/DVD ROM and 2 USB ports). It's a Samsung.
How do I reformat such a laptop? Do I have to buy an external CD/DVD ROM in order to format it? Thanks. How ya doing, buddy?  Dance party! |

Do you have an external enclosure you could put a normal cd-rom into?

Unfortunately no. I do have a USB drive that holds like 8 gbs.
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. Dance party! |

You can load a Live CD of Linux/Windows onto a USB flash drive, or bust out hiren's boot disk on USB flash drive. This all assumes your laptop can boot from usb (which I'm assuming this is a netbook, since that is the only brand of laptop that would have usb ports without a cd rom).
All else fails, go 'rent' a portable usb cd-rom drive from a local electronics store. By rent, I mean buy it, use it for your purposes, then return it because 'it wasn't what you were looking for'. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
