KALEB GRACE : Artist/Composer/Designer/Engineer/...Creator
also, I like turtles |
I'm glad people generally appreciated Center of the Earth; it's my favorite piece by Hosoe, and given that he's composed about 75% of all VGM (conservative estimate), that's saying an awful lot. The melody is catchy as hell and the energy level is great; the composition in general makes me come back every time.
If I had been around to vote, my post would have looked something like this: 3 points: Namco Game Sound Express VOL.04 Dragon Saber - Center of the Earth 2 points: Vandal Hearts II ~Heaven's Gate~ Original Soundtrack - Warfare on a Constructions 1 point: Genmu no Tou to Tsurugi no Okite Original Soundtracks - Floor 1, 2 close: The King of Fighters '98 Arrange Sound Trax - ESAKA (Kyo Kusanagi) Hell to the yeah IONCROSS Freelancer, TO is my man. I'm kind of fond of Planet New Berlin. Rochester Base is okay, but pretty forgettable. Warfare on a Constructions is hella fun. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
Anyways, yeah, the Planet New Berlin Bar Music is pretty cool, but it's a remix from Seiken Densetsu 3, and since TO probably isn't considered a professional VGM composer, I figured this won't be eligible (If he is, give me a yell and I'll nominate one of his original pieces, which I happen to like a lot more that what he composed for ICTW). The selection of the ICTW soundtrack is a bit of a weird one, you can choose between highly ambient space BGMs (the game is a space-sim), and sort of backgroundish bar musics, both of which work great in-game, but aren't that great to listen to on their own. Anyways, was worth a try . I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
I've hung around OverClocked ReMix, where he has quite a few arrangements, longer than I have here, and I've talked to TO on IRC. And Kaleb's been there for even longer.
Never played the game; I just know the music because I know him. I like TO's stuff, usually, though that soundtrack is showing its age a bit. I think the fact that that track is an arrangement of Swivel is the reason I enjoy it moreso than the rest. Usually though I usually listen to the full version on OCR, "Electrion (Guitar Mix)," instead of the game version. I was speaking idiomatically. |
