New Hard Drive present in Device Manager, not in My Computer?
Recently bought a WD 750 gig SATA drive, seemed to hook up okay (I put it in SATA 2, and I have up to SATA 6, so I'm pretty sure it's not in the RAID position)
When I check My Computer, no new hard drive, but device manager shows it working properly. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the device, but got nothing. My BIOS doesn't rreally have any settings pertaining to SATA, so I'm not sure what else it might be. A friend suggested getting the newest chipset drivers? Seems silly to have one SATA drive work fine, but two to be a problem. Additional Spam: Hm. Problem solved, looks like all it needed was a run through Data Lifeguard tools, which activated and formatted it properly for me. Now I just need to remember where you go to change drive letters. How ya doing, buddy?
