ZELDA THREAD. I didn't like The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
That was a terrible Super Nintendo game. Most amazing jew boots |
I bet it didn't even work when you put it into your Super Nintendo.
What a useless hunk of plastic Ocarina of Time was. I was speaking idiomatically. |
Hay, it's better than Link to the Past. Link to the Past totally ripped off Ocarina's flow, man! First you got to collect them three pendants just to prove your worth. Then after you proved your worth you get this big ass Master Sword. Then you go around rescuing people and collect them sages/sage descendants. Pfft.
What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
FELIPE NO John Mayer just asked me, personally, through an assistant, to sing backup on his new CD. |
This Super Nintendo game just keeps getting worse. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
This thread is worse than the I make tribute videos thread
And before anyone says it I've posted in both of them Jam it back in, in the dark. |

Zerg you know very well that will only work for like maybe 2 hours tops. Why do you do this?
I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
Incredible how Zelda can still make any internet into serious business. It even boringized the halfwits at 4chan. First game to use Mode 7 and supposedly "the fastest and smoothest pseudo-3D racer ever on a console at that time". All my friends were like hey, we rented this here awesome game again. Wanna play again, again? Again? I thought the hype would never die. For some reason, the universe intended for this one being to find this particular game tedious and annoying. I do not know why I was speaking idiomatically. |

Zerg, even if you didn't you should know that its content is auto-deleted after a certain amount of time. That's how extremely active image boards work.
FELIPE NO |
Huh. Didn't know that either. So basically you can say anything you want there, and it generally won't come back to haunt you eh?
So anyway, in an attempt to un-derail said thread and divert attention from my ignorance of how active image boards work, I'll just come out and say that I felt Tales of Phantasia was overrated. There was a lot of interest over it when it was first dumped in its entirety in the turn of the millennium (I can't recall the year now, but it has to be between 1999-2001, when the ZSNES message boards was my forum home.) This interest intensified when DeJap released a patch, and later a full translation in 2001. The game doesn't have incredible graphics (SD3's background look sweeter than ToP), and I don't really find the tunes special (though I did dig the Aviators flying theme). The battle system is unusual for an RPG system, and was rather innovative for its day, although as far as action-adventure games go, I prefer the SoM control scheme. Looking back, perhaps I might have misinterpreted the popularity of the game. It is entirely possible ToP was talk of the town only because of the novelty factor. ToP was by far the biggest ROM to have finally been dumped at that time. It was also the only SNES game (to my knowledge) to have an opening song with full vocals, something that's trivial after the cartridge days. If anything, the interest in Star Ocean after the graphics pack was decompressed in 2001 certainly was a close parallel to ToP's popularity. (I never did pick up Star Ocean though; without a manual, I found the battle system a bit tricky to pin down, and there was no full translation or full SDD-1 support for a long while.) </thread> Jam it back in, in the dark. |
It's Marvel vs. Capcom 2 for me, but that's because 90% of its online players use Magneto, an orange-colored Sentinel and Storm. Plus the usual Cable player assholes who spam Viper Beam all day.

... we've been over this: Motoi (especially 16-bit Motoi) is horribly overrated, and doesn't do anything outside of the game context. MOVING ON. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. It was lunchtime at Wagstaff.

I only nominated Weird Al once. It was in SAUS I. Good job at making up lies just to prove your point. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
Was it Hardware Store? =o
I was speaking idiomatically. |
My mistake; I didn't think anyone other than you would be able to pick a song to nominate - out of Weird Al's entire catalogue, which I generally like - that was so terrible.
All that proves is that I didn't think that arguing with you was important enough to waste time performing more than a cursory search. All it changes is that instead of saying you nominated a Weird Al song not once, but twice, I should've said "yes, in fact, you did nominate a Weird Al song, contrary to what you have previously said." The fact is you were still wrong, your taste is still dubious at best, and yes, you are still a moron. Ahahaha jesus christ this is from so long ago I forgot about it. Dear lord. You pick the most trivial shit to hold grudges over. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

GOD DAMN IT WAS IT HARDWARE STORE?!
FELIPE NO |
No, it was "Biggest Ball of Twine in Minnesota."
If I were to nominate another Weird Al song, though, it'd probably be Hardware Store. But that's a pretty big if. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
Pancreas would be better.
How ya doing, buddy? It was lunchtime at Wagstaff.

Final Fantasy VI/Final Fantasy 6/Final Fantasy III/Final Fantasy 3...or whatever the fuck people are calling it nowadays. I realize it's popular, not only here but in other gaming communities and I really have to question why. I mean I played it when it came out, I was coming off the high of awesomeness that was Final Fantasy IV/2 so I figured "Oh snap, next game is going to be even better". I was very disappointed. It contained character I didn't care about and the story started way too slow and turned into a clusterfuck of predictable scenarios.
I realize that to alot of people it will be unfathomable how anyone could talk bad about the great FFVI, and I just want to say that it is by no means not a bad game, just as the thread says...an overrated game. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Isn't there a rule against thread necromancy? Crash, I am disappoint.
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
I didn't know that the statute had been reduced to less than a month.
I'll keep this in mind the next time Paco posts something to the MEC thread. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
