Venture Bros. Season 2 Discussion

I've been anticipating this for a long while, and tonight is the night for the new season premiere. Like Family Guy, the fate of this show seemed uncertain, until the collective support from fans and DVD sales helped give this series a second chance.

Just a few more hours before we're all reaquainted with the awesome visage of Brock Samson. Women surrender their bodies to him; Men grow bi-curious at the sight of him. Just make sure you don't try to take his knife away.

And what of The Monarch? Will his time in prison cause him to make like Lex Luthor and emerge a more dangerous and insane villain? It helped improve his volcabulary at least.

Will the return of Molotov Cocktease mean a chance for Samson to finally go past 2nd base?

http://youtube.com/watch?v=8lRLLYKjC...venture%20bros

And of course, the one question on everyone's mind; are Hank and Dean Venture truly dead? Will Dean's training to become a boyfriend be all for naught?

http://youtube.com/watch?v=NMisSBUAI...venture%20bros

The obvious solution to most fans is cloning. There were more than a few hints that the Venture Bros. may have been the result of previous experiments ("Come in, Dave! I mean Dean!" "I should have checked this in the beta phase..." "All right, get their clothes), so I have two theories; either they come back as clones, or we get a cloned pair of brand new Venture Bros, with different names and characteristics.

We'll find out in a few hours. I'll be wearing my Blueeeee Windbreakerrrrr!

Jam it back in, in the dark.

I can't wait either. I found a bit of info already by looking it up on Comcast's guide:

Comcast Info:
Season two opens with those who loved the Venture Brothers mourning their loss; Dr. Venture embarks on a soul-searching expedition across the globe; Dr. Orpheus becomes consumed with guilt; and Brock - sans mullett - repairs his car.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

I really wish I had cable here (at school I do, but I've never had cable/satellite/dish at home). Needless to say, I'll find some way of watching it, eventually. Maybe downloading eps or something. I'm really looking forward to it, because they've only been advertising the second season for like, half a year.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

You'll most likely find the episode on youtube or mininova almost immediately after.

Did they confirm how many episodes we'll be getting in a row? The one thing I hate with AS is how far they spread new episodes (we got the first episode of Korgoth, but have to wait til september for the rest).

And to get slightly off-topic, I just read that AS is going to make new episodes of The Oblongs, which upsets me greatly. They won't bring back Mission Hill, which I've grown incresingly fond of, but they'll bring back this too-disturbing-to-be-funny series. Wil Ferral was the best part of the show, but everything else was just too damn creepy for my taste.

There's already episode reviews of VB on toonzone, but I'm avoiding spoilers for now. All I know is that they'll definetely focus on Hank and Dean's last season death.

I'm very stoked about the new season starting! Just a few more hours!

I haven't laughed that hard in a very long time. If they can keep this up for the whole season, VB is going to replace Family Guy as my favorite animated comedy.

There were so many awesome moments, I can't possibly pick a favorite. Here are the highlights.

Spoiler:
Jonas' first motion with his cyborg hand.

King Gorilla: "I couldn't get into it, you sound too much like a woman."

The Haji parody.

Dr Orpheus convincing his daughter that raising the dead is no big deal (and his previous clients).

AS's posted theories.

The henchmen unmasked. "I can call myself...The Viceroy!"

"Will you just tell him already?" "Heh, and miss this?"

Doc and Brock's reminicing about the 13 previous Ventures (omg, mustaches. hilarity).

"There was a gas leak. The silent killer."

King Gorilla's change of heart, and helping the Monarch escape.

No magic has been lost. Venture Bros is back in full force.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

New episodes of The Oblongs? That's fantastic news! I don't care for some of the recent stuff that AS makes themselves (12 Oz. Mouse, Squidbillies, etc.) but The Oblongs was one of my favorites back when they showed "new" episodes. I'm surprised they're making more since it was snagged from a different network after it was cancelled. I agree though, Mission Hill was a far better show.

On a side-note, I had no clue that the VA for Kevin French on Mission Hill was also Ma-Ti on Captain Planet.

Oh man that episode just slayed me! Seriously, I haven't laughed that hard at a new show in awhile. Kudos to the team of Venture Bros. for keeping it interesting and actually pushing the envelope for Adult Swim. I can't wait for the rest of the episodes.

I've gotta say, this show was absolutely fantastic. The quality of AS shows has been slipping drastically, with the very few exceptions being pilots for shows(Korgoth, Lucy Daughter of the Devil). The Venture Brothers stepped up and showed that a new season of an old show could be even better then the previous episodes. I'm just hoping the cloning doesn't become a running gag, where Hank and Dean die every episode. I doubt that'll happen, cause the people making this show kick so much ass.

Go Team Venture!
