Manga Chapter 294-297 Spoilers

Naruto nearly killed Jiraiya when they were training after going 4-Tails Kyuubi mode. He went 3-Tails against Orochimaru recently, then got so pissed off that he lost all consciousness and turned into a tiny Kyuubi with the 4-Tails mode.

Orochimaru, however, was able to go toe-to-toe with him (which thankfully redeemed his character).

Naruto's definitely not weaker than he was when he fought Sasuke.

I just watched Naruto 171 for whatever reason. What is this.

Naruto goes Kyuubi mode against some the Thing from the Black Lagoon.

The animation was pretty bad. I felt like I was watching an episode of Jem. I'd take a screencap but VLC is being pretty gay. Anko appears in one scene totally out of proportion. That's unacceptable.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I actually loved the animation in episode 133, otherwise known as the BEST PART OF THE SASUKE/NARUTO FIGHT. A lot of the action was filler, but it was nicely animated and choreographed.

But I do agree. Screenshots of that episode (or even the Orochimaru/Sasuke fight in episode 30) are ugly as homemade sin.

It's not even really a rush job. The simpler the artwork, the easier it is to animate. Naruto doesn't have the budget an anime like Ghost in the Shell: 2nd Gig would have (and even then the actual frames aren't detailed to hell). It also doesn't need it, as the fights are still enjoyable. I'm more interested in what the characters are doing rather than whether or not I can see their dandruff.

Recent Manga Chapters

The fight with the 4-Tailed Kyuubi Naruto was nothing like DBZ. Sure Naruto was only using brute force, but Orochimaru displayed the most progression in his jutsu knowledge and execution (or jutsu he never had any reason to reveal before).

Kyuubi Naruto is fun for the occassional brute strength and explosive power, but usually those up against him MUST rely on shinobi strategy. In the case of Sasuke, he had no choice but to get more chakra to deliver a final, single blow to shut Naruto up. The problem with Naruto is that he gets angry easily, especially with his (fruity, but understandable) obsession with "saving" Sasuke.

If we're introduced to Curse Seal 3, 4, and 5 or something like that, I'll be kind of irritated. We don't need any more, and if Sasuke's anywhere near as good as Orochimaru is, he simply doesn't need it. Jiraiya has no seal and he was able to beat Kyuubi 4 Tailed Naruto. It's not about who has the most chakra.

At least not yet.

There's always the possibility of Naruto turning into a DBZ clone. A lot of people believe it already has, but it's just sticking somewhat closely to the rules of "shonen manga." That's pretty irritating, sure, but it's to be expected. Remember, this manga's targeted towards little Japanese kids with ginormous backpacks.

The fillers are terrible. The Bug Search episodes were only decent because Hinata was featured. Watching Naruto Rasengan every other "boss" is getting pretty out of hand.

Manga Chapter 298

Rumors were flying around that maybe Danzou wanted to usurp control of Konoha from the Godaime, Tsunade. It looks like this may be true, evident by Yamato's theories (which of course, may not be true). The chapter, or at least the scanlation I read, was a little bit confusing.

Kabuto mentions that he and Orochimaru are being followed by somebody, I assume, tha isn't Sai (who's just a few feet away). Two pages later Yamato's mokuton bunshin, who's been trailing Team Evil, spots Sai ... lynched.

Despite the fact that I can't stand Sai, that was a huge shocker.

Then again, I can't imagine him really being dead. As much as I'd like him to be, he hasn't developed as a character at all or shown his true abilities.

Watch up to episode 135, I think. After that point, the series stops following the manga and heads into filler hell. You can take a peek if you want, but it's really not worth the HD space at all (or time downloading/watching).

The end of fillers should be in about two or three weeks, at which point the anime will follow the manga again.

It's a pity that the manga hasn't really focused on any of the other Rookie 9. I found the majority of them way more interesting than the main characters. The fillers should've just focused on those teams doing missions, as opposed to whoring Naruto to every other team.

She's really been pushed off to the side so far in the manga, and it appears that Sakura may have a crush on Naruto.

Some things in the anime are better presented than they were in the manga, while some animated fights are definitely lacking in the cool area (Neji v. Kidoumaru is a good example, as the finishing blow was very nicely done in the manga).

Well, what he did with Kakashi really turned me off. That was the last thing I wanted to see him do.

The advanced Sharingan, magenkyo (sp). It's not exactly like Itachi's, but it was so hard to swallow that I just couldn't accept it.

I'm just waiting for the other characters to shine. After all of this build-up with their development pre-timeskip, they seem to have all gone to waste. I understand Kishimoto's developing (or attempting to develop) the plot for Part 2, and that's why he's focusing on Team 7. It's just that we've seen at least two long arcs in Part 2 with very little from the others.

Also, for those watching the Naruto dub on Cartoon Network, it's taking a month long break to make room for Miyazaki's films that are being aired. I'm really only interested in how Orochimaru's going to sound, since the preview they aired yesterday showed him fighting Anko in the Forest of Death.

The dubs aren't as bad as people make them out to be. They're fairly well done, with the exception of a few really grating voices (Naruto's, for example, but it's slowly getting better). Gai's voice actually destroys the original Japanese VA's.

Should Yamato (the 'clone') die, I'm sure that Naruto will still refuse to let the Kyuubi take over by not using it's power. Yamato suggested that he rely on his own strength, anyhow.

Unless something really crazy happens, I don't think we'll be seeing another Kyuubified Naruto anytime soon. It's time to see what Naruto can actually do.

I just wish Kishimoto didn't go with the whole "Sasuke in the dark" thing. It would've been just as exciting to see him there, new design and all, doing nothing but talk.

Yeah, but I'd really like to see a real Itachi/Sasuke match. There's been a lot of build-up to it. Not to mention that's Sasuke's sole purpose in life right now: to kill his older brother. For him to die all of a sudden would make a lot of the chapters a waste of space.

That Yamato clone is so gone, though. I imagine Sasuke'll own it with a single attack. Probably a kunai or something.

I'm pretty sure Sasuke will end up refusing. Should he manage to kill Itachi, he may fulfill his part of the bargain with Orochimaru, or make a move to. However, words from Naruto or Sakura will more than likely reach him, and he'll betray Orochimaru.

But this is Orochimaru we're talking about here. As you said, chato, he's probaly already got a plan and a crazy-ass curse seal jutsu to keep Sasuke in check.

Why does Sasuke get so much hate, though? Sure he's angsty, but at least it's for good reason. Plus, he's a kid. Dude gets his entire family and clan massacred by his own brother and he gets UBER GENJUTSU'd twice. He's not a Terminator.

Chapter 301

Sasuke's genjutsu was kind of lackluster. I'm also getting tired of the whole "I'M IN THE DARKNESS WATCHIN YOU TALK" thing going on at Orochimaru's base. But next week should make up for the lack of "cool."

Orochimaru's "VA" revealed

Was Orochimaru always in the guise of a woman when he first shows up? In the Japanese dub it was difficult to tell. Nevertheless, he sounds like a far less-raspy Freeza. I forgot that his voice does go through a change when he confronts Anko in episode 30, so I imagine the dub's will get deeper as well.

I give Orochimarina's dub VA a 4 ... out of 5.

It's airing with a bunch of other shows aimed at the younger audience. Believe it or not, Naruto is not necessarily aimed for an older teenage audience.

The anime is still available uncut online for download, and the DVDs themselves are supposed to be uncut once they're released. I really see no reason to complain when, unlike 4kids' bastardization of several anime, Naruto is at least being given fair treatment.
