I remember previewing this in my school's anime club in 2002 or 2003. Can't remember, but I liked the first one or two episodes. Then when Naraku was introduced I got a bit more interested. I never got on the Sesshoumaru bandwagon since my friends were so crazy fangirl for him, and I found his very character a stiff, annoying and unimpressive walking cliche. Funny, considering the rest of the cast (and the medium).
The trend of "Naraku always gets away" and endless fillers (though I had no idea they were fillers and just assumed the series was poorly structured) turned me off, in a major way. I rebelled and started watching Naruto instead.
THE VICIOUS CYCLE NEVER ENDS.
