A Little Explanation?
So... I'm working on a friends computer. After the HP logo flashes on the screen (and having the option to go into the BIOS), the screen just goes blank. It's booting from the correct device, so I'm not sure why it isn't loading Vista. I can boot from a CD and other devices, but not the harddrive. It's an easy enough fix, I'm just curious about what could have caused the problem. Any insight?
Jam it back in, in the dark. |
In order of severity, the following are possible:
1. Loose connection between hard disk and motherboard 2. Something wrong with hard disk cable 3. Damaged or corrupt boot sector 4. Some files missing (ie: ntldr) 5. Dead hard disk How ya doing, buddy? |
6. Mischievous leprechauns
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
