Was there ever any composer info released for Tetris & Dr. Mario for Super NES? There's nothing at GameFAGs, MobyGames nor SNESMusic.org, and the two existing rips for this game (Bishop743's and shadowlink56's) don't have composer info either.
Can we get some light shed on this? I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
The game has no credits afaik. The music is mostly arrangements from the original music from Tetris and Dr. Mario on NES and GB. The original Dr. Mario was composed by Hirokazu "Hip" Tanaka.

For Super Mario Bros. 2 (the original Japan one, not the USA one), did it have any music different from its predecessor?

Hi guys,
I was directed here from a guy in this thread: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?p=5953412 Basically, I was hoping someone here would help point in the right direction in search of some music. --- http://www.gametrailers.com/player.p...pe=wmv&pl=game --- Really really nice video ...definately shows they should've reconsidered asking Michael Giacchino (and Chris Tilston) to score this given it makes the game sound more MOH than 'action movie'. Incidentally though, WHERE IS THIS MUSIC FROM?! :s It's been bugging me all week now... After little help from the GT forums themselves ("it's Red Faction?") I was hoping all you guys are movie and game savvy enough to have at least a good guess. It's not from the Black OST, as I have that through iTunes. I went through both my Pirates of Caribbean OSTs, Batman Begins... even back to Peacemaker and DropZone, but I can't pinpoint it. Sounds very House of Zimmmerish. Anyone know? Most amazing jew boots |
I know this is a site for game music but a number of people here share anime music and are knowledgeable about it......
I am going to tag the 3 Cowboy Bebop OSTs and I am wondering how many of the songs I should credit "The Seatbelts" for in the artist field of the tag. As far as I know, Yoko Kanno composed all three discs, but didn't The Seatbelts play the music? What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
Maybe this needs a bump after the downtime? I'd like to tag the MP3s...... they're horrible as they are right now. =/ If this is the wrong place to request this, sorry, but I don't know where to find this information.
Jam it back in, in the dark. |
If there are multiple artists, then it seems to be standard to list them all, each seperated by a comma.
For example: Starcraft (Game Rip) <Glenn Stafford, Jason Hayes, Derek Duke, Big Tuna> - Terran 2 For the Cowboy Bebop OSTs, it would probably be acceptable to use something like <Yoko Kanno, The Seatbelts> as the artist credit. Most people seem to understand what the comma implies. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Only the first and third of the three soundtracks have per-track credits as far as musicians are concerned. And while it's true that the Seatbelts play (and are credited) on many of the tracks, there are also many tracks featuring non-Seatbelts musicians or only select members of the band.
Generally people won't put musicians in the artist field and personally, in this case, I would credit Kanno for all non-vocal tracks (the only exception, track 18 on the second album, which was remixed by DJ FOOD) and the vocalist in question for the respective vocal tracks. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
Okay, I guess I'll just go with Yoko. Thanks, this has been bugging me for a while, I asked like the day before GFA.com went down. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
I was wondering if anyone knew who composed the music for Bleach - Heat the Soul 4? It has only been released in Japan and I can't find any credit entries in gamefaqs nor at mobygames.com.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Most amazing jew boots |
Can someone start their Final Fantasy X, ...
...go to the Sphere Theater and tell me if this track here is "#M56: Illusion" or "#M58: Nostalgia" from the music spheres? I haven't got a copy at the moment...

I need to know the names of 2 metal gear solid 3 tracks...
I need to know the names of 2 tracks:
1. The track that plays when you first talk to "the boss" over the radio. 2. The track that plays during the "caution" stage of being caught (it played when the two soldiers starting looking for you after you faced the boss and she got away on her horse). Thanks. FELIPE NO |
Anyone know this song from Winter Games (1986, Epyx)? If you don't recognize it from the beginning, skip to the part at 0:39, that's the most memorable section.
I've heard orchestra versions of it before, so it's a classical composition they used for the game. EDIT: Solved - it's the "Waltz of the Flowers" from Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

There's this old game, called "Dragon - A Bruce Lee Story". It was released in 1993 (or so) on SNES and several other platforms, it featured some very catchy music. Thus I am very eager to know, who was the composer on it.
Mobygames has the game credits, but still no information regarding the composer. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
It does, actually. It lists Matt Furniss for "Music + sound FX". And I can't imagine the Sega Master System getting a completely new soundtrack (although I don't know the game).
There's nowhere I can't reach.

In fact, I will give an example: Cool Spot's SMS soundtrack was done by Furniss, but the SNES one was by Tommy Tallarico, Joey Kuras, and Steven S. Henifin. Also, if MobyGames has some game credits like that but doesn't list the composer, it probably is the case that the game did not list the composer in the credits. Which means that you might be out of luck. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |

It's a shame, really. And the fact is, I'm interested exactly in the SNES version

Been there, done that, and yet there's nothing on the composer.
It's just like CHz said, if there is no composer info on the game credits, then there will be none on MobyGames. I'm just hoping, that this game was on some composer's portfolio. For instance, Billy Martin was hired by Ubisoft to write some music for Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones, he had only one day at his disposal. As a result, his name was not displayed in the developer credits. But, there is information about his contribution to the game on his website (http://www.billymartinmusic.com/news.htm - look for November 2005). Maybe, just maybe, the situation with "Dragon" is similar. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
I have a quick question I've been mulling over for the last couple days. Does anyone who composed Growlanser VI? If so, it'd be great if you could share that information. I bought the OST last week but the booklet has NO info whatsoever about who did the music for it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Most amazing jew boots |
I'll ask this here, figuring that this would be the safest place.
Does anyone know where to find the English translation of Okami's ending theme, 'Reset'? I've found the Japanese lyrics, but havent been able to find the English translation anywhere. Thanks in advance! <3 What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
Anyone know where to find "Hepatica-KOSMOS" lyric and translation?
I don't know even which language is in this song but I love it. Jam it back in, in the dark.
Sorry for being an idiot in GRAMMAR.
I don't use English as my first language. |
Given the relatively slow posting pace of the forum and the fact I think this thread receives poor attention, I thought it'd be ok to try to allow all information requests outside of this thread. Let's see how it goes, k ~ There's nowhere I can't reach.

Haven't touched the rules/links in ages, so I fixed a few things right now. I'm reopening this thread for opening post feedback only if anyone has any. We will continue to follow niki's plan about using request threads to gather info.

I don't think there have been any rule changes, but I fixed a few links in the opening post.
