Well, hell. Now's the time ot get backing up, right?

I was thinking about backing up journals as I'm sitting here doing each comment page by hand and stuff, that if we have the boards exploding on a regular basis, perhaps we need a way to back this up easily? It can be done with PMs, so what about journals?

Basically I"m asking Blah if it would be easy to write in a quick "export as XML" option into the journal system. It'd be much easier than saving pages and pages of HTML/MHT/MAF shit.

=o

Jam it back in, in the dark.

You did? Shit, sorry. ;_____;

(Does that mean it's not going to happen?)

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Export as PDF would be even nicer (for those of us who don't have Acrobat).

Well in my humble opinion this is the only backup file we really need:

In a similar vein, does anyone know of an easy way to back up posts? I've gone through and saved all my posts to raw HTML files, but it seems there might be a more elegant solution I'm not aware of.

I guess it would be possible to click on every single thread and make it so only your posts appear, then download the thread as a PDF, but that seems like a real fucking bother.

Yeah, just downloading the HTML files took about three hours of solid work.

I just used the text export. Very damn handy. I wish it could save comments as well, but I can live without 'em.
