i once went to a cheap buffet in china town (london) and it was horrible; there was little choice and everything was full of onions x.x but once i went to a buffet in hong kong at a hotel and the selection was huge and the quality so much better; there was european chefs to make whatever you wanted, sushi chefs making sushi on demand, salad bar, drinks bar, a huge range of ice-cream. though i guess it was due to the price as well and the fact this was new years ^^;
sometimes i prefer buffets, since you can eat more of what you want and decide the portions and what order. in restaurants it tends to be set what you get first and last and less variety; they tend to focus on one type of cuisine. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
I think it is pointless to order the buffet at some Chinese places becsause they put MSG in their food.
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
You do realize that practically any boxed foodstuffs you get at the supermarket will have MSG in it, right?

I have to admit, I love a buffet. Salad Bars. Anything of the sort, really. It's not so much that I'm a fat ass (I'm not), I just like the variety. My ideal salad is a giant bowl of every plant in the universe - not lettuce, tomato and a slice of chicken for 8 dollars.
What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
I'm a buffet fuckin master. I have Hometown Buffet menus in my wallet and now have a GIANT MAP OF THE USA SHOWING ME WHERE EVERY ONE OF THEM IS.
My only problem with doing the Hometown action is that my friends stay for an hour - I want to make a day of it. I want to start my morning with chicken fried steak and end it with 8 helpings of ham. Most amazing jew boots |
I wonder if there are any laws governing all you can eat buffets. Like, when are they allowed to kick you out? Can you sue them for false advertising if they do?
What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
How ya doing, buddy? |
I mean like, official laws. Like, when can they call the cops over to "escort" you from the premises?
There's nowhere I can't reach. |
The multicultural buffets around here are basically cleaner places to eat according to some local inspections (due to probably the scrunity of citizenship mostly)
not to mention the variety is great and NO WAIT TIME! How ya doing, buddy? |
I only go to chinese buffets. The ones I go to are neat and a wide variety of food all around. And its fancy lookin. I consider going to a buffet a special occasion ^_^ yum

All depends on:
1. Where you go 2. When you go 3. What you like to eat 1. If you go to a Chinese buffet (like Mandarin), most of the food there is pretty good even though its cheap stuff, it'll satisfy your taste buds! Tucker's Marketplace is also quite good. 2. Dinner is ALWAYS better than breakfast/brunch/lunch because thats when they bring out the good stuff: shrimp, lobster, brabs etc. - but all of that is only good if you like seafood . This brings me to my next point: 3. If you like seafood - go crazy and gorge out on fish, shrimp, crap etc.etc. because that stuff is usually pretty expensive so it'd be a good deal. But if you're into fries and chicken wings - it doesn't really matter where you go because no matter what you do you'll get ripped off. I'd never pay 15 bucks to eat fries and chicken wings, it doesn't seem sensible if you can go to KFC and get it for 5 bucks. (BTW - I don't think i'd ever eat fries and chicken wings from KFC - heard the oil in the fryer gets changed once ever 2-3 years) I was speaking idiomatically. |
