Installing softwares - bypassing admin password in Vista?
Hello again
I'm bringing the company laptop home for springbreak. I have my own useraccount and can login, surf, check e-mail etc. But they have set a password for installing new softwares. I was wondering if anybody knew a technique to bypass the admin protected password screen whenever I try to install a new software? Edit: I'm asking this because I want to install a MMO game. If it's not possible, I guess I just have to use my old laptop :1 Jam it back in, in the dark.
Thanks to Fjordor for the funny image!

I think there's no easy way to do it on Vista, if the administrator doesn't want you to install stuff.
There are, of course, ways to gain admin access. But, I urge you not to try and hack into your company-issued laptop. If it's available on the torrent sites, perhaps, you can consider running a ThinApp version of the MMO game. Just search for "Portable [name of application]." ThinApp virtualization enables you to run software without any installation. How ya doing, buddy? |
